Mark Levin: I’m troubled by Rand Paul’s position on Voter ID

Mark Levin said last night that he’s troubled by Rand Paul’s position on Voter ID, pointing out that if he wants to be a leader, you have to argue for what’s right:

Now look. If you want to be a leader, if you want to run for office, sometimes you have to argue what’s right.

I heard Rand Paul on Hannity’s show explaining himself, repeating himself four or five times on that voter ID thing. And I’m troubled by it.

He says he supports it but we shouldn’t make it an issue because there’s a community out there that’s offended by it.

Now look. If you want to be a leader, if you want to run for office, sometimes you have to argue what’s right. I understand there are priorities and there are ways to make that case and I get that completely.

But voter ID is a priority and it just goes to the issue of whether we’re going to be a lawful or lawless government. And it shouldn’t even be a controversy.

So a statesman has to explain it. I don’t care if they have to explain it a thousand times, why it’s important, what it’s not offensive.
