Dana Loesch asks a really important question to Glenn Beck, and one that every Ted Cruz fan, former and otherwise, should think about:
Did some people put too much faith in Ted Cruz? Glenn Beck says yes, himself included. I really think that gets to the heart of the issue between those who think he betrayed his principles and the cause.
People wanted to believe that Cruz was the leader of the “Never Trump” crowd, but they assumed that, without listening to his words. He never said not to vote for Trump, he said “vote your conscience.” It was hilarious to see Trump supporters freak out, assuming he meant that no one should vote for Trump. But it’s clear now that Cruz supporters read into his words also, believing he was saying to never vote Trump.
Cruz was not a savior, and anyone who treated him as such felt deep, deep betrayal. If you saw him as a politician, a lawyer, who was our best chance to beat the Donald and shut down Hillary, you had a much more sober view of the man.
And an important lesson for us, as we march forth fighting the good fight.
