Retired athlete Bo Jackson wrote a plea for the internet to help him find an American hero who made a big impression on him a year and a half ago:

Looking for an American Hero…
I need all of your help. A year and a half ago I was on a flight to Portland, Oregon where I met a young man who proudly served our country. During his service this man lost both of his legs at the knee. While on the flight the staff needed help moving him, so I gladly volunteered. After I helped this gentleman, he and his wife generously insisted on giving me the beads that he made while rehabbing his injuries (pictured here). The beads read, “Never Forget Dignity Respect Honor.”
I have proudly kept these beads on my backpack since that day, and I am asking for everyone’s help in locating this couple. Every time I pick up my backpack I think about them and I want to hear how they are doing. The facts I know about them are: the couple was in their mid 20’s, the previous description of the soldier’s injuries and the couple live in the Washington State area. Now I know this is a long shot, but I am asking that you all repost/retweet this in hopes that I can find this couple. If you think you may know who they are, please leave a comment.
