Colorado standoff in shooting of FBI agent ends with bank-robbing suspect DEAD

A standoff ensued after an FBI agent was shot in the leg while serving an arrest warrant on a notorious bank robber in Littleton, Colorado.

An FBI agent was shot in the leg Friday afternoon while serving a warrant for a bank robbery suspect at a motel in Littleton, Colo., police say.

Littleton police Lt. Trent Cooper says the agent, whose name has not been released, was shot at the Essex House Motel in Littleton at about 4 p.m. Friday, The Associated Press reported. The agent was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was barricaded at the motel Friday night.

The FBI was working with Littleton police to serve the warrant when the suspect fired shots toward the agents and officers, authorities said.

Denver police said they are assisting Littleton police in the operation.
