Flashback Obama 2010: True engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra

This man will say anything, no matter how stupid it makes him look later on. Just on this one point alone, touting green energy as the true engine of economic growth, the MSM could have a freaking field day over the BILLIONS of taxpayer money poured into green companies that have already failed. Yet they remain silent to protect their dictator wanna-be.

Here’s the clip:

It is so embarrassing that this man is POTUS! America deserves better!

    • I am still STUNNED that 54 million people were duped by this fraud. Well, I don’t know how many of those 54 million were actually living since he did get the majority of the dead vote. Lol

    • Livin_Large

The fact of the matter is that YOU CLOWNS DON”T HAVE ANYBODY!

How about ROMNEY & HERMAN CAINE??? SARAH HALF-TERM??? NEWT THE POMPOUS PHILANDERER? Ron “Little Napoleon” Paul? Pathetic.

  • kclightguy

Having Obama try to pick business winners with his Community Organizer /Socialist background is like having my dog act as judge in a Miss America contest. There is just NOTHING to qualify him for the job.

  • toongoon

“The true engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra.”

My oh my, what better example of out of control government, a singular dictator wannabe, who confiscates the money of hard working people and their children and grandchildren, gives it to a donor who starts a company in a field where the technology is in it’s infancy with no accountability to the taxpayer. The company folds, the employees are in the unemployment line, the donor/business owner and his cronies have no responsibility to pay the money back to the taxpayers and keep the spoils. But that donor/business owner and his cronies have enough money to donate again to presidential run. Maybe even start another company with more funds from obama.

Multiply that by whatever amount of companies that he “helped” create and we have a serious problem in this country.

Seems that HIS true engine of “economic growth” is spending our money so that just enough of it comes back so he can buy his re-election.

Barack Obama is seriously deranged. Congress needs to stand up for once and remove him from office for psychiatric issues.

At least Bain capitol was funded by investors who knew they were taking a chance on their investments. He is playing fast and loose with everybody’s hard earned income, careers, and lives.

    • warpmine

Except that green energy isn’t an economic engine, it’s an economic shredder.

  • badbadlibs

I will forever blame the MSM for the decline of this country. They have created a bubble for bo, he’s enjoyed the protection they offer from their silence and outright lies…er..help when needed.

    • actionsspeaklouder

I agree. The MSM are traitors.

  • hongryhawg

An incredible lie, yes. And he knew it was a lie. Many supporters didn’t believe it was a lie. They wanted to believe. But that was when the pretender was a Pig in a Poke. He is no longer that.

    • actionsspeaklouder

Correct. Now, he’s just a pig.

      • Livin_Large

I imagine you’d look good with an apple in one orifice and a vaginal probe in another.

  • sjmom

All I have to say is “Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction”. Prov. 10:14

  • rjcylon

I’m concerned for his mental health. Tax payer subsidized companies that create products no one wants, then go bankrupt are the engine of economic growth?

  • kong1967

What he wanted was government subsidized energy in order to run the oil companies out of business. Didn’t have to be profitable, it just had to destroy the oil industry. Anything to drive the cost of gas up to $10 a gallon so we would happily jump over to his ridiculous electric cars.

At the same time, they are trying to destroy the coal industry.

I’m not a mastermind or a genius, but isn’t there a conflict here? HALF of our electricity comes from coal. Are these idiots so stupid that they jump to a source of energy they are also trying to destroy?

  • 911Infidel

What a buch of shite. The true engine of economic growth is freedom and innovation w/o government interference or bailouts and grant monies.

  • Jay

Dictator wannabe is correct. When he loses the election or even when he finally realizes that his popularity has slipped, he is going to become very dangerous. I have no doubt that a real or manufactured crisis will be all he needs to declare martial law and suspend elections “for the good of the people.” After I read “Obama Nation” by Dr. Corsi before the election I have had no doubt it’s his aim to take over.

  • Coming Apart

“True engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra,” this simple
statement says it all about President Obama’s understanding of the economy!

  • Suzyqpie

When Pres 0bama speaks, lurking in the back of my mind is always the same question, wonder who told him to say that? Everyday observing him is akin to watching a new Broadway play.

    • actionsspeaklouder

One that should have been shut down after the first performance.

  • WestGAFlash

King Barry misses a very salient point. The job of the Federalista’s is not to prop up selected industries based on political favors, but to get our of the way (as previously stated here) and let markets drive innovation and customer demand. Works every time.

And the inconvenient second fact is he has absolutely no Constitutional authority to pick ANY business and prop it up, much less with taxpayer money. But when Frank Marshall Davis is the key influence in your life………….

    • Livin_Large

Most of you yokels wouldn’t have electricity if it wasn’t for FDR.

      • WestGAFlash

You don’t have the faintest idea what the Rural Electrification Act did.

        • Livin_Large

Aw, that’s sweet. You called me “homey.” Is that like “Homeboy” or “Homer Simpson”? But you did pick up on my point! God bless FDR. The South would be a poorer place if there was no air conditioning. Heck, it gets so hot that people get really stupid! But that FDR put the engineers to work and got those transmission lines up and those dams built and before you know it you folks were wearing shoes!

          • WestGAFlash

The Rural Electrification Act merely authorized the Department of Agriculture to loaned cheap money to entities to create Electric Cooperatives in rural settings, which to this day are non-profit. Now that you flunked you history lesson, show me where in the Constitution FDR was authorized to do this? You can’t, because it ain’t there.

            • Livin_Large

That’s simply not true. You frame rural electrification as financing. As I’m sure most people know TVA operates 29 hydro-electric facilities and provides cooperative-owned power to tens of millions of Americans.

The constitutional issue was settled by the Supremes in 1936 (Ashwander vs. TVA). The Court found that regulating commerce among the states includes regulation of streams and that controlling floods is required for keeping streams navigable. The court found that electricity generation was a by-product of navigation and flood control and therefore could be considered constitutional.

I’m curious whether you think it would have been better for the Tennesee Valley to persist in its disease and poverty-ridden state rather than attribute credit for a brilliant work of public policy to the administration of Franklin Roosevelt?

              • WestGAFlash

Really? The REA had nothing to do with TVA. Two separate issues. You lack of history is showing. Actually, it’s glaring.

                • Livin_Large

Nice job trying to frame the issue, but it’s pretty thin. Sounds like you don’t have anything to add.

  • KM

I never thought I would see anyone that was constantly wrong like Jimmy Carter. But, then obama…

    Two in one lifetime. Wow!

I just had to post this, Lou Reed’s “Take A Walk on the Wild Side” just seems so appropriate: (just substitute obama for any of the names)

    Holly came from Miami, Fla
Hitchhiked her way across the USA.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her leg and then he was she – she said:

Hey Babe, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey honey, take a walk on the wild side.

Candy came from out on the island,
In the backroom she was everybodys darling,
But she never lost her head
Even when she was given head – she said

Hey Babe, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey honey, take a walk on the wild side.
And the coloured girls go, doo dodoo

Little Joe never once gave it away,
Ev’rybody had to pay and pay.
A hustle here and a hustle there
New York city is no place where they said:

Hey Babe, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey honey, take a walk on the wild side.

Sugar plum fairy came and hit the streets
Looking for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo, you should have seen him go go go – they said:

Hey Sugar, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey honey, take a walk on the wild side.

    Jackie is just speeding away,
Thought she was James Dean for a day
Then I guess she had to crash, Valium would have helped that bash – she said:

Hey Sugar, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey honey, take a walk on the wild side.
And the coloured girls go, doo dodoo

But he’s still got a 47% job approval rating. Who are these 47%? Do they have minds that function?

…when your DEAR LEADER Mao Obama wakes up on the morning of Nov. 7th 2012 to a LANDSLIDE DEFEAT that is when America has to be the most VIGILANT OF YOUR LIBERTY !”

  • Worse, the mainstream media seems to be buying into this fantasy that Obama did not spend a lot of money while president. Forget about the fact that Obama has literally thrown away billions of dollars on “green” energy companies. I guess you’ll soon hear Obama say that it was really Bush that spent the wasted money on “green” energy and not him. I’m sure the mainstream media will be happy to buy that lie too.

  • Livin_Large

It’s not at all unusual for governments to incubate industries that serve a strategic objective.

This is a great time to buy solar but not a great time to be a US manufacturer. The price of alternative energy has plunged over the past several years and is approaching grid-parity in many markets. International competition among PV manufacturers has been fierce, and anti-dumping tariffs of up to 250% were recently imposed on Chinese manufacturers. Solyndra offered an innovative design, but had difficulty competing with generic Chinese manufacturers. The Invisible Hand favored “cheap” over “cool”. So be it. The Solyndra loans pre-dated the Obama administration and began under Bush.

I guess some of you think it’s a better idea to just cede renewable energy dominance to China and other countries. That’s a loser’s attitude.

  • He’s right – his donors’ economies grew.

  • and … Communists like you.
