BOOM! Waffle House patron defends restaurant, shoots armed robber

Now this is how it’s supposed to work. This Waffle House patron is a hero:

FOX ATLANTA – A customer at a Waffle House turned the tables on an armed robber trying to hold up the restaurant on Jonesboro Road in Union City.

According to the Union City Police Department, police officers were called to the Waffle House in the 4300 block of Jonesboro Road just before 2 a.m. Monday. They were responding to a report of a robbery and person shot.

Officers were told that a black male walked into the Waffle House with a gun in hand and demanded money. At some point, a customer took action by shooting the robbery suspect.

The suspect was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated. There were no details regarding the nature or severity of the suspect’s injury, or the suspect’s identity.

Police have not released any information about the suspect who shot the suspect.

No other patrons were hurt during the attempted robbery.
