Giuliani says Mueller has agreed to ‘narrow the scope’ of Trump interview…

It really sounds like Mueller is going to get his chance to interview the president, despite all the advice Trump’s been given not to do it.

According to Giuliani, Mueller has already agreed to not ask about Michael Cohen:

NY POST – President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Friday that special counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of a potential interview with the commander-in-chief from five topics to two, CNN reported Friday.

Mueller is not considering asking Trump about his former personal attorney Michael Cohen, who is being investigated by the office of the US attorney for the Southern District of New York over his business dealings, Giuliani said.

The former New York City mayor told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day” that he could not go into much more detail, but that “the main focus we want is Russia.”

The network has recently reported that the areas that Mueller’s team indicated it wanted to pursue included the president’s role in crafting a statement aboard Air Force One about a June 2016 meeting with Russians in Trump Tower.

The team also wanted to delve into the firings of former FBI Director James Comey and national security adviser Michael Flynn, according to CNN.

In Friday’s interview, Giuliani also backpedaled the president’s tweeted claim that there was an FBI or Justice Department “confidential informant” embedded inside his campaign.

“I don’t know for sure, nor does the president, if there really was one,” he told Cuomo, adding that the team had been told that “off the record.”

“[We] don’t know if they’re right or not,” he said. “They’re people who knew a little about the investigation.”
