Mark Levin just read a statement from Sarah Palin that details her decision not to run for president. He is now interviewing her and I will have audio of the statement and the interview with Sarah Palin as soon as it is complete.

***

Here is the full statement read by Mark Levin and the full interview:

Here is the full written statement:

Wasilla, Alaska

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

- Sarah Palin

I hope she’ll be endorsing Herman Cain at some point

    • Anonymous

“Update: Perry issues a brief statement: “Sarah Palin is a good friend, a great American and a true patriot. I respect her decision and know she will continue to be a strong voice for conservative values and needed change in Washington.”

      from hotair: http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/05/breaking-palin-not-running-for-president/

It appears Perry might be thinking of her as a VP mate – no?

      • zytekfan

If Perry asked, I think she would respectfully decline.

        • Anonymous

I would hope so. I don’t even care about “respectfully”.

        • Mr. EMT

          You have it backwards.
I do not think he would even accept her endorsement at this time.
I know I would not until after she made a public apology for accusing Perry of being a crony capitalist.
But Sarah has too much pride for that and she would rather let her comments stay out there to damage the conservative movement.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6ITOVBTCRPCL43EG3WWEOBX4AE GregM

Palin owes no apologies to anyone.

            • Mr. EMT

Accusing someone of cronyism when they took about the same amount in donations from the same company she did earns Perry an apology.
Merck donated to all republican governors 06 campaigns, including Palin who then approved gardasil for her local state federally tax funded entitlement vaccine program.

              • Garym

Bullcrap! Malkin had a list of the donations to all the states and candidates and Palin wasn’t on the list. So provide a link or STFU.

                • Mr. EMT

Oh, so she did not take any money from the Republican Governor’s Association?
Funny that. I’ll believe it when it is proven however.
In either event, basically for no reason what so ever she approved gardasil for her state’s entitlement program funded for by federal money.
Yeah, being taxed in Texas for local entitlements is SOOO much better than what Perry is accused of.
Which is taking 5,000 in donations from Merck for something he was going to do anyway since he was befriended by a lady who was terminally ill with cervical cancer and he got to see first hand how much one shot can prevent.

                • Garym

                  Un Freaking Hinged.

In other words, Perry’s saying “Support me, me, me,…”

        Take a hike, Perry.

      • Mr. EMT

        No.
Palin’s statements and accusations that Perry is a crony capitalist have shown she would not be the best choice for him to pick.
A true conservative ally and not a fairweather conservative ally would be best for him.
West? A good possibility, someone else tossed up the idea of the New Mexico Governor. Whomever it is I believe is going to have to be a minority. A white male is going to make them look like the “good ol boys club coming to take out the black man”

        • Garym

He ain’t getting elected anyways, so save your pixels.

          • Mr. EMT

            Ah, you prefer the alternatives?
If so then why are you bothering to engage and attack people to the right when your boy obamao needs your support?

            • Garym

Uhh gee, aren’t you attacking people on the right all over this thread in your support of Perry? You call us Palin supporters cultists, but your blind allegiance to Perry has got you unhinged. You are lashing out at other conservatives who support someone else. FU

              • Mr. EMT

Im attacking no one on my right.
The cultists and cannible sheep at the moment I do not aknowlege being on the right of anything, much less me.
Your weakest link is thinking i am a blind Perry supporter.
I know all of his faults and I have never called him the perfect candidate etc.
I support whomever is most conservative. In this race, that is him.

    • Anonymous

There is smthg a lot of us are not considering. It sounds far fetched, but it is a possiblility in the world of politics.Take a look at these scenario
      1. Palin as a VP
      2. Palin to run for president from the VP position in 2020
      3. Palin to run for POTUS in 2016, if whoever is nominated noow fails terribly, or lose to Mr. O

      4. That would affect the match up completely. A CAin/PAlin ticket is a conservatives wet dream

      5. The most likely are Romney/Palin or NEwt/Palin

      6. PErry/Palin is a no no.

However, It is time for people like Ann Coulter and Ingraham to see how a Semi-conservative like Romney can lead this nation. They dont seem to have understood the real cry of the conservative movement.

  • http://twitter.com/conservative__ conservative

    What a surprise!

  • Anonymous

No PALIN???!! D A M N. No real surprise after the last few weeks as the probability was setting in with me. ANY Candidate that is approximating Tea Party or is Tea Party will benefit from her endorsement. My MAN right now is Cain, the other “roque”.

    • Anonymous

      Nice one.

  • http://twitter.com/JVelez80 Mr. Velez

Sucks. Oh well, Herman Cain it is.

      Herman is the man!

At this point, I’m up for sale to the highest bidder – lol!

      • B-Funk

        All aboard the Cain Train!

    • Anonymous

      Now there’s an impassioned supporter!

Where are we as citizens, that we have to say, “oh well”? This premise: ‘I guess I’ll settle for someone with whom I would not have voted, had my pick been in the race.’…then for the love of God and this country, withdraw your sanction! Don’t perpetuate this ‘lesser of two evils’ nonsense! This is exactly how we got the wonderfully breathtaking 2008 election of Obama v. McCain! That is no election!

I’m not saying who to vote for or who not to vote for; if you believe in Cain, by all means. But please don’t fall into a camp as an “Oh well.” Our country does not need those kind of votes. Indeed, it was precisely these kind of votes which resulted in our misguided 44th president.

      • Anonymous

I hear you, but I don’t agree. If the person you’re excited about isn’t running and you find the whole field a bit depressing, then what would you have voters do?

Drum up excitement for their second or third choice? Stay home?

There gets to be this depressing situation where you’re forced to vote against someone. It sucks. But you know what sucks worse than that? Another 4 years of Barack Obama.

        • Anonymous

Look, I too thought the same as you[steprock] in 2008, full disclosure I voted for McCain whom I agreed with maybe 3% of his policies… yes, it was truly a vote against Obama. But since then I have really looked long and hard at what freedom really is.

Humor me by reading this hypothetical:

If for some reason I offered you to choose between one of two Men/Women to marry: Man/Woman A or Man/Woman B. I would hope you’d pick C; that you’d like to make your own choice whom to marry thank you very much. A choice between two Men/Women is not freedom; and I personally refuse to partake in something that people call free when its “Choose between being shot in the leg, or shot in the arm”…

          I’d rather not be shot.

Until our system has a ‘None of the Above’, our voting system has but the guise of freedom. Its only a pipe-dream because the people–my 2008-self, included–make it so.

Withdraw your sanction! Don’t vote for someone you don’t believe in! THAT IS NOT FREEDOM.

  • Anonymous

Well, that’s too bad. But, I hope she doesn’t keep giving political commentary, like Rove and the rest of the yappers. She is a true conservative, but talk is cheap.

    • Anonymous

You make a good point. I will still respect her opinions, but it will be hard to keep looking at her and wonder what could have been.

      • Anonymous

She sound shook up at the beginning of Mark’s interview. I just don’t see how she is such a strong advocate of conservatism. She gave up when the country needs her most. That is no Reagan, Mark levin!!!

  • http://www.solitudeholdings.com/blog1/ Dan C

The GOP got what they wanted. They destroyed her by their attacks along with the left, and now many of you will run to their nominee who was complicit in it. We deserve the hard times we are headed for.

    • Anonymous

Well, if that is all it takes to make her head for the hills, I’m glad she’s not running. The next president is going to have to clean up the mess the current administration made, and we don’t need someone that can’t take a couple to the chin, and keep a smile on their face.

      • http://profiles.google.com/ajtelles Art Telles

What do you mean “… can’t take a couple to the chin”…

Are you referring to the same woman who took on the Alaska CBC (corrupt bastards club) and a corrupt Republican in Gov. Murkowski and beat him and the good ol’ boys and won the governorship?

That same woman could also “… clean up the mess” in Washington.

So, now we let the process play out.

Who knows what corrupt practices will be revealed about the Obama machine regarding Romney or Cain which may result in a “draft Palin” effort… that would be part of the process.

Hey, she had enough. That’s all I’m saying. She retired early, and knew she couldn’t go another round. She tapped out!

      • Anonymous

That has to be the dumbest thing I’ve read today, if not the dumbest thing I’ve ever read on any board anywhere. If what Sarah and her family have been put thru by the establishment media accounts for “a couple on the chin,” then you’re the biggest douchebag I’ve ever had the chance to meet on any board.

Don’t cry; dry your eyes. If you can’t stand the heat, stay out da kitchen. You sound like a Palin nazi? She couldn’t hang in the big league. I don’t begrudge her for that. You should realize that she isn’t running. Don’t let your world come to an end over that fact. Quit with the fanaticism and throw in your zealousness for a candidate that is actually running. You can probably get her autograph if you try hard enough.

Makes me damn glad I never registered or sent money to the Republican party.

My vote in Nov. 2012 goes to a man or woman who is an originalist on the constitution. I’ll be happy voting for the LP candidate, if Romney is the Republican one. I was never in this for the benefit of some stupid party, that’s for damned sure.

  • Mark Smith

She and Perry were tight governors. He’d put her in his White House.

    • Mr. EMT

After her attack on him when she blindly took bachmann’s bait, Im not sure that she can redeem herself enough to get any consideration for Perry for anything.
She showed her ass pretty bad.

  • http://profiles.google.com/ajtelles Art Telles

    Well now…

The Republican field is now offically closed.

The race is on between Herman Cain and Mitt Romney.

May the better executive win… but I’m pullin’ for Cain.

    Cain vs. Obama – yeah!

PS. For the marxist / progressive racists out there, I’m a white guy pullin’ for the black guy… so shut up with your shallow thinker racist rhetoric talking points from your puppet masters and get in touch with reality and speak the truth, you’ll sleep better

Cain is destined to implode his campaign.
The question is really whether or not Perry can capitalize at the right time and keep the surge he will get by doing so enough to carry him through for the next year.
If he does it will make a lot of people question if he was sandbagging in the last debate.

        Destiny…

What’s the source for the “… destined to implode his campaign” comment?

For a novice politician, Herman Cain is holding his own against the experienced 2 front runner politicians, the executive Romney and the perpetual politician Perry.

I’m pullin’ for Cain, the fresh executive with 9-9-9- ideas over Romney and Perry.

        Cain vs. Obama – yeah!
        Experience vs. rhetoric – yeah!
        Substance vs. symbolism – yeah!

        • Mr. EMT

Cain has no experience, other than losing two national elections, one for senator one for president.
Cain has had to make multiple retractions during this campaign, two of them this week alone (though he has yet to make a retraction or state he was wrong for his racist comments about Perry)
He has no voting history to measure his future against so all you are left with is making yourself look silly supporting the guy that tells you what you want to hear.

By the way, 999 is 20% taxes for everyone out of the gate.
Perry is against sales taxes and has vetoed every attempt at making them in Texas.
And he wont hold his own when the “gotchya” questions get turned on him and he has to make answers other than “states rights”
Especially if they ask him about his comments on TARP and his lifetime achievement award for affirmative action.

          • http://profiles.google.com/ajtelles Art Telles

            Thanks….

            Some good points…

Yes, Cain should have had more info before slapping Perry about the rock with “Niggerhead” written on it by somebody else and which Perry’s family had obliterated many, many years ago.

However, from the spectator stands, everything considered, Cain’s amateur status playing against the political pros looks very, very good.

      • Anonymous

Yeah … being Ambassador to China really worked out well for Huntsman. For real “international experience” it’s now been proven she only has to be a community organizer in south Chicago. Her endorsement will be important so don’t think the media dweebs will let up.

Ok People! LISTEN UP!!!!!!!!!! I have been saying for months and months that Palin never even considered running for president. She kept people guessing for one simple word…………MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! You watch and see, now that she is not running, she will disappear. She charges HUGE premiums for speaking engagements, and people paid them only because they thought she was gong to run. MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on her. She is what is wrong with America. Does anyone HONESTLY believe that she has been toying with the idea for this long. she has known for quite sometime that she would not run. She lied over and over and over to keep herself in the spotlight for the money.

I find it hard to believe that she says:
    #1. Obama is destroying America
    #2. She can beat Obama

But now she doesnt run??!! PUH-LEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Potential candidates hold out for reasons other than money Drew. She could now hold out her endorsement in exchange for a political agenda she would like added to her chosen candidate’s platform, a position in the White House or anything else she feels strongly about.

She demonstrated her abilities as a power broker in the 2010 elections. Expect her to continue in that role.

      • Anonymous

She was a power broker in 2010 because people expected her to lead a charge for the nomination in 2012.

Honestly, I am as die hard a Palin fan as anyone, but now I think now she’s done. After the election is over and Romney/Perry/Cain/ is in, what is she going to do for 8 years? Write another book? Do another Alaska travelogue? Perhaps the plan all along was to run for Arizona Senate. Who knows.

I suspect she knew about a presidential run months ago (like when Bristol let it slip), and wish she had shown the integrity to let people know when she knew.

      • Anonymous

No doubt cain, romney, and bachmann are going to try to get her endorsement.

Voter Id, Castle Law, Tort Reform, state with highest jobs and lowest tax burden. Strongest voice on gun rights and strongest successes for pro life, and his judicial appointments are all strongly principled conservatives.
Doesnt bother me that he follows Reagan when it comes to immigration policies, actually he is more conservative when it comes to immigration than Reagan, but different times different circumstances. He vetoed drivers license for illegals and vetoed recognition of a mexican government ID. And his judicial appointments are all strongly principled conservatives.

Endorsements from Bobby Jindal, Dr. Mellisa Coulthier, and Rep Wayne Christian to a growing list.

    • Mr. EMT

Yes endorse the lifetime achievement award for affirmative action guy who cant give a straight answer that is not “states rights” who says TARP is a good thing we can earn money from and said states and local laws supersede the second amendment.
She will sure show everyone her ass by doing so as Cain shows everyone his ass and take her down in a train wreck that she missed by the skin of her teeth with bachmann.

  • Anonymous

palin fans must be dejected…but this is a great opportunity to transfer that energy to the candidate she endorses.

    • Mr. EMT

There is no one for her to endorse.
She ate bachmann taint bait and stabbed Rick in the back with it
Everyone else is so far left that she will make a huge mistake no matter where she turns.

I do have to question whether she would have all these supporters if she wasn’t hot. She provided the conservative movement with a little ammo, rallied the troops, and left us on the battlefield holding our schmeckels. Mark called her a general in the conservative party! I guess we just throw that term around nowadays.

But I am not as cycnical about her motives, I believe she really thought long and hard….and given what her kids and her family have already been through, maybe, just maybe, they did not want her to run. We are only human, and Sarah is no exception.

          • Anonymous

You are a nice guy. The video that she put out was not made yesterday! Everyone is all talking about her family. We have taken heat defending her as well. I have persuded many people, family, and friends to support this tease. Me and my uncle did not talk for a month because he did not like the fact that I was a big fan of the tease. Sept 30 pass. With all the hints and the leading on I was convience she was running. SHE KNEW FOR WEEKS SHE WAS NOT RUNNING AND STILL LEAD US ON! It is all about her! Wake up! Snap out if it! She is not going to endorse Cain but more likely Romney. Who will be the highest bidder and the one that will kiss her a** the most!!!

    • Anonymous

Sure, but who will be paying attention? She just opened herself up for more criticism than she would have had to endure if she’d run. Her only political life after this would be to get the VP slot. I don’t see that happening now.

I’d say her moment is over, and unless we get a conservative nominated, so is the American Moment.

I was definitely a hold out for Palin, even though I am firmly in the Anybody But Obama camp, but, I hope secretly that she has made a deal to be our next Secretary of Energy director. I hope so, the jobs will flow. God bless you and your family Sarah.

    • Anonymous

      Well said!

Boy, I keep going back and forth. I see the wisdom of “anybody but Obama” however, I also see that as perpetuating the current system where the GOP decides what’s best for us and then we have to hold our noses and vote against somebody.

Half of me (like 60%) screams “No way! Let Obama screw the whole country over till everyone gets their fill of it. Then, maybe the Libs will realize what a losing idea he has and the GOP will stop sending over the RINOs.”

Sarah is truly a reformer with a servant’s heart and would have been the worst nightmare for establishment elites on both sides of the aisle.

I would have liked to have heard a firmer “no” to her answer about running as third party. I don’t like the way she answered that. If I take her at her word, that it really has taken her this long to make up her mind and she really has had so much trouble making a decision, she did leave it open. I guess. Who knows?

I feel bad for all those poor souls who gave her PAC money hoping it would convince her to run. I feel bad for her, too. She has validated every contemptuous thing her detractors have ever said about her. And I feel bad for me for falling for it for so long.

Let’s hope she makes a firmer statement about a 3rd party run and we don’t have to go thru this drama again.

    • Anonymous

Well Jaynie you were the one who said she wasn’t going to run based on the clothes she wore on Sept 3 in Iowa. So you shouldn’t be surprised at all……

Its as firm as you can get.
Now the cannibal sheep followers who worship her like a cult will start praying she will retract and make a liar of herself or “shackle” herself to someone elses campaign and try to run as VP when she made it clear she believes she does greater good as the “voice on the outside.”

Cuz contrary to what they think, Sarah is not the most conservative person there is. She just ranks as one who is more conservative than most.

My bet is Palin will not endorse anyone and leave the way open for a convention draft (while she acquires Random House) maybe even a VP run again.

    • Anonymous

I agree. Palin has always been anti-establishment. The only way she could run would have to be as an Independent. Evidently, she has made the math and figured out that that would split the vote and help re-elect Obama.

However, there is much more to this announcement that we cannot figure out.
      Time will tell!

Anyway guys, cheer up! The mayan calendar ends on 12-21-12. So Sarah Palin not running is not the end of the world! :)

      • Anonymous

Ha Ha, Conservative Hippie, you are on a roll in this thread! I could be and actually hope I am “wrong,” as you say, but rarely am. No candidate in recent history has taken the amount of vitriolic shellacking as Sarah Palin. Even her uterus was fair game. Would a guy get that kind of abuse?

        • Anonymous

No. And John Edwards is proof of that. “The Breck Girl” had been slutting around for months and the rumor was out there. The only “investigative reporting” ABC did was to call the Edwards campaign and ask if the rumor was true. The campaign denied it. End of story. Apparently none of the other networks even went to that much trouble.

While I am disappointed by the news that Sarah is not going to run, I still admire and respect her and feel she will play a huge role in many, many races all across the country in 2012.

          • Anonymous

I realize that, however the statement was that a woman could not be elected by the US yet. I think Clinton would win. The dems would rally to her and so would a lot of independents that liked her husband. Sarah Palin is waaaaaaaaay to polarizing and would lose badly IMHO. Now, I dont want Clinton in the office but I am just stating my opinion as to the matter.

          • Anonymous

I’m afraid I would have to agree with you that Clinton would make a formidable opponent. She would definately have a better shot in 2012 than Obama. Let’s hope she stays out.

Disappointing to say the least but Herman Cain is a true conservative and he will get my vote, at least at this point anyways. Romney is NOT a Conservative and I don’t want him as our nominee. Perry has to much baggage. Cain for POTUS!

    • Mr. EMT

Look up Cain’s comments on TARP, he is no true conservative. He is not even a conservative. No conservative supports affirmative action, he earned a lifetime achievement award for it.
His comments on states and local government controlling gun laws was absolutely wrong, and every week when he is asked a question where the answer is not “States rights” he has to make a retraction.

    • Anonymous

My only problem with Cain is he has no foreign policy experience. Other than that he would be a strong candidate.

  • Anonymous

Sarah Palin has lost an incalculable amount of credibility.

How she can put a conservative face on these establishment candidates is beyond me. Silk purse from a sows ear.

How she can rally enthusiasm after this is beyond me.

I respect her enough to wait and listen. That is all.

  • Steven

Steve Jobs is gone and Sarah is not running. Well this has been some day! But I am glad that we finally came to the end of this whole process. We Palinistas believe so much that Palin could overcome all the odds and that our support and fervor was enough for her to go on to mount a run for the presidency, but Palin knew better.

This was her decision, because it was her life. She was going to have to be the one who had to perform and campaign. This truly was a monumental decision and she had to make the decision that was best for her family and for her future. She is still young and still a political force. Her time will come. The nation perhaps in her estimation, just is not ready to accept her yet. They will long for her though, when they see the continual corruption and degradation of our nation under Obama. They will yearn for her leadership when they see the fecklessness of Mitt Romney if he becomes president. They will know in their hearts that Palin was the real deal, that her vision and strength is exactly what this nation needs!

She will be back. When I can’t say, but I know that her fire to serve and to make a difference burns within her. She will chart a course now free from the pressure to get back at Obama. His fate is sealed. She can now do what she can to best prepare herself for a future run. Maybe in 2020? 2024, etc.

She has time, God willing. And if it’s not God’s will for her, then I am still grateful for the impact she had on our nation’s debate from 2008 to now. Without her leadership, the Tea Party would not be as effective. Without her determination, Obama and the Left could have inflicted more damage on our nation.

So stand strong Palinistas! We have to be instrumental in defeating Obama in 2012!! There is no time for pity parties and resentment. It’s time to nominate a true conservative nominee or insist that our conservative values are embraced by our nominee unabashedly in 2012! Anyone of our current candidates are better than Obama! For our country and its future let’s rally around the most conservative nominee and win this election!

      Well said :)

  • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Ozzie

There was no sense in splitting the conservative vote with Cain picking up so much steam. It was the right move. If Romney had maintained a lead with the non-RINO candidates trailing badly, I think it would have played out differently. Her joining the campaign would have knocked Cain back to 2nd tier status and would have left us with Perry or Romney, from which Romney would have come out on top.

    • Mr. EMT

Cain is only slightly on some issues to the right of romney, and left on every issue of Perry.

      • Anonymous

OK, now is not the time to start flogging Perry. Just give it a rest already.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CWN7FFBJTBYORDVRYNT2DXDDAI S

I was a huge fan of sarah palin. Iam British and defended her countless times from those who believed the trash written about her in the media. And almost all of it was trash. When she first spoke to accept the nomination from Mcain I saw star quality charisma , she had a way of connecting with the common man and woman in my opinion.Such a pleasant contrast to the elitism we see amongst the political class. When I read more about her , I realised this was a politician who would sacrifice her career for what is right. Again a contrast to careerist politicians. Plus I agreed with most of her political positions.

I noticed the concerted media campaign to destroy her. It was an education to me,just how they can blatantly lie and get away with it. Never again will I take things at face value from the media. No media simply reports the news these days, they all have an agenda ,interests and a political leaning.

To me this decision, has destroyed any remaining credibility she had as a political figure. I gave her the benefit of the doubt unlike other conservatives when she resigned as governor, it was true about the ethics lawsuits, but even then I wondered if she wasn’t just showing her enemies she cannot dig down and fight her corner. I was unsettled but I pressed on. Iam sorry but with this decision she has proven her detractors right on two things, one that she strung people along and two that she wouldn’t step up to the plate. It is one thing to snipe at the president from the sidelines and the establishment of both parties ,that is fine there is much to criticise, but at some point you need to put up or shut up. Or you lose all credibility.

And frankly I don’t believe there is anyone else on the current republican line up that impresses me. I think america will either get 4 more years of Obama or just some republican stuffed shirt , and it will be business as usual. A change of management will not bring the change America badly needs. Obama proved that even the libs agree. What depresses me the most, was sarah represented the only light on the political scene who I felt would clean out congress and wouldn’t allow herself to be bought.I felt that feeling of true revolutionary change might filter to the UK ,as things often do from the US. That hope is all over with now.

Wow S, I feel like I could’ve written what you just posted. You said exactly what I’ve been thinking. The Palinistas will continue supporting her but I think she’s really missed her time this cycle. Now she’s just another pundit…..So let’s see…Johnson=kook, Bachman=appears weak, Huntsman=democrat, Newt=think picture side by side with pelosi, Perry=poser, Romney=RINO, Cain……he seems good but since he’s been in the public eye this cycle he makes these strange “slip-ups” that make me think he’s not what he seems (criticizing Perry over that stupid rock on his hunting lease, claiming no muslim will serve in his administration w/out making some pledge or something like that, and in the beginning claiming that obama would be afraid to fight a real black man). There’s been other things but he keeps doing weird stuff like that. But still anyoftheabove would do a better job than the maxist in chief.

Oh yeah the pain is felt by many!

Just appreciate and think about what she has already accomplished without running. Never again will you take things at face value from the media. They all have an agenda. You might as well add to that, the power brokers of both political parties, the bankers and wall street folks that wanted Chris Christie, the executives at FOX who wanted her silenced. It is very depressing but she exposed it for all to see. This woman has already done more than any man has in a hundred years. As a mother, what she wouldn’t do right now is utter the words “give me liberty or give me death”. It included her family. She remains the best leader any where near the race, on either side. She just was not going to get elected in the conventional way. She knew it. We haven’t seen the last of her. Unfortunately we have seen the end of America as it once was. There are terrible times ahead.

  • Anonymous

Well, I said I’d be disappointed, and I am. I think we just lost a chance to restore this country to it’s Constitutional roots. I’ll trust that she made the right decision, based on her take from the polls and her own internal polling.

I can’t get behind Herman Cain’s campaign, but now I’m really stuck for who to support. The default choice, warty illegal alien problems and all, would be Perry.

Cain won’t change his stupid “666” plan, no matter what, so he will absolutely not get past Romney.

Bachmann has the same negatives as Palin, but without the massive following that Palin has just lost.

Santorum manages to avoid pressing for restoration, and instead seems bent on selling reform, like Cain, but he keeps leading with the Social issues instead of economic ones.

    Romney? No thanks.
    Huntsman? No way.

Time to ignore politics, start stocking up on “supplies”, and preparing for the long, terrible decline into European uselessness.

This is a sad day for this country. But it’s time to get past it.

  • Mr. EMT

Im going to repeat some things I have said before an give some comments I have waited to say when Palin finally declared her intent.

I am not surprised at what she did.
I also would not have been surprised had she run.

Her family said months ago that Sarah would not run because they had been getting death threats and just wanted to be left alone..
Then Karl Rove came out and said, “I have it on good authority she is going to run.”

Sarah for better or worse represented Conservatism.
She put a pretty face on it and gave everyone something to dream about when they thought of conservative values.
A lot of her fan base is made up of people who painted Sarah into something she is not.
She is not perfect, not even close.
She is one of the best, but not the best.
She proved that in the past when she appointed a pro abortion judge as her last act as governor.
She proved it when she made endorsements that left conservatives scratching their heads, Mccain, Carly Fiorina etc.
WE, myself included, made excuses for her imperfections, saying such things as politics make strange bed fellows and we still supported her because she gave voice to a lot of the things we hold dear.
The American Dream, our first through 10th amendment rights and love of God Guts and Country.

A lot of palinistas have egg all over their faces.
The canible sheep of the group will let their love turn into hate. Which I believe is exactly what Kar Rove wants.
The conservatives need to learn from Sarah and Reload, not Retreat.

You better take the blinders off your eyes and take a look at what we have to work with.
As I said, Sarah was not the most conservative one running.
She was a distant second place behind Perry.

There are only 2 issues that have been brought up on Perry that candidates have tried to throw mud at him over. Gardasil and the Texas Dream Act.
Both issues he handled the same way Reagan would have done.
You all forget our history as the party who has a heart and gives our neighbor a hand with out asking for payment. You have let socialists muddy the waters until you have grown blind to what we believe in and hold dear.
We do not tolerate freeloaders, but neither do we turn our backs on those in need. We do not give hand outs, but if you need a hand up I got a shoulder to lean on.

Rick admits he made a mistake about using an EO with opt out for gardasil. Meanwhile every Cancer specialist, the CDC, and gynocologist all support what Perry did with the leading voice on Cancer, the president of M.D. Anderson hospital stating to stand against Gardasil is unethical. With voices such as these influencing the decision of the governor, you may disagree on his methods, but you are only a marginal portion of the conservatives who do. This is no win topic evidenced by the crash and burn bachmann did over it.

You know, it was not long ago in America’s history that GOP Candidate for President, a RINO and Former Democrat, Opposes a Border Fence and Supports Free K-12 Education for Illegals and turned into an AIDS activist. That was Reagan, not Perry.

Perry’s list of accomplishments make any self respecting conservative green with envy.
Voter ID, multiple Tort Reform bills, Multiple bills for property rights protection and protection from EPA, tax cuts, spending cuts, job growth and creation with our ties with Israel that have made Texas the 4th largest trade partner Israel has directly because of policies Perry won. 400 million in increased budgets and measures for border security, Castle Law, a long list of strongly principled conservatives to judicial appointments.
And to date the only things his critics have said is we make sure you get off your butt get educated and get productive and he used every weapon in his arsenal to fight cancer.
His growing list of endorsements include Bobby Jindal, Dr. Melissa Clouthie, and the highest rated conservative the State of Texas, Wayne Christian. If Perry keeps shooting himself in the foot by speaking poorly, i don’t blame non conservatives who dont know any better to vote for romney or cain who both win the best used car salesmen awards..However,. Dont you call yourself a conservative while you trash Perry over his record when there is no one who has a stronger conservative record than he does.

Sarah Palin and her supporters have done far more for conservatism than you have done. Your “opinion” is worthless and I am not one to let a worthless POS like you tell me what to do, what to think and how to feel.

Take your “advice” and shove it up your ass.

Oh, and enjoy another four more years of Obama, because that’s what you’re going to get whether Palin had run or not. Your precious RINOs won’t make the cut either.

      • Mr. EMT

First place you dont know who I am or what I have done, your assumptions ring pretty hollow when you prefer four more years of obamao to anyone else running.
Look in the mirror next time you go rino hunting, shill.

  • joel Fiser

I consider this a dereliction of duty and cowardice in the extreme. Obviously all her talk about duty to country was a load of BS.

    • Anonymous

Yeah, she’s not “brave” like some dumbass with a keyboard and a handful of stupid accusations.

  • Anonymous

We need Sarah Palin as President. She could have pulled off a third party victory, I believe. I don’t think the GOP would have allowed her to win the GOP nomination.

    We’re in trouble.

Like Levin, I understand, but now I’m really scared. I don’t see how Governor Palin can have any significant effect in this nebulous role she’s talking about now.

Tin-foil hat time : obama briefly gets control of his ego OR his party primaries him and Hillary is the nominee. Game over.

    • http://twitter.com/texasps Paula

You might be right, there is no way Obama can win reelection. LOL And Hillary did get a facelift for the occasion.

  • Anonymous

I think this must have been a hard decision for her. I don’t think she “knew months ago” like some on this board have been saying. I believe it did come down to the fact that she has young children and grandchildren and her family comes first. I can’t fault her for that; that’s exactly how it should be.

Sarah never *promised anyone* she would run. I honestly understand her comments about being “shackled” by a Presidential run and just today higher-ups in the RNC started proclaiming they “have their nominee”. Sarah can still drive the debate and foil the RNC’s plans and make sure the people are heard. And she will.

  • Anonymous

I think this really hit Levin hard. His voice sounds emotional and shaky. I’ve never heard him sound this way before.

    • Anonymous

One of Levin’s greatest fears has always been that this country would elect another R that ended up acting more like an uninspired D. That will be the end of our party. People have to see a clear difference between the 2 parties and if they can’t then they will always vote “D”. The hypocrasy of the republican elites, RINO’s, is just too much for people to swallow. Real conservatism is unmistakeable and I think that’s what Levin was hoping he saw in palin. Now that she’s officially out does anyone have a credible beef with Santorum? He’s the only person out there that hasn’t disqualified himself in my opinion or am I missing something?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6ITOVBTCRPCL43EG3WWEOBX4AE GregM

I’m not surprised. The amount of obsessive hate this woman draws had to be a concern. Her family’s safety had to come first.

Worst day of our lives, best day of Romney’s life.

I didn’t want him but I’ll support him now. The left is going to flip now and try to destroy Romney. Don’t let it happen.

Obama can not be re-elected. Now it’s time to watch Romney go HARD to the right. The Tea Party is going to be freaking out, he’ll be smart to court it(us).

OMG! Theirs a video now! How long did it take to make this crap and she knew weeks ago! I feel like I got pissed on!

I can not believe everyone is still falling along! STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR P ! She had the bus tour, Took shots at candidates, showed up at the iowa straw poll, made the glossy video, made two incredible speeches, talk a good game on foxnews channel!!! Then after months of leading on SHE GIVES A CHEAP ANSWER ABOUT FAMILY, WITH A CHEAP VIDEO!!!!! This really burns!

I can not imagine how Peter singleton, Bannon, Tammy Bruce, and so many others feel right now! My heart goes out to them! A sad day in America!

needless to say, i’m angry and very, very sad.

i lost respect for her. i no longer support her. i don’t dislike her and i don’t have a desire to work against her. but i am not going to stand by her side anymore. i won’t help or hurt her, i’m neutral.

thanks a lot sarah for keeping us waiting for months and then bringing us down.

    • Garym

Jesus de Cristo. People need to calm down.

    • Anonymous

Exactly! All these people talking about Obama being a cult of personality; yet all these Palin supporters can’t be objective and state the fact: She’s a quitter. And Mark is really pissing me off with his ass kissing. I love you Mark, but quit kissing a quitters ass. I would have voted for her in a second.

  • Anonymous

Mark identifies with her? She reminds him of Reagan? Dear Allah!

Mark’s show is turning into the VIEW. Next, he’s going to cry on air. If he does that, I’m not listening for a week.

We’ve got millions of cheerleaders for the conservative cause. One more will just add to the masses. Thanks for nothing, Palin.

  • Anonymous

I am disappointed by this. Sarah was the only one who has had me excited and motivated. While she is not my idea of a perfect candidate, I have the utmost trust in her character and patriotism.

The fact that she is not running makes me feel as if she’s been leading her fans on. Not that she was, but I can’t help but feel that way. I can’t imagine what her die-hard Palinistas think.

  • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour issued a stern warning to conservatives: relent on ideological purity in the primaries or risk losing the general election.

“We’re going to nominate someone for president who doesn’t agree with you on everything and who you don’t agree with on everything,” Barbour said. “But I’ll tell you what. You’re going to agree with them a whole lot more than you agree with Barack Obama.”

    • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Ozzie

Can you post that in a Ron Paul forum? They need that message.

While it may be true, we don’t have to settle for a candidate that will fit any mold and has no obvious values.

I will vote for anyone but Obama, however, I want us to try hard to make that alternative candidate a solid conservative…….and conservative is one thing, but following the media’s lead into the social issues is suicide for a candidate so they need to stop taking the bait on the social issues and always bring it back to the economy.

      • http://twitter.com/cfallon57 Cheryl Fallon

You can’t take the country from where it has been or where it is at to where you want it to be with one election! I guess you just didn’t understand my post.
