Goober Graham is at it again. Here’s what he said about Rand Paul’s filibuster of the Brennan nomination regarding drones:

“This idea that we’re going to use a drone to attack a citizen in a cafe in America is ridiculous.”

Lindsey made the remarks after dinner with Barack Obama.

Not surprising. I see that Graham is enjoying his role once again as a useful idiot.

Keep believing that, Gramnesty! You are as useless a piece of krap as ever.
(Why doesn’t he just become one of Obama’s sycophant Demunist’s and be done with it?)

    • Sober_Thinking

      Well said.

    • Sober_Thinking

      Well said.

    • M_J_S

He might after he goes done marrying his other sister.

    • bbitter

I thought he was already one of Obama’s ‘demunists’. Ever notice how many of the ‘republicans’ are suddenly calling for amnesty, gay marriage, gun control, ‘replacing’ Obamacare, and shifting their positions on abortion? Ever notice how whenever they bring up budget cuts, we end up spending more?

…I started comparing their stances with the democrat party platform and I can’t really find a difference.

Makes one wonder if there really is a two-party system anymore. The only difference for many reps is the letter in front of their name. I won’t contribute to the republican party because of this junk; I’ll not fund or support anyone who embraces those positions.

      • sDee

It is a one party system, all funded top down. The Federal government is lost to the globalists. Through nearly every piece of new legislation, money printing and debt, they siphon off the live blood of our economy for a few trinkets and a seat at the Politburo in return.

The battlefront to regain our liberty is at the state and local levels.

        • Dukehoopsfan

Exactly, the establishment pols take their direction from the offices along “K” street in DC. Most have little interest in or time for the wishes of the American people.

      • Suzyqpie

Actually, I’ve thought about that. Sometimes it seems like the two party system is the Rs & the Ds vs the American people. Yea I’ve thought of that. The Rs seemed to put up a compelling fight against ObamaCareRobersTax but now they hop on board with the Grow-Government Power gang. A third party is a loser strategy, split the Rs and the Ds will steam roll everything.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/KYTC7EGQASGOTQYPY2KPC4XCZY Don

Exactly, Mike. When McCain and his lapdog, Grahamnesty, made an issue of Benghazi because it was a complete breakdown of the presidency and the State Department, it caught everyone by surprise to see them stand up for anything. The president then takes these groveling cowards out to dinner with some other RINOs. Now McCain and Grahamnesty resort to the scumbags they are. For once in a extremely long time, American leaders like Paul, Cruz and Lee are surfacing showing the RINOs are nothing but whiney cowards whose only purpose is licking Obama’s “boots”.

Well Grahamnesty, one could make, and has made, the same argument on 2nd Amendment, right? That the gov’t would never become tyrannical so we should just give up our 2nd Amendment. But yet you are defending gun ownership (as you should). You swore to uphold the Constitution and to do otherwise is treason. I respectfully ask that you do as you suggested in your last rant, leave Congress and let the soldiers remain.

    What a useless person!
He sat too close to Bam at dinner and ir rubbed off on him.
To criticize Rand Paul is the last straw after all of his Big Talk about Chuck Hagel and then voting to confirm him.
Graham is a loser and he fears the young guns like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio. One old white Southern Senator said it was wonderful to see McCain sitting by Obama and laughing.

Folks, let’s not let the laugh be on us. Stand with the Young Guns!

Hey graham, where does it say they won’t attack a citizen in the USA in this letter from holder to Paul?

    Last part of letter.

The question you have posed is therefore entirely hypothetical, unlikely to occur, and one we hope no President will ever have to confront,” the letter continues. “It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States.”

“Were such an emergency to arise, I would examine the particular facts and circumstances before advising the President on the scope of his authority.

    —–

holder admits it’s possible under extraordinary circumstances and he would examine the facts .

Even if holder and obama promised they wouldn’t attack citizens in the USA, it would mean nothing.

  • Guest1776rcp

Right Lindsey, kind of like if one said in 1947 (after the SCOTUS made up separation of Church and state out of thin air) if one criticized the decision saying it will take Bibles out of schools people like Grahamnesty were there to tell them they’re crazy and that it will never happen. Then in 1963….

  • B-Funk

Graham’s old news. He should retire, though he won’t. What happened yesterday is like a death knell for progressive gop people. I like how Beck put it this morning: The Constitution took a gasp of fresh air yesterday!

  • americalsgt

It the idea is so ridiculous why have it at all? To say that I want the power to do something that I have no intention of doing, then your request is unnecessary. If you have no intentions of doing something then why do you need the power to do something you are never going to do? It’s like a kid asking for ice cream to be put in the freezer and saying that he wants it there just to know it’s there, but he is never going to eat it. R-I-G-H-T. Yea, we believe you.

    • Guest1776rcp

      Indeed! Spot on analogy.

  • Larchmonter445

Graham and the other white and gray hairs of the Republican Party are worthless. They have no spine, no principles and no value to the fight for the Constitution and the Economy. They always collapse like wet bread.

They are not on our side. Our side is us, not Senators and Congressmen. Any of them!

The People is our side. Learn that. If you depend on the elected, you will be disappointed.

Ben Carson and Sarah are much more leaders than any of those elected “leaders”.

  • Guest1776rcp

I remember the arguments about Bush and that he wouldn’t abuse the powers given to him with the PA and such but now look at Obama’s abuse of those very powers. Is Gramnesty a seer?

I only know of one way to make an absolute statement like Gramnesty made and that’s to not give this president or any future President the power to label an American citizen a terrorist and then take them out with no trial etc… The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves at the ignorance and lack of foresight by these morons in DC.

  • Spartan4Palin

So ‘Neville’ Graham traded the remaining info on what really happened in Benghazi for a dinner out with Obama?

That’s what it looks like to me? I doubt very seriously we will ever know where Obama was, or who came up with the embarrasing decision to blame an obscure video from a guy, who to this day remains in jail without a charge made against him? And what truly mistifys me is that not ONE reporter has been granted access or even tried to talk with him? I know, unfortunately, more about the goings on of the Kardashians and what latte shop they frequent.

So thank you, Lindsay (may I call you a moron) for showing the world what a true numbnut you are. The stand Senator Paul took on the floor was over the same (now useless) argument you supposedly took on over Benghazi. It will now to be known by the Obama administration, as a ‘dog and pony’ show if you continue to insist on info. Your determination to be a BFF to Obama has now come to fruition, and is seen as a sellout by many others. The information the families seek of those needlessly murdered in Benghazi will now be swept under the rug. Just as the USS Cole families have been, in trying to seek justice for over 10 years.

So congratulations on your GIANT leap into stupidity.

  • sDee

Add Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina to the McCain-Graham Club. I’ve gotten a lot of evasive double talk out of his office, but yesterday his true colors were on full display.

Not only did he not support Rand, Burr’s staff made it clear to me personally that they have no intention to stand and defend our constitutional rights. Everything is negotiable, even our right to due process.

  • http://twitter.com/PuritanD71 PuritanD71

It is interesting to note that he made his comments after dining with the “Chosen One”, instead of standing with the Constitution.

The chances are slim that he will be primaried. By the time most voters start even paying attention, we will see a Graham who would be more conservative than Sen. Cruz. They will be wondering why would anyone bother replacing such a person instead of knowing that he needs to be replaced.

In order for this to work, you have to have an unless. Without an unless, there is no need, and therefore, the question is what is the unless? I own a gun I never intend to use is a pointless statement. What I need to say is ” I have a hand gun I never intend to use ‘unless’ someone tries to hurt my wife or family.” Thus you know why I want the right and I explain why I own a hand gun. The government can only provide a ‘just because’, and without an explanation of what unless is then the answer should be no, you do not get to have the right to kill us by remote control.

You know what Rand Paul achieved yesterday? He actually STOOD for conservative values and he didn’t self-destruct, like the mainstream media probably wanted him to. If anything, Paul is now more popular than ever, and rightfully so. He showed that conservatives and libertarians need to physically stand up for something if they plan on achieving anything, or at the very least go over the heads of the mainstream media and be able to talk directly to the people of the United States. He is giving a voice to those of us in the wilderness and he is showing that playing by the old “country club” rules like McCain and Graham do only gives you political death on election day. STAND FOR SOMETHING!!! THAT is how you win people over and that is why Rand Paul is now the leader of the conservative movement in Congress. Deal with it, RINOs.

Isn’t it ironic that progressive Senators Wyden (D-Ore.) and Merkley (D-OR) praised Paul for pushing Brennan to clarify whether the CIA could ever target Americans on U.S. soil?

Thus I don’t believe it was a TRUE Goober moment. Also supporting Sen. Paul’s filibuster were Republican Senators John Barasso (Wyo.), Saxby Chambliss (Ga.), John Cornyn (Tex.), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Jerry Moran (Kan.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), John Thune (S.D.), and Patrick J. Toomey (Pa.).

Would Graham or McCain have the guts to take on Barasso, Rubio, Thune, Toomey or the GOP Minority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell? – of course not. These un-useful idiots only have the cojones to go after their brethren like Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Question was posed to the AG by the Senator as a “What if”, HYPOTHETICAL. As an American Citizen, I WANT to know his response and how the President of the United States, or any president of the US in the future, would handle this in the event it were to arise in the future.

HYPOTHETICAL (Dictionary.com) I especially like the last definition. That is how the politicians want to handle everything.

    1.
assumed by hypothesis; supposed: a hypothetical case.

    2.
of, pertaining to, involving, or characterized by hypothesis: hypothetical reasoning.

    3.
    given to making hypotheses.

    4.
    Logic.
    a.
(of a proposition) highly conjectural; not well supported by available evidence.

    b.
(of a proposition or syllogism) conditional.

    noun
    5.
a hypothetical situation, instance, etc.: The Secretary of Defense refused to discuss hypotheticals with the reporters.

  • DougIndeap

Paul asked whether “the President has the power to use lethal force, such as a drone strike, against a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and without trial.”

Holder responded first that the U.S. has not conducted drone strikes in the U.S. and has no intention of doing so and, further, the President rejects the use of military force where law enforcement authorities in the country provide the best means of incapacitating a terrorist threat. He next noted that Paul’s question thus is “entirely hypothetical [and] unlikely to occur” and responded: “It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the [U.S] for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the [U.S.]”

Duh! The Civil War is a case in point.

Yet Paul grandstands, during which he concedes Holder’s point and suggests that is not the question he had in mind: “Nobody questions if planes are flying towards the Twin Towers whether they can be repulsed by the military. Nobody questions whether a terrorist with a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher is attacking us, whether they can be repelled.”

Holder then responded: “It has come to my attention that you have now asked an additional question: ‘Does the President have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?’ The answer to that question is no.”

Again, duh! And, so it seems, Paul and Holder agree–on both his general and specific questions.

Yet Paul grandstands–to what end, other than grandstanding for his own political sake, is not clear. In that, given the tenor of this post and some of the comments, he appears to have been quite successful. Bully show!

This doesn’t surprise me one bit coming from from either Gramnesty or McLame they are both one in the same. They flip and flop around more than a paint can shaker at a Home Depot.
