‘ISRAEL SHOULD BE ANNIHILATED’

I’m not sure which is more offensive, this threat to annihilate Israel by an Iranian senior official or this British diplomat whitewashing Iran’s hatred for Israel:

TIMES NEWS ISRAEL – A senior Iranian official on Tuesday said Israel “should be annihilated,” and that the thawing relations with the West would not translate into a shift in Tehran’s position concerning the Jewish state.

Hussein Sheikholeslam, a foreign affairs adviser to parliament speaker Ali Larijani, told Iranian media that contrary to remarks by British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, “Our positions against the usurper Zionist regime have not changed at all; Israel should be annihilated and this is our ultimate slogan.”

Hammond was in Iran on Monday for the reopening of the UK embassy in Tehran, and said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had indicated a “more nuanced approach” to Israel’s existence. Hammond said Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s “revolutionary sloganizing” should be distinguished from “what Iran actually does in the conduct of its foreign policy.”

“We’ve got to, as we do with quite a number of countries, distinguish the internal political consumption rhetoric from the reality of the way they conduct their foreign policy,” the Guardian quoted Hammond saying.

This would is really bizzaro backwards. Not only do world leaders say Islam is a religion of peace, but they make excuses for why we shouldn’t take these Islamist leaders seriously when they constantly beat the drums and threaten the annihilation of Israel.

This top Iranian official literally says “our positions against the usurper Zionist regime have not changed at all; Israel should be annihilated and this is our ultimate slogan” and yet this British diplomat basically says to just ignore it.

You know the Bible warns about this in 1 Thessalonians 5:

While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Matthew 24 gives a similar warning:

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

How we can ignore the threats of Iran against Israel and continue to justify a terrible nuclear deal with them is mind boggling.
