In an episode of Big Brother UK, Evander Holyfield, in a conversation with a roommate, expressed his Christian view that being gay is not normal, that it’s a choice and it can be fixed. But that didn’t go over too well with the Big Brother producers and they admonished him for speaking such an offensive view in the house and warned him not to do it again:
The roommate with whom Evander was having the ‘gay’ discussion wasn’t admonished because she agreed with the popular view that homosexuality isn’t a choice and that it’s A-OK. But because Evander disagreed and stated his opinion on the show, he was silenced. See how it works? It’s OK for you to have a differing opinion as long as you keep it to yourself and don’t speak it out loud.
Isn’t tolerance grand?
