Tim Pool, the on-the-ground journalist who runs TimCast, was in fact on the ground last night in Milwaukee during the riots. Today he records a video saying that he is now leaving for fear of his own safety.
Pool explains that while many were looking forward to him staying and covering the riots, he said it has become unsafe for him, primarily because these riots are about race and not just a civil uprising.
He cites hearing the crowd chant ‘f*ck white people’ and notes that he also saw multiple reporters getting assaulted by protesters.
He also witnessed the 18-year-old white male, who was clutching his neck after he got shot, having to be extracted by police in order to be taken to the hospital. This appears to have been the last straw for him and is why he is leaving.
