Carney dodges question on Sen. Obama voting in 2005 for over 2 billion in tax cuts to the oil industry

What a great question from Ed Henry, especially with all the big hoopla Obama is making about ‘record profits’ of oil companies because of higher gas prices. In 2005 Senator Obama voted for an energy bill that included, according to Henry, over 2 billion in tax cuts to the oil industry when Henry says at that time they were making a lot of money too.

Carney can’t answer it:

Carney is a tool… and sadly, that tool is used for one thing: To spin things.

    He is useless.

Let us not kid ourselves here. The dollar is going down in value and that is why gas is expensive and something can be done about it. Get rid of Obama!

  • I don’t know about the American people not going along with it. Senate democrat officials seemed to have no problem with it today.

  • They need to rename the WH Press Sect office to the WH Spinner Secretary

Whatever. If the gas/oil companies are showing record profits then the Federal Government is raking in the dough too.

According to Exxon Mobil in 2011 They made 2 cents profit per gallon of gas. The average state gas tax per gallon was 48.1 cents ( which I assume includes Federal taxes.)

So the Feds can give billions to green energy, but don’t want to give 2 bill to the gas companies. Don’t then and raise the price of gas even higher.

We have to get these socialists out of this government.

Just like with cigarettes, everyone is making a ton of dough off the gas business except the people who take the risks of finding the oil, bringing up from the earth, etc, etc, etc….

This is what I am sick of with politicians. Obama isn’t the only one that does it, although he may be the worst. No ethics or honesty in political positions. It’s all posturing and pandering. This is why I like Allen West. He positions himself with real beliefs and integrity, not by what benefits him the most at the time.

Better for thr American tax payer to subsidize algae as a power source.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a president like Newt who would not send people out to dodge, hedge, spin, hem, haw, lie, play word games?

Nor would he allow the media to spin, accuse, propagandize with him?

And you would not be nervous or afraid of what he would say?

Gosh, Newt could even do his own press conferences.

Compare the three candidates and their handling of the media:

  • NYGino

“I haven’t examined the vote or what the prices were at the time or the whole bill that it was attached to”

As if his job is to examine anything and offer his opinion. His job is to tell the press what he is told to tell the press, period.

  • NYGino

Carney says the oil and gas companies don’t need any incentives to drill, explore and develop. This is true. What they do need is an administration that WILL let them drill, explore and develop.

  • GEDouglas

Removing subsidies will only increase the cost of gas. Knuckle head and BO know that. Carney is just like his boss…a liar.

    Three important points here.

One, the oil companies make record high profits because they are the largest companies in the world. What one should look at is profit margin, not total profit. That is what they take home in their pockets and oil companies rank about 112th (about 7-8%) on the list of profit margins. Just ask what Apple’s profit margins are? Hmmm

Two, it’s the small oil companies that are helped by the subsidies, not the large oil companies. Obama always lies about everything.

And three, anything taken away from the oil companies, is passed on down to the consumer. So who is Obama hurting by taking anything away from the oil companies?

Rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric. That’s all we ever hear from this White House. Ptui.
