CNN reminds us that in 2007 Obama pledged to the VFW to end the delays for care:
“When we fail to keep faith with our veterans, the bond between our nation and our nation’s heroes becomes frayed. When a veteran is denied care, we are all dishonored.”
Drew Griffin, investigative journalist for CNN, also reports that the GAO has been reporting on problems with the reliability of the VA data for decades.
He goes on to point out that if Obama is truly ‘mad as hell’ about the horrendous wait times and the deaths of veterans on those secret lists, he should be mad at himself and his staff for ignoring the governments own reporting on this and for ignoring his own pledge back in 2007.
