UPDATE: UPDATE 31 KILLED, NOW 147 wounded at Istanbul airport terror attack

The news is reporting 2 explosions as well as gunshots fired at Ataturk Airport, the largest airport in Turkey which resides in Istanbul:

DAILY SABAH – A terror attack targeted Istanbul’s main Atatürk Airport late Tuesday, leaving 10 civilians dead and 60 others wounded, Turkish officials said.

A health official, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions, said to the media that six injured were in a critical condition.

The blast occurred at the entrance of international flights terminal. Officials said that the incident is a suicide attack. Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ said that one of the terrorists opened fire on people with automatic rifle and then blew himself up.

According to a Turkish official who spoke to Daily Sabah on the condition of anonymity, security forces fired shots at suspects at the international terminal’s entry in an effort to neutralize them. Two suspects blew themselves up.

Eyewitnesses said that they saw some 30 ambulances enter the airport. The wounded, among them police officers, were being transferred to Bakırköy State Hospital.

Multiple injuries being reported:

Two explosions and gunfire took place at the Istanbul Ataturk airport Tuesday, the Turkish interior ministry said.

The ministry reported multiple injuries, but the exact number was not immediately clear.
