Another poll confirms that support for impeachment DROPPING

The other day we told you about a poll in Wisconsin where support for Trump is on the rise and support for impeachment is dropping. Well today there’s a new poll out by Emerson that confirms this nationally:

DC EXAMINER – The Emerson poll released Thursday found support for impeachment has dropped from 48% to 43% since October, while opposition to impeachment has risen from 44% to 45%.

Independents are key in the shift, with 49% opposing impeachment and only 34% supporting impeachment. In October, 48% of independents supported impeachment and 39% opposed.

The poll also showed Trump’s approval rating rising to a net positive. Forty-eight percent approved of the president while 47% disapproved. His approval rating was only 43% a month ago.

A Morning Consult- Politico poll this week also showed independents are beginning to oppose impeachment as the second week of public hearings wraps up. The poll found a 10% drop in support from independents since the beginning of public hearings.

I looked up the Morning Consult – Politico poll from a few days ago, and sure enough they write:

“A key driver for this shift appears to be independents. Today, 47 percent of independents oppose the impeachment inquiry, compared to 37 percent who said the same one week ago.”

So now we have 3 polls out this week that show support for impeachment dropping, with two of those polls attributing it to independents who just aren’t convinced by the Schiff Show charade that we’ve been forced to endure.

It appears we do have a trend, and these 10 point drops among independents are significant. I hope more polling continues to bear this out because I’m betting it will make Democrats think twice about opening articles of impeachment, which they are now saying they may do next month.
