H/T Real Clear Politics: My thoughts on this are simple – I could care less who Barbara Bush wants to be President. I’m not disrespecting her, just that it doesn’t bother me if she likes or dislikes Sarah Palin for President. I don’t think she’s an influential person at this point in politics, and this isn’t really all that newsy. So consider this an open thread.

Enjoy!

Barbara is of the old school elite club, so yeah, I guess she does want Sarah to stay in Alaska.

    • Paulchri

Her husband was made CIA director under the post Kennedy globalist elites. Kennedy ordered the withdrawal from Vietnam and was killed. Since then they have been successful in putting their own in power. I believe Barbara Bush is a true consentor, and supporter of her family’s activities. Once a globalist, always a globalist. I am sure that they are all proud of Obama, other than the fact that he is half black. True globalist elitists are know to be racial purists. Some think that they will ultimately destroy Obama. Kind of a sucker, Obama is in that respect. I am concerned that they will use him as a fall guy in a gvnmt sponsored assassination. That would not be good, because they could use that to accelerate their control grid and police state.

I thought George Bush was the director of the American CIA, not the director of the Global CIA?

        • Paulchri

Where does the CIA primarily operate? How do we know who they are serving? Iran Contra gave us a clue about that one. Why are we helping grow opium in Afghanistan? How is all that opium getting back to America? If we help grow it, shouldn’t we know where it goes and how it gets there?

Globalists are shutting down America. They use rouge, secret, gvnmt agencies to achieve some of it. The rest they do in plain sight. A globalist is anyone who is working to bring power to global gvnmt entities such as the UN and IMF. Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama fit the bill. So do many others including republicans. They want you to stick to your right/left thinking.

Barbara’s family has had success through their own skill and hard work.

      So yes, they are elite.

      • Paulchri

Their skill is uncanny. Bush sr. worked hard to become the CIA director after they killed Kennedy. Even though he couldn’t remember where he was that day, and pictures put him at the event in Dallas. He worked hard for Nixon I am sure. He worked his way up to being elected president and was even so good that he was able to give the speech about entering a new world order. After a disappointing loss to Clinton, he was able to redeem himself through his son. His son went on to take away unalienable rights of a free nation. So proud she must be. How many mothers can say “my son grew government and put in a police state to rival any in the world”. Her husband, so distinguished, can say “my son continued in my footsteps and started the wars that I could not”. Although it took 3k American lives, it was worth every one. So proud are we…………the Bush family.

Hey Barbara, Sarah Palin has every right as a US citizen to run for politics and express her political opinion.

Just as your hubby, Mr. thousand points of light and NEW WORLD ORDER did, and as did is father by supporting the nazi’s and being involved with the attempted overthrow of the US government in 1934.

Maybe the former First Lady should stick to baking cookies and keeping her weak-kneed, gun-grabbing husband on his med’s. Remember America, HW was the president who closed all federally-licensed gun dealers in LA immediately after the Rodney King verdict. GW allowed the same anti-Constitutional activity in New Orleans after Katrina; gun-bearing home owners trying to protect thmeselves and their property were DISARMED. The NRA had to go to court for “clarification” in the New Orleans gun-grab. NOW, Miss String-of-Pearls wants to weigh-in on Mamma Grizzly; shut-up and get back to the knitting needles….

      • Anonymous

Sarah Palin should stay in Alaska, rather than Barbara sticking to baking cookies.

Also Coffee4Closers (who made up a lie about Bush grabbing guns and then backed it up with one point that didn’t make your point), immediately following the Rodney King verdict, there was a terrible riot where a bunch of criminal thugs looted and murdered 50 people.

If you are against safety procedures, you should go down to LA and get involved in a race riot, but all of us law abiding taxpayers don’t want thugs and criminals to be anywhere near illegal guns when they are about to start an epic riot.

You will be led to the same gas chambers as the European Jews if not for The Second Amendment, “cool susie Rosgen”. It’s sheeple, like you, that have no idea what an autocratic tyranny looks like. I’d suggest some reading materials like The Federalist Papers, The Constitution, comments from George Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Benjamin Franklin; but with you, it would be a waste of time. Back to your Move-On Seminar, in progress, at The Messiah WH….

          • Anonymous

It’s liberals like you who support the rights of convicted felons to rape, pillage and murder like they did in the 92 race riots. Violence? You want to talk about violence and people violating human rights and property rights? Go down to a riot in compton and get back to me.

Hey Philo, Barbara Bush has every right as a US citizen to speak her mind about politics and on why it would be a bad idea for Sarah Palin to run for president.

We The People will let our voices be heard, whether Sarah likes it or not.

    Her ‘progressive elitism’ is showing.

  • hank

Baaahbrah you old fart…..Alaska is a state now, she’s qualified to run for President.

  • Shari

I just lost a little respect for Barbara Bush with that response.

    • Anonymous

I lost a lot of respect for her. That’s why I like this blog. I am reminded about her elitist response to the Katrina victims as well.

Incidentally, Karl Rove is sounding equally compassionate to me these days, that is, not very.

  • Cheryl~

No question where she stands on her. I am not sure anyone really cares though! We all see the dig at the Palin Family-people can be very small even though they thing they are something special!

SP needs to finish raising her family and do what she does best encourage people to take back their country…I think that is her strongest point at this time!

    • Paulchri

I agree. She destroys any credibility she has by running for office in the future. As it is, she can be considered objective. When the media keeps speculating about her running in 2012, they do her credibility harm. I am not saying that she is trust worthy, as of yet.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=647186311 Thomas Parker

I think it has been pretty clear for quite some time now that the Bush family represents the Country-Club faction of the GOP. I hope the Tea Party folks ultimately wrestle control of the party from these ruling-class types.

    • Cheryl~

Sarah Palin isn’t the Tea Party-Sarah Palin knows how to walk on both sides of the fence, Tea Party and the Country Club GOP as you call it-she backed McCain and Perry and is still asked to speak at Tea Party events-I think she knows how to work her way into both sides but the 64,000 dollar question is will she really adhere to the Constitution…I mean I know what she says, but what she does is sometimes different…it is unfortunate but politics I am sure is a rough rough environment.

      • Paulchri

She is no Ron Paul. If the wars are unconstitutional, then she wouldn’t so far as I can tell.

        • Cheryl~

I don’t understand what you are saying…I think Ron Paul is closer to being what this country needs than Sarah Palin.

          • Paulchri

I was responding the the 64k question. She seems to support the wars. I don’t think she is a good constitutional candidate.

  • Marie

What ever Barbra Bush says about Palin is beside the point. I really hope Palin doesn’t run in 2012, I fear we might just be stuck with Obama for 4 years if she does…just my opinion though… hide and watch…

    • Anonymous

so then….if there were an election, say between Obama and Palin, are you saying YOU would hide in the bushes and watch? or would you help her/us?

You just said bush’s comments don’t matter then you agreed with them! Both you and bush are right.

  • 45 Acp

Barbara Bush speaks volumes about the snobbery of the GOP ruling elite, count Karl Rove into this crowd as well. The GOP elite are the reason we have the mess in this country we have.

The GOP elite will find themselves out of a job should they keep it up. They will all be ‘Casteled and Christed’.

    • Anonymous

The GOP elite (elite means people whose hard work allows them to be successful) like Karl rove helped conservatives win house by demolishing liberals such as thru crossroads gps

  • NCBBQ

Wrong. The Bush family is far more influential than you are aware of, think about it. Hubris brings them all down eventually. Get ready

  • Joe W.

Mmmmmm….Mrs. Bush, sometimes it’s wiser to keep your opinions to yourself. I think this was one of those times.

  • Anonymous

I hope Sarah heeds Barbara’s advice.

If Sarah becomes the nominee, I’m going to start looking into moving to New Zealand, because Obama and the progressives riding his coattails to defeat her will control the U.S. for the next 4 years.

No interview or speech she has given yet has made me believe she’s presidential material, or governing material for that matter.

If she even runs, she will get destroyed in the debates by guys like Mitch Daniels. It will look like a bunch of guys beating up on a woman again, turning off jilted Hillary voters who turned their back on Obama, maybe costing them the women’s vote.

She should keep endorsing candidates, but even then she should get smarter, and not give us another O’Donnell or Angle.

    • Anonymous

This sounds very pessimistic to me.

      • Anonymous

I’m optimistic in that I still hope she won’t put the country through any of that and just endorses someone and campaigns occasionally for them.

There are a lot of good articles recently by Mona Charen and Matt Lebash, people deep in the ‘non-lamestream’ media that lay out why she shouldn’t run in 2012. I hope that will help persuade her (more than a Barbara Bush would) to do what’s best for the country rather than her career and not run for president in 2012.

Beyond that, who knows? I haven’t seen her get any more serious about this since 2008. After quitting the governorship she kind of blew it for 2012, she’s got a lot of rebuilding to do in the area of proving her ability to govern.

There are plenty of GOP governors that are possible nominees who not only didn’t quit, but turned their states around in remarkable ways.

        • Anonymous

Plenty of GOP governors but only one with the charisma of Sarah. It just goes against my grain to ask someone who is wildly popular to not run!

The scribes you cite are no one I have ever heard of. I think there’s a huge lamestream and non- out there who just do not understand the American spirit and thus are withholding their support for the people’s (in my opinion Informed! choice) and blaming it on the third party that is arising and would naturally have found a home in the Repub if these wet blanket folks would get out of the way.

This is going to be an interesting battle. I rather run red hot on real hope and dreams than compromise, and your premise just strikes me then not pessimistic so much as a vast compromise….giving up because we can’t win?! and that we cannot get support from the establishment GOP?! seems to me that’s what it’s all about.

I believe some GOP is coming and has already come over to a new way of thinking. Some have visited Tea Parties and observed the phenom and are disposed to correct their ways of profligate spending. It’s gonna be interesting to say the least.

          Thanks for sharing your thinking.

    • Anonymous

This sounds very pessimistic to me.

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/UHJDAI4CEPUCHCHSJNBHNGUWUU Jimt10000

Sarah Palin helped Tea Party candidates all over the country energize their campaigns. She holds the Republican Party accountable for less spending, less debt, and to reduce the size of government.

Palin’s 71% endorsement success rate thus far—52 wins out of 73 declared races featuring Palin-endorsed candidates is impressive, especially considering that she embraced a number of underdogs in traditionally blue states.

Of particular importance is the fact that eighteen of the twenty candidates backed in Palin’s Take Back the 20 initiative have won their races . That’s a 90% success rate!

When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.

Governor Palin did not endorse Sharron Angle in the Nevada Primary.
It was only after Nevada voters chose Angle that Governor Palin offered her support.

Christine O’Donnell is a true constitutional conservative, one whose views on the proper size and scope of government comport well with Governor Palin’s. Mike Castle, on the other hand, was to the left of many Democrats. If Republicans can’t do better than a candidate who voted for cap and tax, among other things, they have no reason to exist.

      • Cheryl~

Palin also BACKED McCain and Perry and to me that shows she knows how to play the game and the GAMES MUST Stop…otherwise HOW IN THE WORLD do you trust anyone?

        • Diamondback

Sometimes you have to play the “game” to win the fight.

          • Paulchri

I disagree. You can play the media game to some extent, but supporting McCain and Perry is being in the game, and for the game. That is like saying, “I don’t mind my government lying to me all the time, as long as it is for my best interests”. How would you ever know if it was?

          • Paulchri

Obviously you never saw Sarah debate or you wouldn’t repeat such drivel. One thing that is certain is that she will definitely destroy Dumb-0. She owned Biden in the VP debates.

Barbara Bush and her compassionate conservative husband were the darlings of the country club set in 1980. Ronald Reagan kicked the country club’s butts. Everyone referred to Reagan as an amicable dunce. Suggest you read Rendezvous with Destiny. GHWB is a nice man but he is a snob.

The elites are freakin’ out that they have to rely on the party of stupid, the republicans, to stop the avalanche Sarah has started from the top of Mt. McKinley. They are impotent and can’t believe that they have patiently waited for 70 years to institute their stealth socialism. What went wrong, oh the horror, what a nightmare, the sky is falling, etc. Laugh while you read it for yourself.
      http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/21/opinion/21rich.html?_r=1&ref=opinion
Crony capitalism isn’t going to work any longer. Americans played by the rules, paid off their mortgages and the country club republicans screwed them big time. We absolutely refuse to bail out California and that is what Dumb-0 and the republican elites want to do next. We need to stop being enablers. Some Americans are addicted to the nanny state and we have to stop it now.
Also, Barbara Bush’s children and grandchildren weren’t stopped from attending the college of their choice because of Affirmative Distraction, your kids had to go elsewhere not theirs.
When people go to Ivy League schools all their taught is to network. You think George Bush is smart, you think John Kerry is intelligent, how about Dumb-0, the Goracle, Hillary and Bill? Give me a break. Sarah has proven she is a marketing genius. She has got her message out and worked her way around them. She doesn’t need them. The media needs her to drive their ratings.
But the biggest reason that the political class hate her is that she exposed the corruption in her own party and kicked Frank Murkowski’s butt. That’s a mortal sin as far as the political class is concerned.
Wake up and smell the coffee. You are being played. When they look at Sarah Palin they see you. And you suck as far as the political class is concerned. They intend to beat you into submission even if both parties have to unite against we the people.
      Have a nice day!

      • Penny

Well said JD – the demorats and a few RINOS are all scared s**tless of Sarah Palin, which is why they’re all on the attack. Looks like the new line is to try and equate Sarah running in 2012 with 4 more years of ozero. That won’t work with the silent conservative majority that is the USA.

        • Paulchri

The media isn’t scared of her. They are feeding off of her and promoting her as a whole. The media/left panders to leftists, but also legitimizes SP. When “righties” see the media/left attacking her, they get behind her almost without question. This is how people controlling both sides suck you in.

          • Cheryl~

You are so right-every time the left criticizes her the right jumps in-no questions asked and moves on the chessboard to where the left wants them to go…

            • Paulchri

If the left didn’t want her on the scene, they would just ignore her and she would just be a fox news figure. Then they could lump her in with fox news criticism. They actually make her relevant. I believe the media is controlled by huge media conglomerates owned by globalists. Actually, it is fact. The globalists decide what is done in main stream. We don’t have free individual investigative reporting any more. Editors are globalist slaves.

The founders knew that the democratic portion of our system was the weakest link. That is why we have the bill of rights. That is why the supposed free press was so important. We have lost both, and it doesn’t get any better from here.

She should stay in Maine and knit. She and Laura were both pro abortion advocates so how serious should one take these two women making comments on any moral issues or persons with their stands on killing unborn children. Both Bush presidents were barely pro life. Father must less than son.

    • Paulchri

They were only pro life to pander to the right side of the false right/left paradigm. They did little if not nothing to stop the murder of babies. Globalists created planned parenthood for a reason. Eugenicists want people dead. Globalists are eugenicists. The Bush’s are globalists.

  • Quizzerdrew

I respect Barbara Bush and her opinion. I understand that many people believe that Palin is not qualified to be president. However, they have no basis for that opinion especially considering the gross inexperience of our current president. That being said, I would rather see someone like Marco Rubio or Allen West run for president because I think they would make Obama and the media cry! I can see Allen West shrug off any ad hominem attacks and destroy the libtards on the issues alone. I love Palin as a person but I love Allen West even more as president!!!

    • Paulchri

She is not seriously intelligent. She has a very casual demeanor most of the time. Her verbalizations are not those of a well thought out seriousness. Conservatives who like her, but don’t subscribe to her qualification as president are mainly concerned that she is not truly convicted about her verbalizations, and that she may not understand how her supposed convictions are supposed to play out so far as our constitutional rights are concerned.

      • stillgoing

I am not a Sarah Palin groupie, but have you watched the debates, when she was running for Gov of Alaska? She is intelligent and remember she was a unknown candidate running against a giant incumbent whose influence was ridiculously powerful.

        • Paulchri

I hold all candidates to an increasingly high standard. I think we all should. I can’t say that I have seen her perform in those arenas. What I saw in 08 didn’t amount to much more than talking heads, and talking points. I don’t make excuses for any candidate, so being thrown into a national election quickly wasn’t a valid excuse. By the time she entered, people were generally dug in to their emotional commitment to a cause in whatever candidate they supported. Most Americans get caught up in this in one way or another. In retrospect, I believe that McCain brought her in because he wasn’t supposed to win. He did not run as aggressive of a campaign as he runs in Arizona. Why? McCain is a globalist. Obama was chosen, and financed by those who chose him. Globalists run the show. McCain could have destroyed Obama, but chose not to. Why? McCain couldn’t have passed the health care bill politically with a majority of Dems. If he did, it would expose the false left/right illusion. The health care bill took three years to write 2700 complex pages of well thought out and phased in legislation. Obama wasn’t even a senator then, I don’t believe. If Palin was brought in by a globalist, is it a mistake that globalist media has made her what she is today. She was brought into the national scene, then made relevant by liberal and conservative media and politicians. Why? There is a reason for everything. These are not natural progressions. I don’t know what their plans for her are, but I do believe that she would continue the wars. That is the globalists bread and butter tool, commander of the military industrial complex.

Do you remember when Clinton’s second term was up that he tried to stay in office. He was talking national emergency and martial law to stay. That is because martial law suspends elections and leaves it up to the president to decide when it is over. The executive orders for martial law are still on the books. Each president has to continue them. We are very close to a financial collapse and a currency crisis that we won’t be able to bail out. The question is, will this happen before Obama leaves office. Everything they do, seems to be geared to shut down the economy and destroy the currency as fast as they can. Correct. Why are they in such a hurry? Is it possible that they are about ready?

          You decide.

    • Cheryl~

Just because Obama isn’t qualified doesn’t mean it is OK to get someone else in there that is not qualified-besides for me it isn’t just that-I think she is popular for many reasons and I think she is a good encourager-cheerleader but that doesn’t mean she would make a good captain of the team-to be honest with you she doesn’t seem to stick with anything…without going over her political issues just being a young mom with young kids and having a daughter who had a child out of wedlock would make me want to stay around closer to home to watch over the other young girls coming up in age…while I think most women are good at multitasking (better than men) doesn’t mean that it is ok for her SP to not be around alot of the time because she has to save the country(you can’t do it all-and many times the kids are the ones that lose)-her first obligation is to her husband and children-her family-you know she says it herself-family first!

      • Paulchri

I think that we usually get people who, largely, are not qualified. That is who the corporate globalist system wants. They just have to determine what their party supporters want, then tell them what they want to hear, with the financial backing of the Fed Res system entities, and wallah, you have and American president. If the health care bill took three years to write, why do we make it Obama’s? He is just there to do what he is told. Same with Bush.

That’s all we need is another ugly Republican “elite” female — who don’t know what they are talking about — to join the likes of Meghan McCain and her mom who are campaigning for getting rid of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. OUT WITH THEM I SAY! And George doesn’t know what to think about the tea party? I’m embarrassed to see these people call themselves Republicans and Texans. She and George are so out of touch, they still probably don’t know how much a quart of milk costs!

I’m amazed at how obsessed the liberal lamestream media is about the question, “Will Sarah run?” From The View to Larry King to Meet the Press, etc., that’s all they can talk about and ask their guests. They fear her so much, it’s hilarious. They are so dumb they can’t see that Sarah is a decoy, the Republican who will take all the hits from the lamestream media so the path to the Presidency for other Republicans will be much easier. Moderates who have brainwashed by the liberal lamestream media to hate Sarah will be relieved that Sarah won’t run, then will look at the leading Republican candidate as not being “all that bad” in comparison to “evil Sarah” and worthy of getting their vote. I’ll take that trade anytime. Thank you Sarah for your bravery to be the sacrificial lamb to get a Republican elected to oust Obama. We know you have them all fooled. Your brave, and your brilliant!

We sure have learned a lot in two short years.

Keep voting them out until they are all gone, then keep them out.

If you don’t think Barbara Bush is influential maybe wait and see what happens to Sarah if she retaliates. It might be even more telling if Palin doesn’t retaliate considering her history.

  • Timbankful

I just lost a lot of respect for Mrs. Bush.

Lovely Barbara : Sarah Palin will stay in Washington (The White House) for 8 years beginning in 2012…. Then she could stay in Alaska….
