The Congressional Black Caucus seeks to keep from making the first black president looking bad, so the chairwoman silenced her 40 member crew from criticizing the Syrian war plan for now:

FOREIGN POLICY – As an increasing number of African-American lawmakers voice dissent over the Obama administration’s war plans in Syria, the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has asked members to “limit public comment” on the issue until they are briefed by senior administration officials.

A congressional aide to a CBC member called the request “eyebrow-raising,” in an interview with The Cable, and said the request was designed to quiet dissent while shoring up support for President Obama’s Syria strategy.

The CBC, a crucial bloc of more than 40 votes the White House likely needs to authorize a military strike in Syria, is scheduled to be briefed by White House National Security Advisor Susan Rice on Monday. Until then, CBC chairwoman Marcia Fudge has asked colleagues to “limit public comment until [they] receive additional details,” Fudge spokeswoman Ayofemi Kirby told The Cable.

When asked if the White House requested the partial gag order, National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said “the Administration is reaching out to all Members to ensure they have the information they need to make an informed judgment on this issue.” Kirby said it was her boss’s request and was aimed at keeping members informed rather than silencing anti-war members.

In recent days, a number of black lawmakers from Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) to Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) have expressed skepticism over the administration’s plan to wage a surgical military strike in Syria. “We must learn the lessons of the past. Lessons from Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and others,” said Lee, who remains opposed to a Syrian intervention.

“If I felt for one minute that my nation was in danger, and I’m 83, I would volunteer and do something to protect her,” Rangel told The Cable on Wednesday. “But I’ll be damned if I see anything worth fighting for.”

With Democrats race is ALWAYS a factor.

“CBC chairwoman Marcia Fudge has asked colleagues to “limit public

She could have said that in 4 words. “Don’t Dis Da Brotha”.

  • RReaganRepublic

    Ah
yes, when the puppeteer pulls the strings, the puppets act as their
instructed.. So much for their so called principles, and whom are nothing more
than leftist ideology useful idiots to their masters of the Democrat party, who
are the old masters of the Confederacy / Slavery, Segregation, Jim Crow
    institutionalists..
    Amazing,
they just don’t get it.. That’s the power of indoctrination.
As far as Syria goes- as Charles Krauthammer stated:  If
U.S. attacked Nations for humanitarian motives, we’d be at war with half of
Africa, North Korea, China, Burma, etc, etc..
    With that said, I
never said that the U.S. should not intervene if the need to intervene is moral
and critical, in a humanitarian crisis such as genocide, and in a limited
capacity that would accomplish the objective without directly being attacked in
an act of war by a Nation. But , with the current evidence at hand, this is not
the situational case that would warrant such intervention militarily.
    As stated, the
circumstances of whom and what are not all that clear, and the objective cause
is precarious at beast, and would only be helping to install another Islamist
fascist extremist regime like Iran or Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, and so on at
    worst.
    Reagan understood
this, and would have made the judgement on whether to intervene or not, based
upon the circumstances, the factions involved, what if any US National Security was at risk, and lessons already learned.

No, we aren’t ‘equal’ enough to have our own Caucus (or our own TV network, or our own beauty contest)  ;- ;-)

  • fireme

Because they are programmed, robotic cowards who would have flourished under Hitler.

  • kong1967

    Yawn.  Do I look surprised?

  • TIMERUNNERSC

fireme The national Black racist aren’t doing to bad under their leader Muslim Brotherhood Imam Obama, of course the black citizens as a whole are being used like useful idiots. The Obama’s of the world such as the NBCaucus learned their lessons well under the rules of Adolf Hitler and Carl Marx.

  • TIMERUNNERSC

    Monkey see monkey do.

  • Army_Pilot1967

Skin color trumps the right thing to do……always!!!!

  • warrior0369

Isn’t that like ordering them to stay on the plantation until the Master gets home? Are you sure they can’t think  for themselves?

  • Bill in Tennessee

And where does the Congressional White Caucus stand on this issue? … or the Congressional Hispanic Caucus?  … or the Congressional Christian Caucus?  Wait…. WHAT?  No such caucuses exist, you  say?  That sounds racist and bigoted to me.

  • Las1

“Caitlin Hayden said “the Administration is reaching out to all Members
to ensure they have the information they need to make an informed
    judgment on this issue.”
Isn’t that just like bolshevik leftist progressives.  NOBODY has an informed opinion or position until the hardliners determine from on high what an “informed” opinion shall be.
CBC… Congressional Bolshevik Caucus… just like Allen West said it was.

  • Marridge

And Susan Rice has so much credibility. NOT.

  • The Sentinel

So much for objectivity or wisdom… For them, race and politics always trumps logic and reality.
I’m stunned that any members of the CBC (which I strongly believe shouldn’t exist) would divert from the footsteps of their anointed messiah. Seems kind of sacrilegious.

  • The Sentinel

    Marridge
I caught that too. She managed to slip jail for lying and got promoted for being another stooge for Obama. She’s the perfect puppet to parrot the words of her sugar daddy.

  • The Sentinel

    Army_Pilot1967
It sure has been that way under this regime.

  • Conservator1

I thought I read another article where O’Reilly was attacking Sarah Palin and other conservatives for opposing any military action in Syria because of some anonymity toward Obama.
The last time I checked Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) where great supporters of Obama and have backed him on virtually ever issue. I guess Billy got it wrong; the opposition had nothing to due with Obama or the color of his skin.
With regards to the CBC, I always thought an odd coalition of progressive Democrats and conservative Republicans in the House would defeat any call for military action. Since Obama’s foreign policy has been so dismal, I can’t support a Commander-in-chief who punted on his read line in a sad attempt to make them responsible for the outcome of a military strike on Syria.

  • clevonlittle

Cummings allowed yesterday that opposition was 9 to 1 against yet he was still for……….

  • Pancake3

Hey, NAACP, American is American, no matter the color.  Get off your ancient color kick.

  • Dukehoopsfan

clevonlittle My zip code got gerrymandered into cummings’ district a few years ago.  He is a pathetic excuse for an elected representative.  He walks in lock-step with the liberal, race baiting, herd.  His district does not include the 47% of voters that do not work … it’s more like 90%.

  • Dkap

Hey black caucus, all that work you witnessed and possibly were a part of over the years to have a voice and now, at this critical time for the “human race” you silence it. Your “race card” is no longer accepted here, credibility denied.

  • lawngreen

It’s good to have the documentation. Thank you, Scoop, for doing the searching. But I’m not surprised.
When do we get a Congressional White Caucus?
Far more importantly, when do we get a National Association for the PROTECTION and Advancement of White people? If the NAACP and the CBC are not racist, then by definition my suggestions can’t be racist.

  • lawngreen

    Dkap  Well said.

  • lawngreen

warrior0369  I’m sure they can’t think for themselves. If they could, they wouldn’t be members of the CBC.

  • Army_Pilot1967

The Sentinel  Army_Pilot1967 Yeah, some of those folks will stick together whether it’s best for America or not.  They don’t want to embarrass or not support their leader even if supporting him might be detrimental to the US.

  • Army_Pilot1967

tinlizzieowner More of the “skin color trumping the right thing to do” syndrome!

  • Longiron

Black Caucus probably thinks that Syriea is some new TV show or ice cream ???? Sheila Jackson and Maxine Walters  wants to know where in Irag are they located ????

  • USMC 64-68

The racist Congretional Black Commies don’t want to help Dear Leader fight any more muslims, they’re tired from their battle against the Constitution and white Americans.

  • Pancake3

Does the Congressional Black Caucus distinguish between Americans of one type or another?

  • USMC 64-68

    Pancake3
    Yep – they’re segregationists!
