A lot of this interview is par for the course, where West defends the leadership in this current crisis and also explains what he doesn’t like about this deal.

But when Greta starts complaining that the House waited until the last minute to get this done, just to create another extension because they always disagree, West said this:

Well I tell ya Greta, give me the opportunity to be in leadership in Washington DC and I think you’d see something different. Because coming out of the military, we didn’t go home until the mission was complete. So maybe that’s what the American people need to understand. It’s about time we take a chance with some of the young leaders that we have sent to Washington DC and move away from this establishment rhetoric and this game that they play in Washington DC.

Exactly. Put West in as Speaker and we’ll see real leadership. That would be an awesome day.

Here’s the full interview:

I’ll take a chance on you Col. West! I’ll GLADLY take a chance on you sir…You’ve had my upmost respect and confidence anyways, might as well take it to the max and LEAD the House!

The GOP as it is today is a failed institution. I can no longer support them..
It is simply a waste of time.

    • Anonymous

Than go support Obama. If you vote third party or don’t vote at all it is a vote for Obama and socialism. I know we would all like to. It just is not the right time. We have to swallow our pride and support who ever the Republican candidate is. Again the field is not that of what most of the “True” conservatives want. That is just the plain fact about it. It is either going to be a Republican or Democrat in office when the election comes around.

With this new political awakening in America, “We the People” have to fight to take back our country, and Demand that the three branches of government operate as they should. Plant your feet in the soil and get ready to push. Push that we get a nobody (West, Rubio, Chaffetz) in as speaker or in influential parts of the house. We have been pushed for so long in to believing so many false hoods it is now time we understand the constitution and push back. Even if that means taking a few days off work, to go to town hall meetings, vote. We don’t need to belong to a party; that does not mean our voice won’t be heard, because there are more of us in this country than one might believe.

I just want to add again that, we need not only elect a president, which is what everyone is talking about. We also need to make sure we take the house and the senate by a 2/3 majority also. We need to wake not only the Democrats up, we need to Rock the typical RINO Republicans and let them know we aren’t going to take it anymore. This is the election to turn it all around.

The last election made history. Let’s make this election another election of history. The history of when America told the world we are here, we are still the light for the world, we ARE A FREE PEOPLE OF A REPUBLIC not a democracy.

        • Anonymous

Well said. I agree 100% If we don’t take our country now, I’m not sure if we will ever have another opportunity.

But taking the country back will require Sacrifice form every quarter.

“we ARE A FREE PEOPLE OF A REPUBLIC not a democracy.”

Don’t get me wrong here, I DO agree that we need to support the Republican this time around. However, this mantra about voting independently being a vote for the enemy is ridiculous. First of all, it is chanted EVERY election- by BOTH parties, which kind of nullifies the truth in it. If all the people that have parroted this BS every election year would have voted independently, I have no doubt an Independent (or 3rd party) would have won by now. This mantra is a tool used by the establishment on both sides to stupify voters and they can always rely on the fact that there will be people who believe it, out convincing others of it.

If we are to believe that we always have to support the bipartisan establishment, it will always be in power. People need to wake up. The duopoly in Washington DC is not as polar as you think. They intentionally do enough on each side to ensure the voters will at least pick one or the other- and nothing in between.

We cannot be “free people” unless we are also free thinkers. Eventually, people will have to figure out that no matter what the pundits say, we HAVE to vote for a solid 3rd party. It is the ONLY way we will get more options. The DNC and RNC always choose for us- one or the other, is not much of a choice.

I agree we need to support the Republican, but ONLY because too many other people in this country keep believing the garbage about 3rd party votes being a waste. Essentially, everyone who says that and repeats it as if they know what they are talking about- is telling everyone else that “your opinion doesnt matter, you must support MY decision.” They are fear mongering, they are a puppet for the establishment- either out of fear, misinformation, or because they truly believe in the establishment’s agenda to keep “more of the same”- forever.

I am going against my own principles this time, because I believe we have to ensure we have enough votes to get rid of Obama. We need enough votes to beat the morons, the illegal voters, and the electoral cheats that are a guarantee under this administration.

I just hope in the future, the People will discard this mantra, of 3rd party voting being a waste or a vote for the enemy, because it simply isnt true. If everyone voted for the best candidate, its a guarantee that a 3rd party would win- because MOST Americans are centrists, and the extreme left and right would be outnumbered IN REALITY.

To believe much will change with the GOP’s choice is a shot in the dark. After all, look at how our Republicans have pulled the wool over our eyes again, to get elected, only to go back to “business as usual.” It’s a conspiracy against the Republic. Both Parties are in on it.

          • Anonymous

I’m afraid I have to disagree with you. Democrats/Liberals may yell about voting for someone else (although I’ve never heard them, except the whisperings right now) but when Conservatives say they won’t vote for the Republican candidate, they either don’t vote for him or they vote for a 3rd party candidate. If both sides were to vote for 3rd party candidates who are dissatisfied with the present ones it isn’t the Democrats who will go third party it will be the Republicans. The Dems will stick with the candidate whut brung ‘em. At that rate we could have Democrat rule until the whole country crashes, which I’m afraid will be soon if Obama gets a second term.

      • K-Bob

Why on Earth would you suggest he go support Obama?

Hey, I don’t support the GOP either. I’m not in their stupid party, and I don’t ever donate to their stupid committees. They can go pound sand.

You want me to vote for Obama, too?

        • Anonymous

What I was trying to do was paint a picture. If he does not support “who” ever the candidate may be. Then he minus well be voting for Obama? Did you really not get that from the post? I guess I have to spell it out. I don’t like it either it is just the “reality” we live in.

To not vote; because of “selfish” reasons is basically a vote for Obama. Besides if you don’t vote you have nothing to complain about. It will fall on deaf ears, to me anyway.

          • K-Bob

He didn’t say he wasn’t voting.

            • Anonymous

He edited his post. Don’t playcate me boy!

              • Anonymous

Hey “boy”, the word is placate, and if you are referring to my post I did not edit squat…

Don’t even attempt to presume you can tell me or anyone else who to vote for.. Got That…

                • Anonymous

Yawn! i’m bord with you. Take it for what you mean it to be. If you feel I am trying to “tell” you who to vote for than go pound sand for all I care. You mean nothing to me or the election!

                • Anonymous

                  lol… right…

And by the way the word is “bored”..

                • Anonymous

Why are you “TRYING” to antaganize me? The only thing you can do is point out my miss spelled words. You have no substance. If my Novel has not explained my self clearly, than words fail me. This has turned in to a you said, I said argument where the whole of the argument has no substance in it self. Are you mad because I am right? or what? Please enlighten me. I can think of nothing more to say on the matter, I have defendend my actions and words (even though they didn’t need defending) as clear as I can. Yet all you can do is attack me on my spelling, Which tells me what kind of person you are and what kind of argument you are trying to produce. So; Please find all this miss spelled words in this post since you can not come up with an argument against what I have declared. Get overyourself. People can read and judge for them selfs, what I was trying to insinuate. Yet you are the one that made it persinal. Which tells me you don’t have an argument against it.

How do you want me to respond to that? How do I respond to stoopid?

                • Anonymous

Let me help you out here.

There is a neat little application that runs here when you are writing a post. It is called “Spell Checker” .
It is what makes the little red squiggly line under some words appear. If you “right click” on the word with the red line under it, it it can be used to correct any spelling mistakes .
Maybe you need to adjust some settings in your browser if you do not see this. But it does work fairly well.

I am quite sure that MOST people that post here use it regularly…. I use it all the time myself…

                  Merry Christmas!

                • Anonymous

                  Quote from lapitup:

                  “Yawn! i’m bord with you.
You mean nothing to me or the election!”

Obviously…. this is mildly amusing… lol..

                • Anonymous

You remind me of a teacher I hated in school. We are going to be judged how we judge other people. Have a mary christmas.

                  Merry Christmas lapitup…

                • http://www.facebook.com/DifferentlyDriven Sherry Pigeon

lol oh you’re sweet but man you got to get yourself a spell checker!

                • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1082041161 Meno Tellinu

I bet the teacher you hated was your English teacher, right? Too bad, he/she was probably only trying to teach you something. Might have saved you from the criticism you get when you post messages online. Might have helped your message seem more credible too.

                • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000462873912 Fran Lannom

I’ve come to the party late, but I can tell you this, lapitup — your remarks would be much more credible if you would learn to spell!

                • K-Bob

I don’t mind spelling errors. I only care about the framing of the ideas and arguments. We get a lot of folks in here for whom English is a second (or third, etc.) language. Also a lot of folks commenting via thumbing in stuff on their phones.

And good, old-fashioned typos, of course.

So spelling suffers. But a well-formed idea shines through bad spelling.

Folks do need to watch the accusations, though. It’s easy for anyone to read what actually happened, after all.

                • http://www.facebook.com/DifferentlyDriven Sherry Pigeon

I like your mindset but you should check your spelling. When its wrong it makes you look ignorant.

                • Anonymous

I usually check it in word, The computer I was on at the time didn’t have it. So I just posted it. Besides that I only spell as good as word does. If I was writting a book or something for the paper I could see how it would look ignorant. However this is an everyday blog and I could give a —- less.

                • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1082041161 Meno Tellinu

lapitup doesnt have a firm grasp on grammar, let alone reality. I would have suggestion that he not use big words if he can’t spell them, but he is having difficulty with the little words too. Spelling ability isn’t everything, but it does show the deficit in public education since the government took it over.

If he wants to use big words, and in a quick scan it looks like he knows the correct use of the words (emphasis on “quick scan”), maybe he should take up public speaking, and leave the writing to the writers.

Unfortunately, his message doesn’t lend much credibility to his intelligence either. Parroting the talking points of pundits shows an inability to think for oneself -maybe he could be a propaganda voice for the duopoly? The DNC and GOP are always looking for people that cannot discern truth, or just dont care about truth. They LOVE people that can deliver their misinformation to the masses and deliver it convincingly, as if they believe it themselves.

                • Anonymous

I have already “ADMITTED” I don’t know how to spell. Yet; if your intellect tells you that I don’t understand words, than that makes you a re-tard. You don’t know me, why do you presume you do? Is it Because of the spelling? Give me a break that just makes you ignorant. Everyone is talking about “Scan” or something; I don’t see it on my computer or this web page. I can’t believe I am being attacked like this over my spelling? All you guys act as if I am the only one in the world who spells this bad. Get over yourself. Do you really put yourself on a higher realm then because of that? It boggles my mind. My mother always told me you can’t understand crazy! Since I can’t seem to wrap my mind around it; it must be crazy. Ben Franklin said; “When we die, we aren’t going to be asked if we know all the names of the stars.” Meaning we aren’t going to be asked if we can spell every word in the dictionary either.

Since you know me so well, I would like you to tell me what talk show host has even mentioned what I talked about? Because I listen everyday to Beck, some Hannity. That is it. I have yet to hear them talk about this subject. So instead of saying that my post does not have any credibility, and I can’t think for myself (even though this is my own thought) why don’t you yourself come up with a “Credible” post and back up what you say about a total stranger.

All you people want to pick on a total stranger and make enemies with him/her over there spelling. Who would want to go around making enemies like that or trying to aggravate people. I can only think of one person “the devil” If you want an advisory you got one. What does that mean to you? Probably as much as your posts mean to me.

            • http://www.facebook.com/DifferentlyDriven Sherry Pigeon

He said he wouldn’t vote for a republican. Comprehension isn’t your fine point is it. If you don’t vote, or you vote for someone other than a republican you are then voting in essence for Obama. That is what he is saying plain and simple. And it is true.

              • K-Bob

He said he didn’t edit the comment. Nowhere in it did he say he wouldn’t vote (Republican or otherwise). If He wrote something different AFTER my comment, that’s your problem, not mine.

If you need further assistance following threads, please ask.

                • Anonymous

The whole thing about spelling is it is off the subject. I am working on my spelling and grammar and will always be, I am not the only one in the world that does not know how to spell. So get off your high horse all of you grammar experts out there. You know what Mark Twain said about spelling? “I pity the man who only knows how to spell one way”? Maybe my brain just doesn’t connect letters as yours does. If that makes me stoopid in your eyes, then so be it. I don’t care you, and you don’t know me.

Since you still have not come up with a good argument against mine I take you as naive or stoopid. Again you can only attack my grammar and spelling yet you still have not come up with an argument against what I wrote. With your communistic looking picture up there; I take it you don’t agree with me at all anyway. I only wish I could put you on an ignore list, but we will meet again, and the only thing you will do is attack me on my spelling. Cuz it is the only thing you can do.

                • K-Bob

Show me where I attacked your spelling or grammar.

A vote for Romney and his big government Republican version of Leftism is a vote for socialism, too!

I am so SICK of this RINO capitulation by the die hard party types.

I am so sick of being told by the media and party establishments who I should vote for or its MY fault that statism prevails.

John McCain lost! George W. Bush and the liberal Reps sucked! Bob Dole lost! George H.W. Bush lost! Ford sucked! Nixon sucked! (Not because of Watergate).

The legacy of RINO’s is littered with the dead political excuse of guilt thrown on the true consevative voter.

I say to you, lapitup, “I’ve had enough! YOU SHALL NOT PASS!”

        BS
Don’t Tread On Me and screw the communist in the White House and screw the RINO GOP establishment for always laying the guilt on me as to why we lose!

        • Anonymous

I am not a diehard Republican; I am a diehard Conservative. I happen to dis-agree with you, a vote for “NEWT and his big government Republican version of leftism is a vote for socialism, too!” I didn’t even say anything about Romney. Come up to my level to see me! To talk to me!

“I am so SICK of this RINO capitulation by the diehard party types.
Did you even read my post? Good hell!

“I am so sick of being told by the media and party establishments who I should vote for or it’s MY fault that statism prevails.” The fact of the matter is; if you read my post (Should I even respond to this because it is obvious you did not). The fact of the matter is (even though “I” don’t like it) it is and will be either a Republican or Democrat in office. “THIS TIME AROUND” There is no getting around “NO THIRD PARTY” candidate can win “period”. That is just the “REAL” world I am talking about. WTH; I think you and I agree on a lot of things, I am just a realist and am spitting the truth. If you don’t like it, there is nothing more I can do to sympathize with you. I am anything but establishment and your personal attacks are not helping.

“John McCain lost! George W. Bush and the liberal Reps sucked! Bob Dole lost! George H.W. Bush lost! Ford sucked! Nixon sucked! (Not because of Watergate).”
Besides the fact I would say all of them “sucked”. No argument here.

“The legacy of RINO’s is littered with the dead political excuse of guilt thrown on the true conservative voter.” I couldn’t have wrote it better myself.

“I say to you, lapitup, “I’ve had enough! YOU SHALL NOT PASS!” I will not pass what? Go, I will not collect $200.00. Give me a break, read my post next time and try to use excerpt some brain cells.

          “BS
Don’t Tread on Me and screw the communist in the White House and screw the RINO GOP establishment for always laying the guilt on me as to why we lose!”
          Again, no argument here.
“PS Edit – John McCain was my last RINO vote. I will protest with a write in vote until the GOP is purged of the very statism they claim to fight against.”
Ok here is where the problem lies. We all know any candidate will be better than Obama. We all know that this country will not last another year of Obama in office. So you are willing to throw away your vote in protest of what “IS” the name of the Republican establishment. It is funny how you mentioned mitt as the Rino. When he is the second candidate up there that has spent less time in office than the other candidates. See, I think Newt is the most progressive guy on the stage. Yet I will still vote for him if he gets the nomination, Because I “know” for a fact if I vote 3ed party or write in a name, or not vote, (is really a vote for Obama) which was what I wrote in my original post. That is just the fact of life, I “know” it bites but it’s the reality we live in.

I do however have hope for the future. I do believe the Republican Party and establishment is going through a civil war right now, like the Democrats had around 2006-2008. The Republican Party is either going to become more conservative or it will fail or a new party will take its place that is more conservative. The lines in the sand are being drawn; In the future the contrast is going to even be clearer than it is today. Yet that is not “Reality” that we live in thus far. I feel Ya, brother, we are in a mess but frankly, I am tired of hearing people say they just aren’t going to vote if it is Romney, Newt, or Paul. Whoever it is we need to stand “TOGETHER” and support them.

If you continued to read my second post I went on to say. Who gives a crap who the next president is, It could be Obama. If we had 2/3 majority in the House and 2/3 majority in the senate we could “FINALY” hold whoever is precedent’s feet to the fire make him responsible for his actions. The only problem with the Presidency is Appointing judges. If Obama those (Socialist) judges are going to be “Making” not “Enforcing” law for the next 30-40 years. There is so much on the line I cannot even to explain it here in this small post, But my point is we have got to start somewhere and the Republican Candidates are going to be our only choice. I know they aren’t the best and are not “my” first choice but it’s all we have.

          • Anonymous

Lapitup, there were no personal attacks. I called you no names. I simply said I’d had enough and laid out the reasons why. And yes, I read your post.

You told the poster to go vote for Obama and I just can’t stand that failed logic. Did the Abolitionists vote Whig when they didn’t get their way to end slavery?

A lawn gnome is better than Obama but I say that’s no comfort. -3 > -10 but they are both negative! “Better” is not good enough. The time has come for the Great Purge to begin.

Agreed, But if you just want it your way, It’s not going to fly. You don’t have to convince me of that. You have to convince everyone ell’s before the election. It just is not possible. Like I said I am a realist. “you shall not pass” is a persanal attack. I took it to be anyway.

              • Anonymous

I want it my way? Yea! And you want it your way and the GOP wants it their way. It’s time for the balance of power to shift to consevatives like us. As long as we capitulate and vote for the RINO flavor of the year, they’ll never let go of their statist ambitions. This must be clear to all. Power always grows. It must be purged or allowed to fail. I want to be on the purge side of the equation, it is a position of strength and foresight. Better than Obama is not a campaign slogan that inspires. It’s weak and pathetic and devoid of meaning or vision.

                • Anonymous

I know where you are headed and we agree on the subject. Do you not agree? That? A vote for a third party candidate, is really helping Obama? Do you really think a Third Party candidate can be elected? Do you think a write in candidate can be elected? Do you really think either writhing in a third party candidate or voting for a third party presedent will make the GOP any less stronger? We have to start from somewhere, and these candidates are what we have to choose from. I don’t like it any more than you. That is just the reality of it.

Since a third party candidate is unelectable (Which we all know is true, even though we don’t want to believe it) than wouldn’t you agree that a vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Obama?

I would argue that if someone does write in a candidate or vote for Paul or Trump on a third party ticket that it would strengthen the GOP rather than show them you will not support them. Because if Obama gets elected again, the GOP establishment is just going to come out and say “I TOLD YOU SO”.

There is a right time to do things this is not the right time. I would rather have 4 years of Romney or Paul or Newt than 4 more years of Obama. I know its not the means to an end, it is what we have and it is a “Start”. It is what it is even if you take it to be “anything is better than Obama” which is all the GOP has going for them right now. I don’t like it anymore then you. I am just trying to identify the underlying problems, I get told I read too far into things, am I reading to far in to this?

The majority of people that will be voting INDEPENDENT will be Democrats who refuse to vote for a Republican, but have finally sobered up from the Obama Kool-aid drunk they were on.

Then you have the TRUE conservatives, which you claim to be, who will refuse to vote for a Romney or a Newt – both proven socialists.

So, if anything- THIS would be the time to vote for a 3rd party- IF a viable 3rd party candidate would surface. This candidate could NOT be someone as polarizing as Palin (the LEFT hates her) and it probably couldnt be Cain (because the establishment hates him). Ron Paul is constantly misquoted by the media where most of the country gets its political education, and he is running as a Republican because he stands for what the REAL Republican Party used to stand for and as recently as Bush II, they ran on those same policies (but showed his true socialist colors after he won). The reason Ron Paul gets such bad press is because BOTH parties FEAR him. He is anti-government.

If Ron Paul doesn’t give up this time, I will write in his name after the GOP proves again it is a fraud- if Romney or Gingrich is selected for the general election by the GOP. I MIGHT vote for Bachmann, but she is punch drunk on the whole RULE THE WORLD philosophy like the rest of them.

The flawed logic is that NOT voting, or voting for anything other than the GOP’s choice- is a vote for Obama. No, it isn’t. It would ONLY be a vote for Obama if it was cast FOR Obama. Because a non-vote or a 3rd party vote does not get credited to Obama, it gets credited to either no-one or the person it was cast for.

If there are 5 pieces of pie- Obama gets 2 and the Republican gets 2 and the 5th piece is given to the dog- the dog gets a little love too. And he should, because the DOG is the better friend to man than either of the other two!

            • http://www.facebook.com/DifferentlyDriven Sherry Pigeon

Now there is some flawed logic, since the abolitionist would have never voted for the opposite party. And the Northerns were in support of abolition while the southerners didn’t want the slaves to be free because it would have meant the end to free labor for them. They indeed did try and elect their own president as I recall and of course he ended up giving up his short lived title because Sherman burnt Georgia to the Ground. And laid the trail open for victory. Of course if you talked to Elisabeth Cady Stanton she would have told you all their trust we put in Lincoln at the time because they knew he would do it. Listen it is common political knowledge that if you vote for someone other than the Republican party when faced with a democrat you are wasting your vote. Because its like a dead vote. Now more than ever we need a united vote. A vote against Obama we must get him out of office. Frankly I think he should be impeached for all that he has done because he is absolutely seditious. First he tells the whole world we are arrogant, then he tells the Dali Llama that he cannot visit the white house, then he insults Israel’s prime minister, then he invites several terrorist into the White house for a party. He bows to foreign leaders like he himself is not a leader. He has more Czars up there on capital who are not being monitored God only knows what kind of regulations they are passing up there. It’s a nightmare of immense proportions and I am not just being dramatic. Arizona is sued for trying to protect its sovereignty and guns are given to the enemy. Then Obama calls a domestic terrorist in the Army who murdered 13 people in cold blood while yelling Allah Ackbar a domestic crime. Really, really!!!! The man is so corrupt that I fear that one more year with him in office will destroy us beyond anything we can imagine. The will be no one to rescue us we are hated by everyone. No one will rally to save us we will be alone to face destruction by ourselves and destruction of the American way is what he wants.

Could you imagine if he was speaker of the house? It might bring honor back to the legislative branch of the government! I gurentee he would lead, instead of cave.

Leadership with the added bonus of the butt-kick mentality! ^_^

  • Anonymous

i’ll nominate mr west as speaker. who will second the motion?

    • Anonymous

Second. If he won’t run for Pres/Veep, then we might as well get him into the Speaker’s spot where he can kick some butt and be able to speak his mind about the slackers.

      • B-Funk

Third! I agree so completely with both comments! I really prefer the Speaker-ship to VP personally, but I would absolutely LOVE to see him beat up on Joe Biteme in debates!

        • Anonymous

Ya, I’d like to see Newt as the Veep. Back in the day, the Veep was the attack dog and went after everyone the Pres didn’t want to stoop to. Of course, with Biden, it’s more like a Shih Tzu than an attack dog.

I watched this on TV and Greta seemed a tad rude to West. Then she had the blowhard Van Holland on (granted it was previously recorded) and told him she was going to be tough on him. She proceeded to toss him softballs and let him bloviate like only he can. Ticked me off just to watch it.

I may be a bit biased as Greta is rather difficult to stomach with her mile long, triple repetitive, boring comments.

    • Anonymous

Since Fox decided to take the “left” hand turn, I don’t watch them much any longer. It’s clear they are no longer fair and balanced. Too bad, as I used to enjoy their news programs, not all but the ones I liked I no longer watch.

      • Anonymous

How did Fox take a turn to the left? I haven’t been watching them as much as I used to, but did I miss something?

        • Anonymous

I don’t know what Maxine would say, but for me Greta has always leaned left, along with Shep and Geraldo. I heard Geraldo say once that he was 110% behind Bush because Bush was president and now he is 110% behind Obama because HE’S president. That’s about as stupid as 95% of black voters voting for Obama because he’s black and believing it was the right thing to do.

Billo has slipped to left of center to try to get another interview with Obama (just my opinion from observation) and he lets many things slip through the cracks nowadays. But perhaps he’s just full of himself more than anything.

          • Anonymous

See my response to Kong1967, our comments must have overlapped. I agree with all of your points. Wish I could give you 10 likes on that post!

            • Anonymous

Hehe, we must have been typing simultaneously. And that’s my big word for the night.

I hadn’t considered your points as to the reason, but it makes perfect sense when all put together.

            • Anonymous

Then again, perhaps it just appears they moved to the left when they replaced Beck with Beckel. Funny how two little letters can do that. :)

          • Anonymous

Ah, I see. I am aware of all three of those, but they have been on Fox for a long time and cannot represent a recent turn to the left. I can tolerate Shep and Greta, but Geraldo drives me up the freaking wall. He thought Casey Anthony was a victim….give me a break. That’s not the main reason, but it’s his logic that makes me want to throw something at the television.

Bill has always played soft on Obama. It should say something when O’Reilly is the only person on the right that can get an interview. Obama knows he will be treated with kid gloves.

Megan Kelly seems to veer left at times, but I think she tries playing devil’s advocate. Fox has “The Five” and “Red Eye”. My two favorite shows. Those are hardly left leaning.

            • Anonymous

I’m with you on those two shows. Must be the ‘Gutfeld’ in them!

              MaxineCA wrote:

I think that has a lot to do with any shift. They are little things and hard to catch, but it’s like that little gnat buzzing at your ear.

              • Anonymous

I love Gutfeld. I want to see more of him. Sometimes he looks as if he gets offended by Stinky Beckel and he really gives it back big time. They all call Beckel a womanizer, but by the looks of him I don’t see where he could even attract a woman.

            • Anonymous

Can you really stomach Beckel on “The Five”? I really respect all of the others, but simply can’t watch because of Beckel. I maybe missing a great program, but absolutely haven’t been able to watch anything that involves Beckel for a long time. But that’s just me.

I love Red Eye but unfortunately Fox is too busy running re-runs of their prime time programs, Red Eye doesn’t air until midnight on the west coast. By that time I’m already snoring!

              • Anonymous

I can’t, either. I don’t like seeing him on ‘The Five’ or on ‘Hannity’. He seems to be just a loud-mouthed, blowhard. That’s why I say maybe it’s just him in Beck’s old timeslot that makes me think the whole network has tilted looney. Optical illusion, perhaps?

I like how they just let ‘The Five’ open up in debate mode, so they need someone like Beckel there or it wouldn’t be fair and balanced.

BTW, the early arguments I used to have with my liberal associates (when they would scream that FOX was right-leaning and not fair and balanced) was to explain that BECAUSE the rest of the LSM was left-leaning, they needed someone like FOX to balance it out. They never seemed to understand.

                • Anonymous

Maybe if Fox replaced Beckel with Juan Williams I would watch everyday. I don’t always agree with Juan but at least he is always respectful and factual in his debates and not a pompous blowhard. That would still keep it fair and balanced and I would certainly tune in.

                • Anonymous

Juan is one of the few liberals I respect. I’m glad he stayed with FOX after the NPR incident. I agree he would be a better debater as the conversation would stay sane, but then you would miss the fun of the rest chewing on Beckel’s leg.

                • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TJLEKBRCNKRTAMAZVMOTLOQBVU Grinder74

Not really, Juan keeps pulling out the “McVeigh Was A Christian” line to try to show that not all terrorist attacks are by Muslims.

              • Anonymous

I can’t stand Beckel, but the others put him in his place pretty good….especially Gutfeld. I think you are missing a great program, but I understand the intolerance for Beckel. You’re missing some fantastic monologues by Gutfeld.

                Might be worth taping.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TJLEKBRCNKRTAMAZVMOTLOQBVU Grinder74

Not to mention that it’s physically impossible to be 110% anything–unless Geraldo’s mustache counts as a second person, and he’s stealing 10% of it to use for himself.

        • Anonymous

It started when Murdock got in deep doo doo in the UK with the hacking scandal. It must have been some kind of an agreement that they wouldn’t pursue charges here, but that was speculation when his new business direction was announced. Murdock’s new path was publicized in the business community & on the business networks.

I’ve noticed changes but that’s his business and he is free to take it down whatever path and business model he wishes to follow. I’m also free to hit the “power” button on my remote when they do so.

          • Anonymous

They still have “The Five” and “Red Eye”….two very conservative shows. I will be pissed if either of those get taken off the air.

I think Greta was purposefully obtuse on this. There was absolutely no criticism of the Senate for going home after changing up everything in the bill passed by the House. As far as I’m concerned, it is the Senate that created this entire dust-up. It was the Senate that went home but she’s acting like it was the House too …
This whole interview frosts my cookies.

      • Anonymous

Agreed. What grated me was she kept asking how long exactly did they know the extension was going to expire. Well, Greta, EVERYONE knew they were going to expire the day they passed the bill. Get real.

Ya, the whole thing was a political setup with the Senate, and Obama scores another coup over McConnell and Boehner. Give me Ryan, Cantor, West, Paul (Rand), etc and I think we can get some things done without Obama giving anyone a wedgie.

  • Anonymous

I agree that Col. West SHOULD be in a high leadership posisition. While It is doubtful he would rise to Speaker before serving a second term. I see him in the next Congress in Cantors spot, the #2. After that?

I think WE THE PEOPLE, need to start an online petition grassroots campaign to oust Congressman John Boehner and vote Congressman Allen West for Speaker of the House of Representatives. Who’s with me???

I was talking to my father, just before listening to this, how Lucy and Charlie is the democrat strategy. They put forward things they do not really care about just to trip up Republicans. If I were Boehner I would send everything back to the Senate with a note–let’s get the budget finished first. Also, it is interesting that it is called a payroll tax not FICA (the money that is supposed for the SS trust fund).

The Republican establishment, that has seen the likes of Spector and McCain, cannot remain, for it is they, that have been part of the problem. I see it as a temporary win for Obama. They made the House Republicans look like it was their fault the bill wasn’t going to pass. Typical twist/spin to say the Repubs were against the American people. A lot of people are not as informed as those on this website and will buy the bologna (for now) that O is dishing out. The truth will come out eventually and I think that will cause them to lose the Senate in 2012, just like they did the House in 2010. One can only hope.

The irony is, the Republicans should have held out until next week. I can’t imagine the Democrats really wanting to go home and defend their 2 month extension instead of the year that was offered.

If we had a free press, they’d certainly press the Democrats on why the Senate hasn’t passed a budget in over 1000 days. Alas, all we have is the propaganda wing of the Democratic party disguised as a free press.

If you have never been to DC then you have no idea how deeply liberal, Democrat and unionized the place is. And that includes the media. Especially the media. Changing leadership won’t help because even if West changed water into wine, the media would not report it and/or report it like this: “West and the horrible Republican conservatives have poluted the water supply because they want to poison children and keep women from watering their flowers….OH THE IN-HUMANITY!” Only a full scale taxpayer revolt will really change anything….i.e. we, the one’s who do pay taxes, refuse to do so (by the millions) until federal expenditures are brought into alignment with receipts and those are brought back within Constitutional limits. It’s the only way short of the “other” kind of revolution…

    • Anonymous

      You are correct.

We elected Allen West and the other ‘New Turks’ to CHANGE Washington. More power to them.

Both the Establishment GOP and the Democrats got us to where we are today. The Democrats set the daily political discussion…and the Establishment GOP, always on their heels playing Defense, respond. Then the Democrats start the cycle over again.

The Establishment GOP has been more about Statesmanship, compromise, getting along, and cocktail parties. We need new leadership in Washington.

If Allen West and the other ‘Freshman’ in Washington are ‘slowing down’ or even halting the ‘progress’ of Congress…they are doing just what we sent them there to do…!!! Stop all this spending.

Historically, a smooth running Congress has allowed Government to grow out of control, allowed the budget to outpace revenues, and has done nothing to control the Debt. Maybe these uncontrollable ‘Freshman’ are our last hope…until 2012 when we can get them some more like minded Americans willing to Serve the People.

I could think of no better person to lead this Change than Allen West, if he would accept the charge.

  • Anonymous

Mr. Boehner, take a good hard look at Colonel Allen West because HE is what a leader looks like.

    • Anonymous

West is a leader of men. Boehner is a don, the head on one of the various organized crime families that control the central government.

I have found it is far easier to understand the behavior of the political class by looking at them as competing organized crime families than as competing political parties. From that perspective everything Boehner does makes perfect sense.

Organized crime families’ common enemy is law enforcement. The political class’ common enemy is us – the people.

A freshman has to decided to kiss the ring or be sent to look out the window. I put my confidence in West to survive up there long enough to oust the dons.

We cannot compromise our votes. I will only vote for Constitutional conservatives who know that our enemy is our federal government. Any successful “experienced” insider has kissed the ring and can never go back to building a government by the people and for the people.

Allen West has voted for some real crap too, so maybe he should check his own voting record out first. We need new leadership, but we need people who actually vote for smaller government, not people who just talk a big game.

  • http://www.okiepatriot.blogspot.com/ Greywolfe

We took a chance on him, expected him to stand his ground and he became a rubber stamp for the speaker on all things fiscal. I really don’t see that he’s got the cajones to be speaker and buck the system. I really wish that he’d show some backbone, and vote against this nonsense, but he hasn’t in the (almost) year that he’s been in office, so I don’t see why he would stop “going along to get along”, as they say, and all of a sudden become a leader in the House. I just don’t see it. Words mean something, but actions mean EVERYTHING.

      Right on!! (Unfortunately)

Indeed! West for Speaker. Lt. Col West comes from one of the only parts of government that actually accomplishes things and completes the mission as long as it is NOT micromanaged by DC in every tiny detail.

Why did he not object to unanimous consent and force a vote? Just asking. I like West but does not appear that he is bucking the system as much as he is going along and then talking about the system. That is not what he was elected to do. I thought he was a fighter. Step up West, I may be having second thoughts about your leadership abilities. STOP THE SPENDING!

Share your concerns exactly!! I even worked on his campaign, but hae to say I’m disappointed. ACTIONS is what counts!!

I wanted Michelle Bachman to be Speaker.

It was going to be paid for by the homeowners, home buyers and those who want to refinance with higher fees. Whether it is a fee or a tax, it is still a three letter word that takes money form the citizens. Social Security needs to be privatized and then they could get rid of the FICA tax altogether.

FICA tax wouldn’t be removed, just sent to your private account. At least it would be a useful deduction rather than a mere IOU.

I want to completely privatize Social Security. It would have to be done over time. The Government should not be in the business of retirement plans.

I thought Greta was out of line. The House passed a bill, so why was she blaming them?

Lead the House, my eye! Lead the Country — from the Oval Office!

Impeach Obama! He is a seditious traitor.

C’mon guys. Americans are notorious for having awfully short attention spans. I know that part of it is the habit of having complicated things be explained, and solved in 60 minutes on TV EVERY night. So, we expect the equivalent to happen even in the largest terms. We want our wars to last a month or two, and the Ron Pauls to fix everything (without a continuing change in Congress) in a year or so. This isn’t the same as getting your wives to change their minds and let you play poker with the guys this Saturday. There is a DEEPLY entrenched leadership system in Congress, and throwing a well intended Libertarian into the Oval Office and actually expecting everything to be fixed in 60 minutes, is the height of arrogance…or ignorance. Americans love to think we are so sophisticated, but we have deluded ourselves into believing sound bytes and polls are all we need to make good public policy decisions.

“Put West in as Speaker and we’ll see real leadership. That would be an awesome day.”

    Speaker? No.

I have been praying for over a year that he is our next president. Can you imagine a West/Rice or West/Rubio ticket? Our country would survive AND thrive. Lt. Col. West was born for this job, and we need him NOW.

Sounds good to me. I’d support my local dog catcher as speaker over Boehner.

Where is Bob Dornan when we need him?!

A good place to start would be to get rid of anyone (Allen West) who voted for the recent NDAA bill.
