Matt Bevin: McConnell pretending to be conservative to trick his way back into US Senate

Matt Bevin spoke with Chuck Todd this morning about today’s race and how he plans to beat McConnell. When asked by Todd if he believes Mitch McConnell is a conservative, Bevin explained how McConnell is only pretending to be conservative in order to trick his way back into the US Senate:

No… No I don’t.

Conservatives don’t vote to bailout Wall Street banks with taxpayer money.

Conservatives don’t vote for amnesty multiple times.

Conservatives don’t vote for every single debt ceiling increase that comes down the pipe and then battle their own party to make sure you don’t cut anything in the process of giving president Obama a blank check.

Conservatives don’t vote to infringe on the constitutional rights of Americans and allow through the Patriot Act and the NDAA the indefinite detention of Americans and the ability of the government to spy on law-abiding citizens.

These are not votes that are cast by conservatives. And Mitch McConnell has voted for and been a strong supporter of all these things. He is not a conservative. He just pretends to be one every six years in order to try and trick his way back into the US Senate.
