Apparently our quarantined nurse didn’t want people to know she worked for the CDC

So nurse Kaci Hickox, who was released from quarantine this morning in New Jersey, has been hiding the fact that she works for the CDC.

As SooperMexican reported over the weekend, Hickox wrote an open letter to the Dallas Morning News suggesting she worked for Doctors Without Borders as she complained of ‘criminal’ treatment as she was quarantined in New Jersey. Even ABC News, when doing their report on the open letter, referred to her as a “Doctors Without Borders volunteer”. But it turns out, as it’s been widely reported today, that she actually works for the CDC:

As you can see she’s not just a nurse, but an Epidemic Intelligence Services Fellow with the CDC.

And it also turns out that her linkedin page describing her as working for the CDC has been completely expunged today. Here’s a screenshot obtained by Fire Andrea Mitchell:

And according to Got News, Hickox is a left-wing activist. Why that is important in this instance, I’m not sure. But you can read more about that here.

Truth is I’m not sure why Hickox hid the fact that she was working for the CDC and has deleted her Linkedin page. It is rather odd, especially given the fact that we’d probably have never heard of her if it weren’t for her fever and this Ebola quarantine hitting at the same time.
