‘Crow as they may right now, we won’t allow Ted to lose’ – Mark Levin on Cruz

I don’t want to make too much out of it, because it’s just a tweet, but it’s also a pretty strong statement from an influential conservative on a very significant political player whose future is up in the air right now.

Roll the tweet, mister producer!!!

The article promises more than it delivers, but how Levin responds is pretty pivotal. There’s a LOT of talk about Cruz’s supposed political demise and the cheeto-faced dimwit says he’ll put $20 million of his own money towards defeating him. But there’s also a lot of support for the one guy who put it all on the line to stand up to Emperor Trump and ask conservatives to “vote your conscience.”

The Star-Telegram cites Cruz’s fundraising as a sign that he’s unsure of his re-election, which is flimsy evidence indeed:

Suddenly, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, isn’t acting like a shoo-in for re-election.

After his prime-time non-endorsement of GOP nominee Donald Trump at the Cleveland convention caused a firestorm, Cruz became the target of a lot of speculation. Already Democrats such as former State Sen. Wendy Davis, formerly of Fort Worth, and U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro of San Antonio are talking about throwing their hats in the ring for U.S. Senate in 2018.

As soon as Castro said in a joint CBS News’ interview with his brother, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro, that he was “going to take a look at it,” Cruz launched a fundraising appeal.

The real question is whether his constituents are willing to send him back to the Senate or if he’s lost support for daring to defy the GOP nominee. If he does lose supporters, I don’t understand it at all – didn’t they vote for Cruz in the first place because he was so willing to defy the GOP establishment?

It certainly helps to have a big hitter like Levin in Cruz’s corner…
