UPDATE: Here’s the Wall St. Journal’s article on the announcement that Palin is back with Fox News:

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is rejoining Fox News as a contributor, network Chairman and Chief Executive Roger Ailes said.

Ms. Palin became a national celebrity after her unsuccessful 2008 vice presidential turned into a media career as a paid Fox News contributor from January 2010 to January of this year. The Wall Street Journal reported in January that Ms. Palin wouldn’t be renewing her contract with the cable news networking, citing a person familiar with the matter.

“I’ve had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining Fox News as a contributor,” Mr. Ailes said Thursday. “I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming.”

Ms. Palin will appear on Fox News Channel’s daytime and primetime programming, starting with Fox & Friends on Monday. She will also contribute to Fox Business Network.

Mr. Ailes told the Associated Press in 2011, “I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.”
