UPDATED: Chris Christie airplane had to TURN AROUND over man taking photos of crew, emailing them in arabic!

If this information is correct, it looks like Chris Christie saw a man taking photos of the crew and emailing them in Arabic to someone and turned them in or something. It’s not all exactly clear from the tweets:

Here’s more from MyFoxBoston:

A United Flight bound for Boston was delayed nearly four hours after a passenger reportedly threatened New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was on the plane.

United Airlines Flight 1108 was supposed to take off from San Francisco at 8:32 a.m. and everyone was on the plane, preparing for takeoff. The plane was on the runway when the pilot announced they were returning to the gate for “operational difficulties.”

A FOX25 employee’s family member was aboard the plane and told FOX25 that the plane returned to the gate and they kept everyone on the plane for about 45 minutes. Then passengers were taken off five at a time to be checked.

The family member said someone said something to Christie, which led to the deplaning. Every person was individually searched and some were cotton swabbed.

That’s a bit vague but we know something happened. I’ll update with more concrete info when we have it.

UPDATE: Christie’s office releases statement:

Governor Christie, an aide and a member of his security detail were traveling on a United flight from San Francisco to Boston this morning when a passenger was removed from the plane before takeoff at the request of United Airlines. At no point did Governor Christie interact with this passenger nor did this passenger pose a verbal or physical threat to the Governor. Any other inquiries about this matter should be directed to United Airlines.

UPDATE 2: The original passenger who reported this says the issue is over:
