The former Democrat Governor who many wanted to run for president has passed away.
Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, who served three terms from 1983 to 1994, and whose son currently holds the office, has died at the age of 82, according to multiple reports.
Cuomo was hospitalized for a heart treatment in November. He was described “in good spirits” at that time, according to a press release from the office of his son, Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Andrew Cuomo was inaugurated to his second term as governor earlier Thursday. Cuomo said in a speech that Mario Cuomo’s health prevented him from attending the ceremony.
