By The Right Scoop

This is a really good interview, especially considering that Roland Martin is part of the very liberal MSM. He doesn’t challenge West’s ideas much (probably cause he would have lost that debate big time) but I love to see Allen West going on liberal shows, especially with African American audiences.

My favorite line was when West was quoting a maxim his father gave him:

Never read your own press and never drink your own tub water.

Allen West has no fear. He is what other Republicans should aspire to be.

As an american, who happens to be black. I love Rep. West. There are conservative blacks who are sick and tired of the Nanny State being proposed by the Obama Administration and the Democrats (a/k/a Socialists, Communists). Rep. West is a breathe of fresh air because he stands or principle, not race, but principles and that is why he can speak at CPAC and give a rousing speech. When you speak the TRUTH, it will always shine through.

I’d like to ask you something as a black conservative , do you think Obama has made it harder for the next black man to become president ?
I’ve heard that said so many times and I don’t understand it . I’m white and I hate Obama but it has nothing to do with his race . I’d vote for West if he’d run . I’v been listening to Herman Cain and I like him ,too .
I think maybe it’s because so many voted for Obama because of his race . I got so fed up with talking to blacks who knew nothing about Obamas politics but couldn’t wait to vote for him .
I’m just trying to understand .

I do not think it makes it harder for another man of color, be him/her black, hispanic, asian…I think folks will be more apt to look at the facts and issues a little closer than the simple emotion of the moment. If Presbo had been the man for the job, I would have voted for him in a heartbeat, but I did my homework in advance…in other words, I looked at the tactics, techniques and procedures…and came to my own decision….held my nose..and voted for McCain.

So my friend, I think that the possibility exists, and even greater so in that folks would like to “atone” for their vote in the last election

i dont think so. well maybe another black LIBERAL… but a black conservative would be popular!! i like cain and west.

Thank you both for your reply .
Obama was suppose to be the man who would move us past the race issue instead he’s created more division between the races .
He seems to have the “divide and conquer” mind set . I hope all Americans are seeing that , and in 2012 we vote as Conservative ~ Americans . ( hyphen intended ) :-)
Elections should never be about color .

Try living in Canada where even if you are a Canadian, thanks to the government mandated multicultural albatross we have around our neck, we are all supposed to be hyphenated Canadians. Me- I am a Canadian – period, end or story.

We are all Americans or Canadians or whatever country we call home and leave it at that. Debate politics not by the colour of your skin, your gender or your heritage but according to what your beliefs are.

i’ve never heard of Roland, so i can’t vouch for his political slant. that said, i’m very pleasantly surprised by how this interview went; nice, calm, respectful, he asked a question and let the man answer. i would have liked to see a little back and forth on an issue they disagree on, guess i’ll have to do some research.

    • poljunkie

Roland Martin was totally in the tank for President Obama. No matter what- then candidate Obama would say- Roland M just nodded his head and thought it was just daisy— I think I remember Roland M calling “Sarah Palin the Kim Kardashian of politics” or something like that- and to me- THAT IS NOT A COMPLIMENT.
…on a side note Roland, has a huge “thing” about advertising about how well dressed he is.

    • sunny

Roland is usually out of control when it comes to Republicans or conservatives, not to mention the words Tea Party or Palin. I cant watch him, he is too obviously commited to the left. I think he knew better then to act up with Col West. I like West, he is a leader in many ways.

  • Goldni007

I liked West’ point about $4-$5 per gallon gas. We ALL have to pay for high gas..no matter what color. The black man next to me at the service station was cursing it as he was pumping. And I agreed and fussed along with him.

  • sdee

…been following Col West a while now. Makes Boehner look like soggy toast. He and Bachmann are among the rare ones who have stuck to their principles. I just wish all these idoits stop talking “black this” and “white that” -dammit we need leaders with the guts to cut government. We need them now! I don’t give a damn what friggin color they are!

Holy Smokes, do I want to see a Black Man in the White House, and his name is Allen West. This is the type of man who can truly unite our nation, unlike our current administration which has divided unlike no other. If my fellow vets throw our combined weight behind this man, resistance will be futile, just like any nation who tries to stand against our military…futile. Then we may see a shift towards a nation of accountability and responsibility, and no more of this entitlement nonsense.

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/OUNFNNK4VWVNQZWD743RKW5UYM jonathon b

1st, thanks for your service. vets for West- i’m in. i think it should be an unwritten prerequisite (not a law) for our Presidents to be former military, so they would have a better understanding of what it’s like to face combat or even the possibility of such. of course, i would be hesitant to vote for someone like bush, but with the draft gone those types would be rarer.

  • Quietlistener

We need more warriors like Allen West, of all races, willing to stand up for America, putting America first. He is a great leader and a great example to all Americans. I would be proud to vote for him for President should he ever decide to run.

If I were Sarah Palin, West would definately be my first choice as VP. The MSM would lose a gasket with that ticket!

      • Anonymous

  • http://www.planettron.com NickDeringer

This man exudes leadership. I hope he continues to push for smaller government. Martin on the other hand is obsessed with 3 things: race, gender, class.

    • Anonymous

      And clothes.

  • Anonymous

It is rahter apparent that those in the Republican leadership cannot be competent enough to go on Roland Martin’s show and articulate those conservative ideas that will help and enhance the African-American community and not talk at them about issues that makes a good sound bite. Colonel West did that very well in getting across those conservative ideals and not because he is African-American. What we are seeing readers is true leadership from a great patriot.

    • las

You know FireP… you make a very good point. Most conservatives cannot… I repeat… cannot articulate a conservative position with any half decent coherence. The principles are easy… but they are incapable and end up playing right into the hands of the liberal/left/progressive shills who dominate and formulate the narrative. The media sets the stage and the conservative is required to play his part of self-immolation to the glee of the gloating lib. The media forms the narrative through their false straw man assumptions… and the Conservative is left fighting windmills. When conservatives begin to learn how to deal and deal effectively with the media shills… then maybe they will get some respect.

West gets respect. I really hope West gets more aggressive in tearing down the cherished notions of the Black community as dictated by the likes of J. Jackson, Sharpton and the Black activist machine. This plantation machine has its dirty gnarly hands on the throats of Black Americans… choking the life and self respect out of Black Americans, trashing their slave heritage of overcoming in favor of the Islamo/Afro centrist anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist nonsense which has become the default position of that leftist sitting in the White House.

      • Anonymous

Yes, West gets RESPECT. That is what I like so much about him. He walks in a room and simply commands, demands respect naturally. I can’t think of anyone on the left that could go up against him and he not be in control, in charge, and get respect. It is just who he is. I would imagine those on the left feel intimidated by him. Pelosi or Reid, he would just cream them. Gosh, that would be so much fun to watch.

    • Anonymous

He doesn’t refer to himself as Afro-American, he thinks of himself as American.

  • Anonymous

This little old white boy from Alabama would carry a spare gas can through hell for Col. West.

Real people don’t care about skin color, something that professional racists can’t comprehend. It’s all about the content of the character. Col. West is a true patriot with a strong personal constitution. He’s true to his beliefs and principles.

Which brings up another point: if the Tea Party is so racist, how did we elect this gentleman of color to office?

    • http://doorwaybuck.com CM Sackett

Hah! You gonna have to get in line, fellow Southern ‘white’ AMERICAN. My can is full, dripping, and ready to go.

Lt. Col. Allen West is my congressman. I gave up 2 years of my life to help him in any way I could. The Lt. Col. does NOT want the POTUS job at this time. He wants to learn everything he can and he wants to network. Lt. Col. West pays his dues. He earned everything he got the old fashioned way. He worked for it. He is NOT a spoiled brat like Dumb-Ø who wants something for nothing. West has always served his country and when he knows he is capable for higher office he will let us know. Respect this man and honor his request. He knows what he is doing.

      • Shannon

We had a journalist ask LTC Allen West point blank if he would consider a run for the White House, West said and I quote, “I will do whatever the American people want me to do”… well we want him and he needs to hear it and know it!

Took complete control of the interview to say what he wanted to say early on. Didn’t really even answer the first couple questions, but by force of personality set the agenda to say what he thought needed to be said. Not that they were bad questions, but here is a man who will cut the crap and get to the point. I can only hope that he will able to use his talent and pro-American and UNIFYING message to change the culture of the black caucus. We’re ALL paying nearly $4 for gas. Let’s get it together. West deserves any post he attains. I hope one day he’s president.

All I want for 2012 is Allen West as POTUS. Nobody else will do, but Herman Cain is pretty awesome and if we can’t get Allen West to run, I will vote for Mr. Cain in the primary. My dream ticket for 2012 is West/Cain.

I don’t want to vote for a black man, a yellow man, a white man or a purple man. I want to vote for the best man or woman to be President. The big mistake the people made in 2008 was to vote on emotion, all the while ignoring the facts. Obama had no useful executive experience to be President. All the signs were there that he was an avowed far left redistributionist. He voted present continuously to obscure his beliefs and he won.

We need someone with the experience to lead and someone who believes in the Constitution and the greatness of the American people.
