John McCain got pretty angry on the House floor when his amendments to the immigration bill were denied the chance to be debated over. It’s almost as if the Democrats don’t really want to pass an immigration bill so that they can blame the Republicans for it.

The House may still be attempting to pass a border bill, but the Senate has already recessed for the next month, and that does not sit well with Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.). Taking to the Senate floor on Thursday night, McCain slammed Democratic leadership for its refusal to allow Republicans to offer amendments and go through the normal process of legislating, especially in light of “a crisis of incredible proportions” on the border.
These are the kinds of actions that don’t make it to the headlines and that normal people don’t understand. Which is why Republicans will be blamed regardless of whether they deserve it or not.
