Jeb Bush dumps on Trump, claims he supported partial birth abortion until RECENTLY

Jeb Bush is apparently ramping up his attacks on Trump, trying to portray him based on liberal positions he’s held in the past. But one has me a bit puzzled. He claims Trump supported partial birth abortion until recently:

He says he’s never met anyone that agrees with partial birth abortion. Well, me neither, really.

But I did some preliminary research on this issue and found that Trump stated all the way back in 2000 that he did not support it:

I support a woman’s right to choose, but I am uncomfortable with the procedures. When Tim Russert asked me on Meet the Press if I would ban partial-birth abortion, my pro-choice instincts led me to say no. After the show, I consulted two doctors I respect and, upon learning more about this procedure, I have concluded that I would support a ban.

So while Trump initially said he wouldn’t ban it, he clearly changed his mind even back then. Jeb says he supported it ‘recently’.

Jeb doesn’t have his facts straight on this apparently, as Trump has been against partial birth abortion for at least a decade and a half now.

UPDATE: I updated the most for more accuracy.
