Franklin Graham: Christians could be wiped out in Iraq by ISIS in five years

Franklin Graham brings to our attention a report from the UK that suggests that Christians could be completely wiped out in Iraq by ISIS in five years:

Last week a sobering report was issued to the House of Lords in the United Kingdom stating that ISIS could wipe out Christianity in Iraq in just five years. Imagine Christianity being extinct in the country where historians say the Garden of Eden was, where Abraham lived, where Noah built the ark, and where Daniel was in the lion’s den! The report is named “Persecuted and Forgotten?” and Prime Minister David Cameron was not afraid to tell the truth—he said, “Every day in countries across the world, Christians are systematically discriminated against, exploited and even driven from their homes because of their faith.” The goal of the Islamic State is the same in Iraq, Syria, and everywhere around the world—erase every other religion besides Islam at whatever cost. Pray for Christians trying to survive in the Middle East.

Here a writeup on the report he is referencing:

EXPRESS – Iraqi christians, commonly known as Assyrian Christians, currently face two options, flee or suffer death at the hands of ISIS.

Christians lived peacefully in Iraq since the religion was founded, up until 2013. But when ISIS barbarians stormed the country in 2014 and declared the land as part of their Caliphate, they forced out or murdered Christians.

Under Saddam Hussein’s reign there were 1.4million Christians – but now only 260,000 remain as the number fleeing from Middle Eastern nations including Iraq, Pakistan and Syria escalates.

‘UK charity Aid to the Church in Need has now issued a report to the House of Lords this week warning the religion could be extinct in just five years.

Introducing the report named ‘Persecuted and Forgotten?’ Prime Minister David Cameron said: “Every day in countries across the world, Christians are systematically discriminated against, exploited and even driven from their homes because of their faith.

“Now is not the time for silence. We must stand together and fight for a world where no one is persecuted because of what they believe.”

What a horrible day we are living in, that something like this could even be a reality. Sadly, many Christians have already died and more will died at the hands of this Islamic beast.

But those who have died and will die for the sake of Christ Jesus won’t be forgotten, as Revelation 6 points out:

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Christ will avenge their blood when he returns to destroy the Islamic beast with seven heads and ten horns:

Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength?

“It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”

Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?

“I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption had come. I looked, but there was no one to help; I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold; so my own arm brought me salvation, and my wrath upheld me.

I trampled down the peoples in my anger; I made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

Edom, for those of you who don’t know, is Saudi Arabia. That’s where the Islamic beast with seven heads and ten horns was born, and when Christ returns he will destroy it.

But until then, if you really care about the Christians in the Middle East, I recommend you contribute to Walid Shoebat’s Rescue Christians organization which is actively rescuing Christians from the hands of Islamists who only want to enslave them or kill them.
