Mattis begins investigation into Air Force

Mattis has commenced an investigation into the Air Force to find out what really happened regarding their conviction and sentencing information of Devin P. Kelley that never ended up in the NCIC:

THE HILL – Defense Secretary James Mattis signed a memo Wednesday requesting that the Defense Department’s inspector general look into the handling of Texas shooter Devin Kelley’s criminal records.

Mattis asked the inspector general to investigate whether information on Kelley was submitted to the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), a database that is used in running background checks on gun purchases.

Mattis in his memo asked the inspector general to find out whether proper information was sent to the NCIC, and if it was not, why.

I can’t wait to see what this turns up.

Yesterday McCain suggested the sequestration of the last few years cut the military so much that it may have caused this to go unreported. But the Chicago Tribune says this problem has been going on for the past 20 years and the Pentagon knew about it.
