Wow. I know it’s long, but please read the entire article below.

If this doesn’t prove, to use Rush’s words, how grossly incompetent and disinterested the Obama administration was in providing adequate security in Libya leading up to the Benghazi attacks, especially considering that we would even have a diplomatic presence there at all, then I don’t know what does. This is really bombshell material:

FOX NEWS – Across 166 pages of internal State Department documents — released Friday by a pair of Republican congressmen pressing the Obama administration for more answers on the Benghazi terrorist attack — slain U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and the security officers assigned to protect him repeatedly sounded alarms to their superiors in Washington about the intensifying lawlessness and violence in Eastern Libya, where Stevens ultimately died.

On Sept. 11 — the day Stevens and three other Americans were killed — the ambassador signed a three-page cable, labeled “sensitive,” in which he noted “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” on the part of local residents with Libyan police and security forces. These forces the ambassador characterized as “too weak to keep the country secure.”

In the document, Stevens also cited a meeting he had held two days earlier with local militia commanders. These men boasted to Stevens of exercising “control” over the Libyan Armed Forces, and threatened that if the U.S.-backed candidate for prime minister were to prevail in Libya’s internal political jockeying, “they would not continue to guarantee security in Benghazi.”

Roughly a month earlier, Stevens had signed a two-page cable, also labeled “sensitive,” that he entitled “The Guns of August: Security in Eastern Libya.” Writing on Aug. 8, the ambassador noted that in just a few months’ time, “Benghazi has moved from trepidation to euphoria and back as a series of violent incidents has dominated the political landscape.” He added, “The individual incidents have been organized,” a function of “the security vacuum that a diverse group of independent actors are exploiting for their own purposes.”

“Islamist extremists are able to attack the Red Cross with relative impunity,” Stevens cabled. “What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks.” His final comment on the two-page document was: “Attackers are unlikely to be deterred until authorities are at least as capable.”

By Sept. 4, Stevens’ aides were reporting back to Washington on the “strong Revolutionary and Islamist sentiment” in the city.

Scarcely more than two months had passed since Stevens had notified the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and other agencies about a “recent increase in violent incidents,” including “attacks against western interests.” “Until the GOL (Government of Libya) is able to effectively deal with these key issues,” Stevens wrote on June 25, “the violence is likely to continue and worsen.”

After the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi had been damaged by an improvised explosive device, earlier that month, Stevens had reported to his superiors that an Islamist group had claimed credit for the attack, and in so doing, had “described the attack as targeting the Christians supervising the management of the consulate.”

“Islamic extremism appears to be on the rise in eastern Libya,” the ambassador wrote, adding that “the Al-Qaeda flag has been spotted several times flying over government buildings and training facilities …”

The documents also contain evidence that the State Department’s denials of requests for enhanced security in Benghazi in the months leading up to the attack may have contributed to the ability of the attackers to plan their assault on the consulate and annex grounds without being detected.

“I’ve been placed in a very difficult spot,” said Eric A. Nordstrom, the regional security officer who testified before a House hearing last week, in a Feb. 12 email to a colleague, “when the ambassador (Gene Cretz, at that time) that I need to support Benghazi but can’t direct MSD (a mobile security detachment) there and been advised that DS (Diplomatic Security) isn’t going to provide more than 3 agents over the long term.”

“DS is hesitant to devout (sic) resources and as I indicated previously, this has severely hampered operations in Benghazi,” wrote Karen Keshap, a State Department manager, to main State in Washington the day before. “That often means that DS agents are there guarding a compound with 2 other DOS (Department of State) personnel present. That often also means that outreach and reporting is non-existent.”

Earlier that day, Feb. 11, a colleague of Keshap’s, Shawn P. Crowley, had apologized to her and other officials in an email for “being a broken record” on the subject of inadequate security in Benghazi. Crowley added: “(T)omorrow Benghazi will be down to two (DS) agents. … This will leave us unable to do any outreach to Libyan nationals … and we will be extremely limited in the ability to obtain any useful information for reporting.”

These exchanges followed a dire report to top DS officials a few days earlier from Nordstom. In a Feb. 1 memorandum, the officer warned that “Al-Qaida affiliated groups, including Al-Qaida In the Islamic Magreb (AQIM), and other violent extremist groups are likely to take advantage of the ongoing political turmoil in Libya. The U.S. Government remains concerned that such individuals and groups … may use Libya as a platform from which to conduct attacks in the region.”

By Feb. 20, Nordstrom was noting the easy access that neighborhood militias enjoyed to “military grade weapons, such as RPGs and vehicle mounted, crew-served machine guns or AA weapons (23mm),” as well as “AK-47s, heavy weapons, and vehicle mounted weapons.”

In the days leading up to Sept. 11, warnings came even from people outside the State Department. A Libyan women’s rights activist, Wafa Bugaighis, confided to the Americans in Benghazi in mid-August: “For the first time since the revolution, I am scared.”

The documents were released by two lawmakers who have been active in probing the Benghazi case, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah. In a letter to President Obama, dated Oct. 19 and accompanied by the documents, the lawmakers faulted the administration both for providing inadequate security before Sept. 11, and for allegedly obfuscating the nature of the events on Sept. 11.

“Multiple warnings about security threats were contained in Ambassador Stevens’ own words in multiple cables sent to Washington, D.C., and were manifested by two prior bombings of the Benghazi compound and an assassination attempt on the British ambassador,” the congressmen wrote. “For this administration to assume that terrorists were not involved in the 9/11 anniversary attack would have required a willing suspension of disbelief.”

At the State Department briefing Friday, spokeswoman Victoria Nuland declined to comment on published reports alleging that an official working for the Central Intelligence Agency had informed the Obama administration on Sept. 12 that the Benghazi murders were an act of terrorism.

If that doesn’t prove the disinterest and incompetence of this regime nothing will. I would love to see a side by side timeline of the administrations statements or replies to the consulates cables. Who ever is responsible for replying to the consulates concerns better be seeking some industrial grade legal representation.

    • famouswolf

Well, the big o will undoubtedly unleash the drones on some unwary sheep soon, thus saving us all from whatever is causing the trouble over there because al Queda is already defeated by the heroic efforts of o. Then they will find evidence that the Israelis were actually behind the attack on the embassy plus every other terrorist attack from the beginning of time and then after we blow Israel up we will all be safe, secure and can safely bow to Mecca for all time. Happy, safe and secure in our serfdom, unless we insult one of our masters by breathing wrong. Or something like that.

      Spit.

      • WordsFailMe

Heard Sullied-dad O’Brain is about to claim the the Republicans paid Al Qaeda to do the attack.

        • famouswolf

Yeah, Republicans do that sort of thing all the time, dontchaknow. /sarc

Actually, I’m in a mood. IF I had some of these clowns around, I’d like to (paraphrasing Clint Eastwood) ‘knock some damn heads off’.

I’m just getting sick and tired of this crap. The time for talk is about over with, imo.

So I better give this a rest for a couple days. I feel my face heating and heart rate accelerating with each new revelation.

          Otherwise, words fail me.

  • RocklinConservative

I would imagine that any/all of this would have been in his PDB’s since it was coming from an Ambassador and had been a long term manifestation. It’s so digusting to me that o thought so little of the security of our soldiers … not to mention our country as a whole… to bother himself with taking time off the golf course or the celebrity dinners to protect these people.

    Major FAIL!!!

  • RocklinConservative

I read something the other day that Hillary talked with her lawyers and “fell on the sword” because they determined that she would be exonerated because she had in fact tried to get them security.

First, that would flatly put the blame at o and second, can you really say you “the buck stops here” if you had to consult with your lawyer first to determine if you had culpabilty in any way?

    • Betsey_Ross

Exactly. She is not free of blame on this at all. She kept up the ruse of the film being the catylist for days. She knew whent those bodies came back from Libya that the situation was only going to get worse for both of them. It was written all over her face. There is no lawyer that is going to save her when the stuff hits the fan. it is over for her no matter what anyone says to exhonerate her. She was deleriously happy when Qadaffi bit the dust. When the smoke has cleared we will find out that this was the reason for the attack on our consulate.

It brings tears to my eyes that those four Americans were killed and yet they still served. They begged for more security and were denied. What has happened to us that our own government turns a blind eye to their citizens and employees abroad?

      • http://www.facebook.com/anita.b.brown.77 Anita Bagley Brown

We can never begin to imagine the terror that they felt when they knew that their worst fears were coming true. SO SAD. Heads need to roll over this. And that includes B. Hussein Obama!

    • BlueGood

Seeing O’Bama bin Lyin as a “BUMP ON THE FLOOR OF A JAIL” would be “OPTIMAL” for me.

Words cannot describe the loathing & disdain he generates…..

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/KFIL734Q25Q5YWLE6NMLPMVUBU Y

You generate nothing but disdain for me with your ugly bigoted comments. I would like to see you lying on the floor also for being a lying Romnesia victim.

  • SavingtheRepublicdotcom

This is a coverup… coverup over arms deals to Libya, Syria etc by the US to “rebels” Stevens was the arms dealer.

First rule in assassination is kill the assassin, the same logic applies here to “get rid of” the arms dealer.

Glenn Beck http://savingtherepublic.com/blog/2012/09/glenn-beck-libyan-attack-a-cover-up/ was first to suggest this supported by Glen Doherty’s comments to ABC news months before the attack that “they” were on an intel mission to track weapons. What weapons? Where did they come from? Why such a small team in a hostile environment tracking them with no backup? They were all CIA spooks incl Stevens IMO. Business Insider has a new article RS should include here about Stevens potential ties to Turkey and Syria!!!

    • BikerHoop

Here’s another very interesting take on what the real deal behind Benghazi might have been.

      http://www.westernjournalism.com/benghazi-attack-was-botched-kidnapping-to-trade-blind-sheik/

      • RocklinConservative

        Very interesting indeed!

    • RocklinConservative

OK … can I be the realist here … What are the “real” chances that this line of support in the ME will take a complete reversal if/when Romney is elected. I think that is what still scares me and it is never addressed. Now that the MB has a hold there, will Romney continue down this path? And, I had a huge amount of respect for Petraeus, but he is doing this too. He is the CIA that is running the guns and giving them to AQ. Is this the stuff that is entrenched behind the scenes that is pushing the real agenda in DC or can it in fact be changed with a new administration?

BTW … don’t get me wrong. I am 120% behind Romney, but once you are in the office, reality takes hold.

  • http://twitter.com/FoxiesDoxies Foxies Doxies

What I find frightening is what I believe points to an intentional agenda. Incompetence on this scale has a more innocent tone than I think this act of outright Treason deserves. Recall that in Libya the pro MB movement was pushed aside in the election, giving them a loss. Unlike in Egypt where they obviously won (against all ‘reasonable’ assertions & proclamations that the MB would have a candidate in the election at all). Suppose you actually want the jihadists and extreme radical islamists to be the only ones in power. All these cable rather easily open up your game plan and allow your regime to swoop in and do exactly what the Ambassador was warning about. Then there is also the gun running component and the annex – what exactly was in the annex? And how convenient is it that the last person the Ambassador had a meeting with was the Turkish diplomat. It would be easier to dismiss this grave tragedy as incompetence, thereby avoiding the extremely gruesome evil that occupies the WH and their ultimate project. However, we the people deserve, no – we demand the truth! The whole truth and nothing but the truth!

    http://www.businessinsider.com/us-syria-heavy-weapons-jihadists-2012-10#ixzz29keeGla8

    • WordsFailMe

You are probably correct. I know that if Obama sent an ambassador and some agents to California to oversee the collection of weapons in private, militia hands, what kind of reception he will, er uh, would, receive.

  • WordsFailMe

I figure that the only reason they got these documents is that they all point to Hillary as the most likely dips***.

On the other hand, because those murdered by the Muslim were all white men, we can expect little interest, for the liberals, the administration and the Democratic party. Hillary looked almost jubilant taking the responsibility for whatever.

“We’ll find out what happened and fix it so it never happens again.” she uddered like a barefoot, fur-pitted, hippie chick who’d discovered that the marijuana plants had been accidentally over-watered.

    • Chiefparker

Fix it so it never happens again – The use of this phrase can be applied to a dog or cat.
In regards to theatre shootings, terrorist attacks or the like, for a national leader to express this ludicrous prognosis indicates their low opinion of the public if not their detachment from reality.

      • WordsFailMe

Hi ya, Chief! Glad to see you aboard.

  • p m

“What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks.”

Sent by the Ambassador a month before his death. Says it all as far as the conscious and deplorable disdain for his situation is concerned.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jay-Johnstone/100000539496964 Jay Johnstone

I wonder who has copies of the PDB’s. So at the very least blowing a hole in the wall of the compound would have to be in BOLD text or circled with a crayon in the daily PDB. I am willing to guess it is on a day that Obama didn’t attend his meeting. That is why no action was taken. This is going to be a 1000 times worse than watergate. No way he isn’t impeached over this. No way. No way he gets cover for this.

    • Betsey_Ross

This may be our only salvation when he becomes a lame duck. Hopefully all of this legal activity will keep him from doing more harm to this country. Impeachment takes too long and he isn’t going to have to worry about that. All he has to worry about is the wrath of the American electorate which is about to rain down on him with a vengeance.

      • WordsFailMe

The sob actually does so little other than what he’s told to do, I figure valerie has to remind him when it’s potty time.

      • 4Hoppes2

His list of presidential pardons is growing by the day. Maybe he will have Binders full.

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

The key is how high up the food chain did these cables from the ambassador go? I would be stunned if Hillary didn’t see them. After all, she IS ultimately responsible for the security of all embassies and consulates, especially in dangerous countries like Libya. If these cables were not given to her, then a lot of people need to be fired at the State Department. If these people at the State Department don’t want to end up under the Obama administration’s bus, then they had better cough up some answers very quickly on who saw what and when.

  • MaxineCA

BTW – Bret Baier is going to have an hour special on this tonight on Fox, “Death and Deceit in Banghazi”. It is in Greta’s time slot. With the release of the 160+ documents today, I understand Bret is still updating the show.

How about Obamaladen’s next con…Truce with Iran over Nuke’s…Just in time for the election…Only temporary but he can talk up another fake foreign policy win…Nothing these low life’s do is w/o motive…Watch out for lame duck session…We’ll be Cuba by Jan. 2013

Saw that too – but while the state media will talk it up, who’ll believe it? Is there anyone left who actually votes and will place any belief in the word of the iranians?

This is sickening. Can anyone imagine what our Ambassador and the four other brave Americans must have gone through? And the anguish and suffering of their families must be unbeatable. And obama doesn’t care, at all.

  • http://twitter.com/rogerblack2 roger dunkerley

I think its worst then that due anyone remember the meme that Chris Stevens only wanted light security. so, the actual victim was at fault!!

I have but one word for this entire debacle – treason.

  • Mary_Linda

THIS PRES. IS COVERING FOR AL QUEIDA! He may well be a muslim mole. Just look at his behavior and you cannot come away with a different impression.

Bin Laden was going to be killed with or without the pres., and he knew it, so he just took credit for the kill – the better to hide that he’s in cahoots with the muslim 5th column in America. This way he could LOOK LIKE he’s after the terrorists, when secretively he does everything FOR MUSLIM TERRORISM.

Expunging all governmental protocol from mentioning or implication JIHAD TERRORISM is but one indication. Everything he does supports this cause!!

  • sjmom

How could they take away the security from Benghazi? How could they refuse to honor the request for more? This is beyond incompetence and is negligence of the worst kind.

    • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

The article that I copied and pasted above from FOX NEWS on the internet says Hilary didn’t allow the extra security because she wanted everyone to think all was well in Libya-to show support for Obama-she sacrificed Ambassador Steven’s life and the other three men that died in this terrorist attack!

      • sjmom

I just watched Bret Baier’s report on Benghazi and Greg Palkot did a marvelous job re enacting what happened the night of 9/11. It is difficult to explain the anger I feel about this situation because what happened is reprehensible, Obama and his entire administration need to go and the investigation must continue even after they are gone.

As far as I am concerned Obama’s weak foreign policy is to blame for these deaths. Yes, Hillary sacrificed Stevens but the buck stops at Obama’s desk and he and his entire administration have the blood of the four Americans on their hands.

  • RobertGman

“What we do know is that the natural protests that arose because of the outrage over the video were used as an excuse by extremists to see if they could also directly harm US interests…” Univision interview with Pres. Obama on Sept 20, 2012

What we DO know is that Obama has repeatedly lied about the cause of the attacks.
What we DO know is that the CIA had the correct intelligence the day after.
What we DO know is that Obama’s policies have failed in the Middle East.
What we DO know is that four Americans are dead directly because of Obama’s failures.

  • Conservative_Hippie

The corruption of this administration is mind boggling! I feel bad for Issa and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee who can’t seem to stay ahead of the relentless illegal activities in Obama’s administration! I truly believe, once Romney wins the election, that whistle blowers will come out of the woodwork like roaches at midnight!

    • Suzyqpie

There will be so many books & articles written about the lawlessness of the 0bama administration that the whole publishing industry will be revived. The whistleblowers and gatekeepers revelations will be a tsunami as they race each other to the publishing cash register.

      • Conservative_Hippie

I’d like to be happy for the publishing industry, but lives have been lost because of the ineptitude of this president!

  • TJinNJ

it’s not incompetence nor disinterest…that’s minimizes what they did…this is TREASON.

    • Conservative_Hippie

Is it possible the Obama administration wanted the ambassador dead? I know it’s a stretch, but any honest investigator would have to at least ask that question.

    • Suzyqpie

The other men are Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods. RIP

  • notebene

Just as the truth of what happened in Fast and Furious was buried by this administration, so is the truth of what happened in Benghazi. Shame on the lamestream for continuing to protect the Imposter! His entire administration should be brought up on charges of treason and be sitting in prison for this. Sadly, they will walk and we the taxpayers will continue to pay for their cushy pensions for killing our citizens with their incompetent policies.

  • Susitna

Of course Obama didn’t want to listen to the complaints from Ambassador Stevens because this would have meant to accept his failed intervention in Lybia which evolved into “Obama’s illegal war”. This issue is actually still unresolved in Congress, something for which he should have been impeached.
