We’ve been told over and over again that the only person who can bring unity to the GOP and bring peace to the force is one young establishment favorite who reeeeaaallly doesn’t want to run for Speaker. And now, Paul Ryan has revealed what it would take for him to run.
BREAKING: Rep. Paul Ryan to seek speakership if he is 'unity candidate' of House GOP.

Many believe that becoming Speaker of the House would actually be a demotion for Ryan, but he would do it if he really believed that it would be for the betterment of the country and the party.
He’s smart to make this condition, because that’s the only way he can have some semblance of assurance that he won’t be met with the same disunity that Speaker Boehner met with. But if he just pushes the same weak-willed spineless socialism light that the leadership pushed before, then he can expect the same rancor.
UPDATE:
Jason Chaffetz is backing Ryan after wanting to run himself:
I am out and supporting @RepPaulRyan for Speaker. Right person at the right time.
