GUARDIAN – A truck has crashed into a department store in central Stockholm, killing three people and injuring others, according to local reports.
Public radio station Ekot said three people had been killed after the haulage vehicle was driven into crowds at a shopping mall in the Swedish capital.
Witnesses told Reuters the area of the city centre had been cordoned off by police.
Swedish broadcaster SVT said shots had been fired, and video footage showed hundreds of people running from the scene.
Local police confirmed they had received calls about people being injured by a vehicle on Drottninggatan, a popular shopping street in the city.
Towe Hagg, a police spokeswoman, said a vehicle had injured people on the street, which is close to the city’s main train station, but did not confirm any reported deaths.

Here’s the report from the UK Daily Star:
A vehicle crashed into people in Drottninggatan in central Stockholm and three have been killed so far.
Police said it drove into department store Ahlens Mall and there are reports of numerous injuries.
They add it is a “suspected terror attack” and it is reported that police were telling people to flee a “terror attack”.
Shocking images show a truck, on fire, lodged in the side of the store.
Horrific footage shows people running away from the attack.
There were reports of shots being fired.
“A vehicle has injured people on Drottningatan,” police spokeswoman Towe Hagg.
A witness, called Anna, said: “I saw hundreds of people ran, they ran for their lives.
“I turned and ran as well.”
Jan Granroth was in a shoe shop in Queen Street when she heard screams.
She said: “We stood inside a shoe store, and we heard no noise, and so people start screaming. So I look out at the store, so I see a huge truck slam into the wall opposite.”
Another witness describes the panic when the truck came out of nowhere.
They said: “I went to the main street when a big truck came out of nowhere. I could not see if anyone was driving it but it got out of control. I saw at least two being run over. I ran as fast as I could from there.”
