Newt Gingrich says the Congressional Budget Office is the worst thing since Hitler and probably worse than Hitler, and Hitler runs the CBO. Basically.

The Newtster says he’s disappointed that the Republicans have not abolished the office because it’s so “profoundly dishonest.” I would like to see more hard evidence on that – so far all I’ve seen is people pointing out that they were wrong on how many people would be on Obamacare by now, and wrong by the millions. If I were to imagine what Democrats might retort to this, they might blame the ads, as Obama did, and also that tomfoolery by the Republicans lessened the program’s ability to gain new adherents.
But is that enough to call it completely dishonest? I’m not so sure, and Newt’s vague personal recollections don’t persuade me. I wouldn’t it put it past a congressional office to skew left, we’ve seen it too many times before, of course.
On the other hand, isn’t this exactly what we envisioned from an overly-authoritarian executive? As soon as someone disagrees, it’s “ABOLISH THEM!” And especially odd is the fact that Republicans aren’t aligned on the greatness of TrumpCare – some don’t like it at all…
