Bloomberg news pitching weird ‘false flag’ conspiracy theories to Hillary Clinton

For some weird reason I can’t decipher, a Bloomberg reporter tried to get Hillary Clinton to bite on a conspiracy theory saying that Vladimir Putin planned the New York City and New Jersey bomb attacks in order to help Trump.

Here’s the question she was asked:

“Are you concerned that this weekend’s attacks or potential incidents in the coming weeks might be an attempt by ISIS or ISIS sympathizers, or really any other group, maybe the Russians, to influence the presidential race in some way and presumably try to drive votes to Donald Trump, who is, as you’ve said before, widely seen as perhaps being somebody who they would be more willing to — or see as an easier person to be against?” Bloomberg’s Jennifer Epstein asked.

OK. So this is idiotic. Even if Hillary thought that, she’d sound like a crackpot if she admitted it, and come off just as paranoid and weird as Trump is when he pitches his conspiracy theories. But beyond that, there’s absolutely not one scintilla of evidence that either of these were the motivation for the attacks. Epstein can’t believe that ISIS just wants to kill us without a Trumpspiracy attached?

Here’s how she responded:

“Here’s what we know,” Clinton said after declining to speculate about any Russian connection. “I think it is important for voters to know and hear this and weigh it in making their choice in November; we know that a lot of the rhetoric we’ve heard from Donald Trump has been seized on by terrorists, in particular ISIS.”

Authorities have not broached any possibility of a connection to the Russian government following bombings in New York and New Jersey that injured 29 people.

This election just gets stupider and stupider.

This is not to say that it isn’t a possibility. There’s actually a lot of people who credibly believe Putin completed a “false flag” attack in Russia in order to impose his will on the scared populace. But it’s absurd to push this idea about the attacks in New Jersey and New York City without any evidence whatsoever, especially when there’s such a plain and obvious motivation of Islamism.
