Wow! I am admittedly having trouble trying to enunciate the awesomeness of this speech. I’ve gone to the trouble of transcribing the entire speech for those of you who can’t watch it but to everyone else you must watch it. The transcription simply doesn’t do it justice. It may very well be one of the best speeches I have ever heard from Allen West.

I’m not kidding:

I bolded some exceptional lines:

Thank you for being here because this shows your commitment to your country. This shows your commitment to the principles and values upon which this country was established. And you know some of the things that people continue to ask me, they continue to ask me “well, why won’t you compromise, why won’t you negotiate?”. We’ll let me tell you something. Abraham Lincoln said very succinctly, he said “plant your feet in the right place and then stand firm”, and so I’m gonna be standing firm.

When I was a young Lieutenant and I was going through airborne school, the sergeant black hat said very simply: “If you set the bar low you jump low.” You did not send us up here to set the bar low. You sent us up here with some expectations. You sent us with a mandate. You sent us up here believing that we were here to do the things, to turn around this great ship of state called the United States of America. Because right now, this leaderless, rudderless ship is out in the maelstrom about to get tossed on the rocks.

And I’m sick and tired of hearing everyone talk about this great constitutional, conservative grass roots movement called the Tea Party. I am sick and tired of them trying to blame you, I am sick and tired of them trying to castigate you in a negative manner. No one says anything about Moveon.org; no one says anything about Organizing for America. You are what this country was founded upon and I am glad to be standing her with you.

We are not here to talk about shutting down the government. But if you want to know about shutting down the government, go right over there and talk to Chuck Schumer, go talk to Harry Reid, go down to 1600 Pennsylvania and talk to the President. We’re here to talk about the incredible fiscal irresponsibility.

And I gotta tell you something. Why would I want to sit down and compromise with people who enhanced this problem we have in America with the three years of deficit spending – 1.42 trillion, 1.29 trillion, 1.65 trillion. The debt in the past four years has gone up 5 trillion dollars. Why do I want to listen to people like that. Because I don’t think that they are going to give me any good solutions.

The bottom line is this: we have got to turn this ship around. I am not going to lower my standards, I am not going to do anything but stand upon the values you sent me up her for!

For twenty two years you asked me to do one simple thing. You asked me to always protect your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. You asked me to guard the great symbols of this country. In November of 2010 you gave me the privilege and honor of to take off a uniform, put on a suit and tie and continue to serve you.

I will continue to protect you. I will continue to protect your life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. I will not let you down!

God bless you all, God bless America, and thank you to the tea party.

The more I Hear this Man the more I Like-This is a no nonsense straight up Patriot. He is only one vote but his voice is powerful. In the comming months this is someone to watch. This could get very interesting.

  • Spirit

I do not see anything not-ready about this great man. He’s ready.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=504624590 Chris G.

Maybe so, but part of me would sure love to see him become Speaker of the House some day, & THEN run for POTUS after getting some experience in DC.

      • Anonymous

I thought the same way about getting more experience on Washington, but I no longer believe we have the time for it. We need him NOW. Obama has deliberately sabotaged America will continue to do deliberate more harm as much as possible before leaving office

      • Spirit

Chris: Yes he would be great as Speaker of the House. That’s rational, but we do not live in rational times. we are at the end-game and we need a good strong person to stop the bleeding of our constitution. Can you imagine the cabinet of noble people he would assemble?

        • Anonymous

Very and I mean VERY well said.

        • http://www.facebook.com/chris.null Chris Null

I agree with both sides. However how do you know who to trust to be in your cabinet if you have not been around for a while? That said if he ran for POTUS I would vote for him. Every time he speaks I get chills and feel that he is a good honest person. Pray that we find more like him.

“Allen West was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Herman and Elizabeth West. His father and older brother were both career military officers: His father served in World War II, and his brother served in Vietnam. His mother was a civilian employee of the United States Marine Corps. West joined the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program in the 10th grade and entered the US Army in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee. West was the third of four consecutive generations in his family to serve in the United States armed forces.”

“West received his bachelor of arts degree from University of Tennessee and his master’s degree in political science from Kansas State University. He also earned a master of military arts and sciences degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory and military history and operations.”

“West served in the Army in Iraq and was a civilian adviser in Afghanistan. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army”

“After retiring from the U.S. Army, West moved his family to Florida and taught high school for a year. He then spent two years working for Military Professional Resources Inc., a defense contractor. While with MPRI, West served in Kandahar, Afghanistan as a “regional director.” In that capacity, he was an adviser to the Afghan National Army.”

Sounds like he’s qualified and ready to be President to me!

        • Anonymous

And he is a Christian, against abortion, and knows islam. I don’t know what else people want. He is the ONE to take the WH BACK. The media will be challenged to come up w/crap to dis him with, oh I know they will do it, but it will be a little harder for them. That would bring me such joy.

        • mikemm

But wait. Isn’t important that he becomes a qualified “community organizer” before becoming President?

          • Anonymous

            no.

Hmmmmm…ACORN is a nut. It was organized by the BROWN CLOWN, And as we all know…birds of a feather flock together. If you lay down with dogs you WILL get up with fleas. What we have in the white house is a flea bitten Heinz 57 variety mongrel mutt with NO PAPERS ! Sounds like a trip in the back of a truck over to animal control for extermination ! Spay and neuter ALL liberals. We MUST rid our society of these liberal vermin. It’s rather odd don’t you think that we don’t see these liberal nit wits trying to leave America and go to a communist/socialist country. I wonder why they don’t ? If I’m sitting in a movie and I don’t like it I get up and leave. I wish the liberals would.

      • TexasT

        Chris,

Some experience in DC? We’ve all been seeing what experience in D.C. does to people. There’s obviously something in the ____ water up there or coming through the air vents that’s creating little Nero’s! Why the ___ would we want to expose Mr. West to “experience” in D.C.? Look what our “experienced”, elected officials in Washington have done to us! No, no Mr. West! Don’t be getting any “experience” in Washington. Oh and Chris…pass down some of whatever you’re smokin, so I can zone out too!

here are my thoughts: i wouldn’t mind him being pres- the thing is, i support palin over him because she has experience in an executive roles as mayor and governor so that’s the major reason i prefer her in the presidential seat. but if not her then my 2nd choice for pres would be west!!! and right now he’s my vp choice with palin. they would be a great team. both patriotic and strong on the constitution, both very firm in their beliefs and not afraid of anyone. whether it’s palin or west or both, these two are going to be powerful forces in our country!!

      • Anonymous

Palin? Sorry, but please stop drinking the cool aid.

Me neither. At present, there are two individuals I’m ready to bust my ass for to send to the White House, and Rep. West is one of them.

If we had a small group of Republicans like him, with the same integrity, we wouldn’t be passing these CR that basically allow spending to continue as it was before the new Congress. The Republicans are in control of the house, but are too cowardly to use that control to try to fix this country- instead they allow things to continue as though no elections had taken place.

That was really good and covered a lot of ground in 2 minutes.

    • iron patriot

Herman Cain is someone else to watch for. Last I heard, he said there’s a 70% chance of him running. My dream ticket would be Cain as president, Palin as vp, and I know he wouldn’t be on the ticket, but West as house speaker. If any trio could undo what the “unholy trinity” of Obama, Pilosi, and Reid has done… It would be them.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XWOKX663GQQ7ZDIBKPXQS3IUKY Mike

I wish Allen West would put us out of our misery and announce he is running for president.

We need this man in the White House.

Can you imagine how he would tear Obama to pieces in a debate?

    • Anonymous

It would be so sweet to see them debate. West’s machismo would cause Obama to wilt in his seat and tremble!

      • Spirit

He’d be succinct in a debate, and Obama could just reply “present.” It would be authentic. America needs authenticity.

  • D4Liberty

Mr. Alan West is FANTASTIC! We need him and more like him, Bachmann, Rubio, DeMint, etc., in the House and Senate. There is much work that we need them for in Congress with Sarah Palin as Pres.

    • Anonymous

If we didn’t have the likes of obama normally I would agree, but this country is in crisis and needs a LEADER. I know people love Sarah, but Allen West is a shoe in if he would run.

Give Rep West time to build a legislative voting record. The vast majority of the comments here are embarrassingly “star gazed”. I’ve really enjoyed the exposure of this fine patriot; both before, and now after the 2010 election. It dismays me to see the zombie, “movie star” fawning for pol’s that need to show legislative deeds FIRST, not just eloquent speeches ( no matter how much we are in agreement to West’s sentiments). Same thing happened, on this site, with Chris Christie. I’ve got one quick question for Col West: Why did you not join the TEA Party Caucus in the House ? No doubt that this man is a patriot…..

    • Spirit

I would like to defend myself from being put into the fawning category. I have followed Col. West for over a year and heard a dozen speeches, not one. While it is true we have not seen his votes or his strengths as a legislator with the difficult job of passing meaningful legislation, we who have been watching have had the opportunity to see his intelligence, wit, courage, integrity, and his core of honor.
You are correct, however, to warn (some others) against becoming “fans” of new politicians who have not proven their mettle on the political floor. That’s what happened in 2008 for the highest office of the land: people became fans and forgot that their “savior” had but a brief, thin resume.
We who love Col. West and know he is a pillar of strength to help right the course of our country ought to refrain from making him a sex object or “star.” I do not like him because he is gorgeous; I like him because of the truth that, with him, flows trippingly from the tongue, as Hamlet would put it.

Dang that was good! He’s been listening to my conversations! After being called names by people in my own Republican party because I’m a Tea Partier, it feels good to hear Mr. West say those words. Hell, right here where I live, I was relegated to a lowly position because I am a Tea Partier. Let’s talk about that! The Republican Party in my senate district couldn’t ignore me because I continued to be faithful and helpful anywhere they needed me. I joined Republican groups and have done all kinds of volunteer work for the Republican Party. So, they decided to make me an officer of a particular Republican organization. Then, they found out I was a Tea Partier and man oh man, the shtf! I was told in no uncertain terms that the Republicans are where they are because of who they are! Not because of the Tea Party! I have to say, I’m pretty proud of myself! I showed amazing self control! Not one glass was thrown, not one insult was hurled by me! I kept right on doing what I was supposed to be doing. Yep! I think this soldier’s ready! And I think Allen West is the man I’m gonna be voting for in the 2012 election.

  • restlesspatriot

Thank you, Allen West, a man of honor and courage. We need you now more than ever. Have the courage of George Washington and lead us to a new revolution.

An honorable man indeed. the only problem I can see is that the powers that be will not allow West to run. The people behind this great fleecing of America can not allow a man like Colonel West to gain power. He did not say it specifically, but he imply it. He admitted that he hasn’t proved himself in the House of Representatives yet. I would love to see a Chris Christie/Allen West ticket in 2012, but I know that is wishful thinking. I am afraid we are stuck with a RINO next year.

        • Cheryl~

Initially he definitely alluded to the fact that he hasn’t proved himself but then he ended it with…but if God wills! So I took that as…well, I don’t think I am ready but if God tells me to do it then I will…so I think it is still a possibility!
