Awesome: Bella Santorum to leave hospital

This is great news!

(CNN) – Rick Santorum’s daughter Bella is expected to be released from the hospital on Monday, spokesperson Hogan Gidley confirmed to CNN.

The presidential candidate’s daughter was taken to the hospital last week. Santorum postponed his campaign events Monday to be with his three-year-old daughter, who suffers from Trisomy 18, a chromosomal condition.

Santourm and his wife Karen have seven children.

“We appreciate the outpouring of support and prayers,” Gidley told CNN. “The prayers worked, she’s doing much better, so we’re thankful for that. It puts things in perspective.”

Trisomy 18 is caused by extra material from chromosome 18, and is three times more common in girls than boys. Half of patients born with the condition do not survive past the first week of life, according to the National Institutes of Health. Patients who do survive past the first week experience serious medical and developmental problems.

No one will ever be able to convince me that prayers are not helpful. God answers all prayers, it’s just sometimes they aren’t what we want to hear. Thank you, Lord, for answering this prayer in the manner I had hoped for.

Bella is such a strong and beautiful angel. She is an inspiration to us all. My prayers will continue to be with her, even out of the hospital.

      Amen.

Perhaps the prayer of thanks would be better read as “Thank You Lord, for helping me so I wanted what You wanted.”

        An excellent point. I agree.

Too bad they are using the terminology ‘suspend his campaign’, which might leave some with the wrong impression if they don’t read the whole thing carefully. Rick was taking an Easter break which turned into a break from the campaign trail where he was with his daughter, Bella and w/ family at the hospital.

Still decent of them, though. I thought I heard on the radio this morning that Gingrich was dropping out and backing Romney, but I guess that was just talk based on what he said on FNS.

        • TJ

To pull the ads during that time, yes. Also politically shrewd, I think. Would you provide me a link to what Gingrich said- I’d appreciate it!

          • TJ

            Found it.

        • keyesforpres

Makes me wonder if he stayed in to help Romney all along.

    • GOP POTUS Nominee Romney show’s class. Mr. Santorum put out negative ads over the weekend and yesterday.

  • 2besusie

God bless you, little angel. My prayers are for your continuing health.
