Below is the article:

“…we discussed the fact that Ho Chi Minh was actually inspired by the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the words of Thomas Jefferson.”

— President Obama talking to reporters alongside Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang.

FOX NEWS – It may come as some unwelcome news to the families of the nearly 60,000 Americans who died in the Vietnam War that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding.

That was the impression President Obama gave on Thursday when he spoke to the press after his meeting with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang. Sang brought Obama a copy of a letter sent to President Harry Truman from Ho Chi Minh in which the communist dictator spoke hopefully of cooperation with the United States.

Obama, striking a wistful tone, observed that it may have taken 67 years, but the United States and Vietnam were finally enjoying the relationship that Ho once wrote of. After all, Obama said, Ho had been “inspired by the words of Thomas Jefferson.”

The message here was that if only we might have bridged our differences then – if only Ho and Truman could have done what Obama and Sang did this week, so much unpleasantness might have been avoided.

While Jefferson did get pretty fired up about “the blood of tyrants,” it’s hard to see how the Sage of Monticello inspired the murderous career of the Vietnamese dictator. Ho famously slaughtered his opponents, including the infamous butchery of peasant farmers who resisted his brutal taxation in the early days of Ho’s regime. Not particularly Jeffersonian.

Estimates run as high as half-a-million killed in Ho’s effort to consolidate power after his communist forces drove the French out of Indochina. The killing of landlords and bourgeois-class merchants was famous even in its day and since then has been documented in even more horrifying detail.

In Obama’s credulous citing of the Constitution as an inspiration, there is particular historical dissonance.

And those who carried his banner forward following his death in 1969 – he remains “Uncle Ho” even to this day – built upon his brutal regime. Following the final U.S. retreat from Vietnam untold thousands of Vietnamese, deemed collaborators by the regime, were put to death. He and his Leninist regime used V.I. Lenin’s tactics: murder, terror and “reeducation” to obtain, maintain and expand power.

Ho, whose preserved corpse lies in a glass tomb modeled after Lenin’s in Hanoi, was a seriously bad actor. Whether the United States should have sought to oust him or not or whether the war was rightly fought, Ho was not any heir to Jefferson and the Founding Fathers.

The problem with condescending Ivy League, Affirmative Action, punks like Dumb- Ø is that they got access to “The Club” without earning it. Therefore, they can not appreciate the effort  expended by our veterans for preserving freedom around the world.
Awarding the office of president to someone as undeserving as Obama is the same experience as renting your home to OWS and being shocked that you came home to find it was trashed.

    Mr. West
You beautifully articulate the words that Conservative want to hear but … something akin to RINOs … when it comes to walking the talk … when it come to following through with meaningful action … you fail big time.  In other words … the agenda of the Islamic appeasing/Marxist in the White House is furthered.
Your premature concession to Patrick Murphy following your failure to follow through on the investigation you initiated into obvious election fraud in Lucie County was the last straw for me.  This investigation had far reaching nationwide implication.  What/Who was the motivation to concede?

Concedes Defeat Despite Options Still Available

    Wednesday, 21 November 2012
    The Allen West for
Congress campaign issued a press release on Nov 20 conceding defeat. A
post-election audit in this contest could have national implications if it
uncovers significant illegal voting by ineligible voters, whether that be
because they are non-citizens, non-existent people, or people registered
multiple times. It would likely lead to similar post-election audits across the
nation. Conversely, if there was only minimal illegal voting in this contest,
the public has a right to verify that as well. Allen West’s decision to concede
the election without a post-election audit to check for potential illegal
voting may be one of the top 10 political blunders of 2012. The people who dug
deep into their pockets to donate the $17 million to his campaign deserve
    better.

Jayrae … respectfully how did that sit with you.  I am aware of many who were ticked off … who felt betrayed by the man we had considered God’s gift to the Conservative movement.

Conservatives have been deceived by RINOs time and time again.  It is so important that a candidate who represents himself/herself as a Conservative is vetted.  If what I have posted pertaining to Allen West is inaccurate … I am open to correction.  I sincerely want to believe that his words are representative his ideology and … God is about to raise him up to lead America.

        • ToiletMint

Tamikosmom therightscoop By vetted you must mean ground down and chopped up until he is so tired of being attacked by both the people he thought we on his side and the libtards who are obviously not. Because that’s what we conservatives do best. We kill the person, the messenger and the horse they rode in on when we find one thing we disagree on. Then we end up with someone who doesn’t really say or belive anything and lose the presidency….. twice.

        • ToiletMint

Tamikosmom therightscoop Furthermore, people thinking like yourself are the same people that didn’t vote for Romney because he was too liberal or a mormon. “Well if Ron Paul ain’t running then I ain’t voten.” “Romney is too much of a RINO, I won’t vote if he’s the candidate!” Good decision making skills conservatives! You sure showed him! Now we have Obama for 4 more years. What’s next? You going to stop voting altogether to teach the country a lesson? That’ll sure show them!

        • Tamikosmom

          ToiletMint Tamikosmom therightscoop

That is not what I mean.
Think about it.  If someone on this forum claimed that Marco Rubio was a Conservative who should be considered for the 2016 Presidential nomination … a Conservative who was deemed worthy of prayerful and financial support … would you take those claims at face value or … would it be wise for you to do some vetting prior to embracing Rubio?  Maybe his voting record on the issues would be a start.
TM … that is what I did with Allen West but only after putting my heart and soul into his November campaign and … in my opinion my research revealed that West’s voting record came up short on some very important issues.  I wish I had researched this man who had the ability to beautifully articulate what this Conservative wanted to hear prior to him prematurely conceding to Patrick Murphy … prior to throwing away the opportunity to expose not only election fraud in Lucie County but also nationwide.

        • ToiletMint

Tamikosmom ToiletMint therightscoop I understand what you meant but you’re missing the point. This might be shocking to you but he, nor I nor anyone else in the world will agree with you on everything.
You said “in my opinion my research revealed that West’s voting record came up short on some very important issues.”  My point is that your other choice would have been who? Yes you disagree somewhat on some things but I do know that many of his votes we in line with being a conservative. Don’t give up on people so quickly. That’s why we have a voice, that’s why we should call the elected officials office to let them hear and stay involved. It is much easier to influence someone who is mostly on your side of thinking than someone who is your polar opposite.
Don’t quit because that’s what conservatives are doing. Quitting. “This guy isn’t conservative enough!” Quitters. All of us, we don’t deserve to win elections. We give up too fast.

Check out “Conservative” Allen West’s voting record … Allen West’s voting record that can only be considered the definition of RINO.  Up until the last election when West prematurely conceded to Patrick Murphy while there were still options left to challenge in regards to voter fraud … I supported this man with my prayerful and financial support.  Never again.  I feel so let down.  However … I did learned from the betrayal.  Research must reveal that a candidate who is worth of my support must not just talk the Conservative talk … he must walk the Conservative talk.

“…we discussed the fact that Ho Chi Minh was actually inspired
by the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the words
    of Thomas Jefferson.”
As usual, Obama bends the facts to suit his agenda. Did Ho Chi Minh model his view of a free and independent Viet Nam after our Declaration of Independence? Actually yes, he did and Woodrow Wilson (D)  threw him under the bus, in favor of the Colonialist French, after WW1.
Though a world traveler and a committed socialist by the 1920’s, he was very much afraid of Chairman Mao and Stalin.
“The last time the Chinese came, they stayed a thousand years. The French are foreigners. They are weak. Colonialism is dying. The white man is finished in Asia. But if the Chinese stay now, they will never go. As for me, I prefer to sniff French shit for five years than to eat Chinese shit for the rest of my life.” — Ho Chi Minh, 1946

After WW2, he approached Truman (D) for support and was once again rebuffed in favor of the Colonialist French. Read the whole story  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ho_Chi_Minh
    I guarantee you Obama hasn’t. ;-) ;-)

        Bac Si68tinlizzieowner
Ho Chi Minh was a complicated and very well educated individual. And make no mistake about it, a Communist but he had one very simple goal in mind, from the beginning. A separate, independent, country of Viet Nam. He didn’t want to be ‘ruled’ by the French, he didn’t want to be ‘ruled’ by Stalin or Mao and he didn’t want to be ‘ruled’ by US either.
People always seem to forget, the rest of this world is ‘Tribal’. For centuries in Europe, the Brits hated the French, the French hated the Spanish, the Germans hated the Russians, they all hated the Jews, on and on. In the Middle east, the Sunni hate the Shia, the Shia hate the Copts, they all hate the Jews, on and on. In East Asia, The Japanese hate the Chinese, the Chinese hate the Koreans, the Koreans hate the Vietnamese, on and on.
BUT…. , the ‘tribal world’ has one universal thing in common. They will unite in a heartbeat to fight an ‘outsider’, (“the enemy of my enemy is my friend”). ;-) ;-)
Barack Obama is trying to ‘fundamentally transform’ the only true country of immigrants into a ‘tribal state’, in the communist mold. Black against White, rich against poor, Christians against Muslims, Secularists against the religious, on and on. It will be our downfall, if he accomplishes it. :-(

Jefferson was smarter than Obama (well Duh?). Jefferson also probably read ‘The Art of War’. ;-)
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself,
you will succumb in every battle”. http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1771.Sun_Tzu,

Suzyqpie Islam hasn’t made contributions to anyone’s life–no one on earth. There. Are you happy now? lol

A person of your lack of judgment and character would find something funny in all of this.
Why don’t you stay the he ll out of our business, we don’t need or want your leftist ideology infesting America anymore then it already has.

I am a Vietnam Era veteran. This mouth piece by o-bammy is not the only time he has attacked us, We are the veterans that served when NOONE liked us – o-bammy has tried to devalue our military benefits, etc.
But as we are witnessing now with o-bammies destruction of military values / national pride – one must take note that he is brainwashing the newer soldier, to train him/her to have NO problems turning on the American public, o-bammy is afraid of us.
I have news for o-bammy – WE are here, age has not destroyed us, and never forget – we are accustomed to fighting against the social norm.

Why should he apologize for telling the truth? If he told the truth, there’s nothing to be apologetic for! Ho Chi Minh quoted Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence extensively in his speeches! Because he was rallying support based on his plan to fight for independence from the French.
Thomas Jefferson literally had nothing to do with Ho Chi Minh quoting his work. After the Declaration of Independence was written, anyone could have quoted it. It was out there in public for all to see. How Ho Chi Minh being inspired by Jefferson reflects poorly on Jefferson is something I will never understand.

notpilgrims    I don’t disagree with you, but speaking as someone who was sent there to fight a war which our country had sent us to and at the time received no thanks for it, I think what the president did was to throw salt into old wounds.  Further, I don’t think his statement was said intentionally to hurt the feelings of Vietnam vets and their families, rather just another example of the his uncaring nature for any of the military.  What he said is like many other things he’s said trying to promote his above the fray all knowing liberal snotty tone.  Further, he has once again changed the rhetoric from the “phony” scandals which should take precedece rather than getting hung up on his uncaring nature.

    • ryanomaniac

Seriously. It was a disgraceful statement. To somehow put Ho and Jefferson in the same sentence and the same light is pitiful. I don’t give a rats ass if Ho quoted him or not. Ocrackho spoke of Ho as he deserved to be spoken about.

Simple, Ho the commie quoting Jefferson is what commies do – they regularly disguise their ideology and deceive other by what they pretend to be.  Stalin, Hitler, and every other dictator uses the words liberty, equality, etc.
Just as it is with Dear Leader – his words are meaningless, watch what he does.
To believe that this mass murderer wanted a genuine relationship with America is naive.
Likewise, to think that Ho became a commie and mass murderer because his overtures to the U.S. were rebuffed is naive.

Speaking of Ho Chi Minh quotes (you and Obama probably have never read). ;-)
“The last time the Chinese came, they stayed a thousand years. The
French are foreigners. They are weak. Colonialism is dying. The white
man is finished in Asia. But if the Chinese stay now, they will never
go. As for me, I prefer to sniff French shit for five years than to eat
Chinese shit for the rest of my life.” — Ho Chi Minh, 1946

Look.  If he can put Christmas ornaments of Chairman Mao on the Christmas tree without so much as a boo from the MSN why should this surprise anyone. I sat in on some of those bong sessions back in the 70’s after coming home and that’s this story about Ho and the Christmas tree ornaments were the norm.  What isn’t the norm is for a man to grow up and not take Churchill’s advice that to continue to be a liberal when you grow was indicative of having no brain.

    • volsense

americalsgt The biggest problem is the American people.  If they can be deceived by an obvious bullsh*t artist like Barry Soetero, then they are too stupid to vote for the leadership of this country.  When Barry said Trayvon Martin could have been me, it was probably the closest thing to the truth he has ever said.  At 17, Obama was a pot smoking street punk like Trayvon. In his own words he was stoned out of his mind his last two (2) years of high school, “it was a blur.”  Only in America..

  • mrterry50

“The message here was that if only we might have bridged our differences then – if only Ho and Truman could have done what Obama and Sang did this week, so much unpleasantness might have been avoided.”
The snooty, arrogant, Marxist leaning U.S. President can mess up a completely good opportunity to make good with our former enemies.
Instead of being a bridge builder, O’commie has now alienated American, Vietnam veterans.  Yes, its true that Ho Chi Minh tried to cooperate with the Americans and was turned down because we sided with our allies, the French.  Ho then went to Moscow for help.  However, an American president cannot apologize for America when dealing with foreign leaders.  You did not see Vietnamese President Truong Tang San apologizing for his nation.
Obama is like a cancer, which needs to be excised from the American body.

  • http://www.navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

No, I really think Obama deep down believes this. After all, it takes a communist to really know what another communist meant to say, right? Yup, Obama really DOES know what Ho Chi Minh meant to say. They are one and the same.

  • tinlizzieowner

You know what today is? It’s the day that Truman (D) signed an ‘Armistice’ with the North Koreans.
Another famous (liberal) Democrat, Woodrow Wilson signed an ‘Armistice’ with the Germans after WW1.
Quite coincidentally it was Wilson (who created the League of Nations and Truman (who created the United Nations), that both rebuffed Ho Chi Minh’s efforts to create a free and independent Viet Nam.
There was a Democrat in the White House at the beginning of 4 out of the 5 wars, in the 20th century. ;-)

    • tinlizzieowner

Correction, Eisenhower was elected President in 1953. So in essence, he pulled a ‘Nixon’ and ended another war the Democrats got us into. ;-) ;-)

I did two full tours of duty in Vietnam as an Infantry  Non-Com from 1967 to 1970. I saw a lot of “Uncle Ho’s handy work when I entered Villages and found the Village leaders, their, family and any local teachers or educated people staked upside down on trees and gutted from their genitals to their chest. Many of the women and girls had been raped before their murders.  Now I hear how our so called President can set down with these communist pigs and swap stories about Ho Chi Minh. God help the USA, we are doomed by this Manchurian candidate that you spineless liberals elected twice

      harryojam
Welcome back Harry.  Anyone who was there saw the reality of communism.
Just as Dear Leader is happy to prop up Ho in 2013, the democrat party and the left did the same during the Vietnam War.
The progressive democrats have always despised the military and have supported the those who are leftists – no matter what you call them.
The left’s support of the NVA & VC contributed to the deaths of more than a million after America left S. Vietnam.  (They completely ignore that)
