Katie Couric accuses Ground Zero mosque opposition of Muslim bigotry

I’m not sure I’ve ever been more offended by Katie Couric than from this clip. She is accusing those who are opposed to the Ground Zero mosque of bigotry against ALL Muslims. How absurd! When Couric opens her mouth she tells the world how much of a fool she is.

And then she has the audacity to say that we need a Muslim version of the Cosby show to help us like Muslims more? We’re not talking about skin color. We are talking about a government framework/religion that is very oppressive. If she would take two seconds and do her research on the middle east and what they believe, she would understand that the Ground Zero mosque was about a man who is a lying about his intentions. It’s not even about Islam so much as it is about a man who wants to push Shari’ah Law in the United States of America. And that’s what we were opposed to.

Ugh these dimwitted news people make me sick!

If you have trouble, watch it at Vimeo

I also think sort of the chasm, between, or the bigotry expressed against Muslims in this country has been one of the most disturbing stories to surface this year. Of course, a lot of noise was made about the Islamic Center, mosque, down near the World Trade Center, but I think there wasn’t enough sort of careful analysis and evaluation of where this bigotry toward 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, and how this seething hatred many people feel for all Muslims, which I think is so misdirected, and so wrong — and so disappointing. …

Maybe we need a Muslim version of The Cosby Show.

I know that sounds crazy, I know that sounds crazy. But The Cosby Show did so much to change attitudes about African-Americans in this country, and I think sometimes people are afraid of what they don’t understand…

Scoop you said… “If she would take two seconds and do her research on the middle east and what they believe, she would understand that the Ground Zero mosque was about a man who is a lying about his intentions.”

It’s called contamination. The liberal media establishment is contaminated. Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB operative who defected to the West in the 1970’s describes the contamination of the liberal/leftist mind. He claimed that you could give the leftist a tour of a gulag, yet they would refuse to believe. The good work of Soviet disinformation has helped produce a whole generation who have worked their way from the academy to top positions in all major disciplines in the West. Couric is one of them, as is Chris Matthews, to name another, who has the moral and ethical weakness to laud the likes of Saul Alinsky.

Post modern liberalism and progressivism is truly a mental illness… a mental illness that the Frankfurt School tried to project onto traditional Western conservatism since the 1930’s. Don’t we get it yet! We conservatives are the dumb ones, the mentally ill, the idiots in need of re-education. It’s moral inversion and we are told it’s goodness and light.

Couric just illustrates how far down the sink hole we’ve fallen.

I think he meant, prop-aganda but put end quote mark in wrong place.

        • You’re half right D-back.

Check again… the ‘ ” ‘ marks surrounded the right part… followed by the (-), to denote connection to the tale end of the “new word” (I know, a bad habit of mine :O) ) I created for this miscreant’s actions.

  • Yea I can totally se how that show would be entertaining, Mohammed comes home to his wife wearing a sheet, he talks to her, she isn’t allowed to talk. The neighbor comes over not thinking with some ointment for the bruise on her wrist he noticed. He leaves the husband freaks out about the fact she is whore showing exposing herself and his family comes over and stones her to death. Great idea Katie why not have a show about Muslims like the Cosby show the only thing funny will be how quickly the Liberals jump ship when they so how bad they treat woman.

  • Vidg2003

From my own studies of history, I have come to the conclusion that Islam is bad news. Period. Islam is the antithesis to the Western/European civilization and must be stopped! Liberals accuse “conservative fundamentalists” for terrorism, when in fact whilst people who commit violence in the name of Jesus Christ are not fundamentalist, but heretical, the inverse is true for Islam: Muslims who do not commit violence in the name of Allah are heretics, and the fundamentalists are the violent ones. Absolute liberal poppycock!

While I appreciate your attempt at compare and contrast with Christianity, be careful not to fall into the relativism trap there Vidg…

Please list all those nasty Christians killing in the name of Jesus over the last one hundred years, even the so-called-heretics. You may find a few to count on one hand… a few sop grains in the bottom of a bowl, compared to the smorgasbord of delights offered up by Muslims. Again… beware of the relativism trap.

      • Vidg2003

I am no moral relativist. I am a Calvinist, if my beliefs on morality could be explained in any more detail, I don’t know how I could. I love to compare and contrast other religions with Christianity, it is very insiteful. Like Christianity and Buddhism, the Left’s favorite religion. Do they not realize how violent Buddhists can be (think pre-Tokugawa shogunate Japan)? I don’t believe so, as they are spoon-feed historical innacurracies in our overcrowded public schools (I am a senior in HS, btw).

        • las

Vidg… I never said your were a moral relativist. I said beware of relativism. There is a difference. I mean it in the sense that everything is relative.

The relativism I am talking of here is the type of relativism that is de rigueur among post-modern liberals.

I’m not actually accusing you of it, but it is a trap we can often fall into when, in our defence of Christianity, we use the relativist method to make our point. And liberals love it because it reduces the veracity of our debate and elevates the speciousness of their claim.

Comparing and contrasting is good to know what we believe and does certainly have some application vis-a-vis other religions… but then again, I think you probably understand that Christianity is a “stand alone” as an absolute claim.

Senior in HS eh! Good to see you on this site.

Thanks, I’m currently reading “Wild at Heart” by John Eldredge and “Iron Kingdom” by Christopher Clark. (The former is a Christian/man oriented book, the latter is a nerd-fest on Prussia). I’ll take a look at “The Book of Absolutes,” sounds (reads) interesting.

      This from John Mark Ministries:

As Dr. Samuel Schlorff, an expert on Islam with Arab

World Ministries puts it, “The truth is that there is

another side to Islam, a side that embraces violence

‘in the way of Allah.’ . . . It holds that all men

are created to live in submission to Allah, as

prescribed by Islamic law. Muslims believe that

Islam’s destiny is to extend its control until the

whole Dar al-Harb [which means “House of War” — that

is, the whole non-Muslim world] is subject to Islamic

law in an Islamic state, and this includes the use of

      force.”

Islam, we’ve been told, is related to the Arabic word

meaning “peace.” This is correct, except that the

word means a particular kind of peace. A better

translation is “surrender” or “submission.” It

describes the peace when a vanquished soldier lays

down his arms in submission. And so the very name,

Islam, has militaristic connotations, and in this

lies the root of radical Islam. That root then grows

in the soil of the Islamic worldview.

Muslims view God, Allah, as absolutely transcendent.

While Christians understand that the Lord God reveals

himself through the Scriptures and preeminently in

the Incarnation, Muslims insist that Allah never

reveals himself in that way. He primarily reveals his

      will.

      • Vidg2003

I agree. Another compare and contrast with Christianity and Islam is the express commands that the followers of each party’s respective God (god for Allah, ha!). In the Great Commission, Christians are commanded to spread the Gospel to all Nations. In the Quran, Muslims are commanded to conquer all Nations and bring the world under Muslim domination. Hm… does that ring a bell to anyone?

  • NOTE2:

Hey Ms. Couric, you really want to “prove” you believe this Republic-wrecking B.S.?

Go “undercover” in… oh, I don’t know, how ’bout IRAN or PAKISTAN. Spend SIX MONTHS THERE:

    1. NO security (NONE)
1a. NO “state” visit agenda… PERIOD. Live amongst ’em, out in the tribal craplands.
    2. Dress EXACTLY as you do in N.Y… period.
    3. Talk to those rock-wipes the way you do to America’s men (you wouldn’t get very far speaking with that condescension face-to-face with many of us).
    4. BEHAVE EXACTLY AS YOU ARE ON RECORD BEHAVING HERE (as in, when you see them beating women half to death in public, pouring acid on 12-year old girls for refusing some 60 year old piece of SHITE, knocking a woman’s teeth out with a staff/cudgel for cooking something they didn’t want that day, etc., etc., etc. STICK YOUR MIC IN THEIR FACE… ASK THEM “what newspapers do they read”. Or better yet, with your same sanctimoniousity (new word alert!), badger them on where they get the ‘right’ to do such things. Tell them, TO THEIR FACES, how ‘bigoted’, ‘ignorant’, ‘uninformed’, etc. they are.

    and

    5. When/IF any of those goat-molesting perverts wants to take you for a “temporary wife” (whether you like it or not), and does to you whatever he pleases (there are sickening evidence pieces galore on how depraved, vicious and even murderous some of those things ARE)… and then BEATS YOU half to death for not “pleasing” him sufficiently… sing his praises to the world (and how wonderfully superior that system of conduct is to what’s lawful here).

    Six months, Ms. Couric.

Then (if you’re even still breathing), come back and look that camera in the eye and tell America how wonderful those “misunderstood and horribly persecuted (here) muzzies are, and just how terrible the citizens of this Republic (the one that insures your liberty to be such a worthless B####) are.

…on second thought, just keep squawkin’ TOKYO ROSE. The day of Reckoning IS coming for the enemies Domestic of this Republic.

  • They will never know the true face of Islam until one day they wake up under caliphate and wonder how that happened. And when they finally protest they will just be killed after morning prayers and still wonder how that happened.

She just used to be better about her tone – sounding more neutral, but now she’s apparently getting fed up that her nice way of saying things didn’t convince us to be a bunch a follows to our own peril.

Hehe, when ‘Morocca’ suggests teaching religion in school Couric just bubbly replies ‘Oh, I agree!’. I wonder how she would have reacted to Glenn Beck saying that. I guess the difference is one wants to teach religion to put down believers and that’s OK.

But I don’t get why it’s wrong to be weary of Islam and not know a lot about it, yet it’s a-ok for Morocca to be totally comfortable with Islam and not know a lot about it either. It’s just blind tolerance from the left. They don’t really care, they’re just happy to sit around feeling smug and mentally ejaculating together about how open minded they are.

Maybe they could do the show showing how the daughters of some of these extremists fall for an infadel and how they do their “honour killings” ?

    • Diamondback

Yea, to be realistic, routine honor killings would have to be a part of the plot. Also, disfigurings like cutting off noses, ears, lips, hands; stonings, public beatings, etc. etc. And, at the end of each show, they all look at the camera, bow and say, “peace be with you.”

This woman is such an IDIOT. How does one that claims to be a journalist/reporter sit in the heart of NYC and in 10 years of post 9/11 not have learned or understands issues people have w/islam? I would love to write an episode of mohab the arab variety show.

And what is it w/the fashion eye wear? It is as irritating as she is.

She’s letting more and more of her anti-conservatism slip all the time. Even when she interviewed Glenn Beck a while back you could just feel that underlying tension that she wanted to nail him, but was unable to be more aggressive within the confines of her assignment.

  • Goldnioo7

LOL@ the gay guy saying “I’m pretty smart. I went to fancy schools and I don’t know 5 things about Islam.”

Well then, you aren’t smart then punk!

    • Agreed! That was comedy gold right there!

  • The show could be posted in English and Arabic. The English version would have jokes and quips of how they are trying to deal with everyday life as a Muslim in America. The Arabic version could disseminate information on how to kill the infidels and curse American imperialism. It would be a big hit! Muslims would hold rallies around it and the Lefties could all cry out “See! They are just like you and me!”

What I find odd about Couric using the Cosby Show as a reference to advance a positive view about Islam is that the Cosby Show got a lot of criticism in it’s day for being a “white” version of a black family.

I’m old enough to remember the Cosby Show’s run on network TV and I remember reading articles, probably in TV Guide because there weren’t a lot of sources back then that I would have been exposed to, that really gave the show a very hard time about how unrealistic it was. Maybe Time and Newsweek? The impression I remember getting at the time was that the “black community” really didn’t like this show very much.

I guess that’s beside the point when it comes to a Muslim version of Cosby. The only way they could make a show like that work would be to lie through their teeth about what Islam really is and there would be no complaints from Muslims.

    • Goldni007

I thought of the same thing Jaynie. They (the Cosby’s) weren’t your ‘typical’ black family. At least that’s what the criticism was.

Also the wife was the strong/career type that was educated and pretty much was in charge. She would roll her eyes at Bill and keep him in check. She was EQUAL TO HIM in every respect. This could never be the case with a Muslim wife/woman. This is one of my greatest critiques with the Muslim world. Mothers! They have been relegated to almost property-like status. They have no authority over their own children (namely males). They are treated like second class citizens.

The ‘mom’ is missing in most parts of the world. Especially the less morally developed countries. This is one of the foremost reasons America is the greatest country on earth imo. The mom is the cornerstone of our great American family! Without her we are nothing. That’s not to say there aren’t great families with just a dad; there are! I’m merely stating that a strong mom is one great big HUGE reason the US is the greatest country on earth.

I’m just convinced that generations of Muslim children without a strong mother produce the animalistic behavior we see in the Islamic world now.

      • Miriam

The head of a well-known think tank devoted to counterterrorism told me ‘the answer to terrorism lies in the empowement of the women’.

I heard it more than once from other (well-informed) sources as well.

That had been a thought in my brain as well. I remember the Cosby show, while a great show, just not realistic for the time.

    • Diamondback

Hey, that’s THE REASON they brought him on the show.

What if they were to actually interview someone that does know Islam. Say,
Walid Shoebat for instance. Their audience might actually learn something true about it. They can’t have that!

  • Conservative Hippie

Couric appears to struggle trying to say, “ground zero” – or is just me. Instead she stumbles around and says, “World Trade Center.” News for Couric, there is no more World Trade Center it’s called “Ground Zero!”

  • Why did you remove my comment?

  • Scoop, you do realize your site is nothing more than regurgitated material from The Blaze and Breitbart? I should have known a site sprinkled with proselytizing for xtianity would eventually show its hypocrisy.

  • Islam WAS fonded on the Rantings of a PEDOPHILE. That pretty much covers it.

It is NOT a “REAL” religion in the same sense as Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, or any OTHER belief.

It IS more in line with FASCISM as a “Lifestyle System” than ANYTHING else.

Oh,.. and Couric is a progressive Leftwingnut libratard any way.

So what she spews has the same validity as my five year old when she wants a cookie instead of dinner.
