The press is going nuts over Trump explaining that he’s so smart he doesn’t need intelligence briefings daily. I have to admit that if you frame it that way, and he DID say that, it sounds really bad.
But if you look at the entire explanation in context, he’s much more reasonable:
So he basically told them, “tell me when stuff changes” so that he doesn’t get the same info every day. I just don’t see that as a problem. But the media, that clearly despises Trump, is misrepresenting what he said to make him sound dumber than usual:

Yeah I don’t care for him much either, but they’re just misrepresenting what he said to make him sound worse.
