When terrorists slaughtered cartoonists and journalists in France, they didn’t realize they were awakening a stupid sleeping giant. Members of the press quickly look away when Islam attacks anyone else except the only community they care about: journalists! That’s why Chris Matthews denied the common liberal claim that poverty and societal disenfranchisement were the real causes of terrorism.

Let’s hope that journalists manage to keep their heads out of their Obamas even after this story dies down. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
