Karl Rove Woodsheds Gov. Ted Strickland Over Joe The Plumber: He Was Your Bridgegate

On Sunday, Karl Rove and former Democratic Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland were debating Governor Chris Christie and “Bridgegate” when Rove went in for the kill.

“Let’s go back to 2008 and Joe the Plumber. Gov. Strickland’s own appointee as head of the employment commission was found to have been accessing confidential government databases in order to find out confidential information, private information about Joe the Plumber and leaking it to the press. Now is Gov. Strickland, to adopt his standard, either incompetent or lying? Simply because it was his appointee who did these things?”

Burnsauce! Strickland tries to mount some kind of defense, but Rove isn’t having any of it, and really digs the knife in deep, inquiring who leaked the information. It got ugly there. Or beautiful, depending on how you look at it.

There is nothing more satisfying than watching a hypocrite democrat (but I repeat myself) hoisted on their own petard. Delightful.
