With all that’s wrong in our country today, MSNBC chose to grill Santorum on his views on contraception and even asked if he’d outlaw it:

Since when does the President have the authority to even CONSIDER outlawing Contraception (or anything else for that matter)? Isn’t that a Congress thing? Why even ask him this question, unless they’re just trying to make him look bad?

    • Is_Sense_Common

I am just cracking up – once again I accidentally stole your post… I try to not read everyone else’s post before I put mine out there, so as not to influence my own opinions… However, on more than one occasion I have seemingly plagiarized my pals out here. Are we spending too much time together that we are thinking alike?!? Sorry about that, but I must say – you are exactly right!!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1396855720 Brian Jones

Hahaha! No problem man! Great minds think alike!

Like I said they are getting used to the current POS POTUS making up regulations and appointments as he wishes.

      Hail to the DEAR LEADER

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Excellent point Joe! The media are so used to dear leader doing whatever the heck he wants, they are all as corrupted as he is, so they naturally assume everyone else is too.

    • B-Funk

This is mslsd- er, msnbc. They can’t be expected to use their minds….

    • Anonymous

Statists like her long for an oligarchy. They have no use for a Congress.

My answer: No but I am considering making it mandatory for two bit propagandists like you”

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OQI5D66OXO7X2FE4NVCZC7BAMA Joe

    He should have said

“If contraception was in place – You may not be here today”

  • Anonymous

They can’t know how stupid they sound asking these kinds of questions or they wouldn’t ask them.

  • Is_Sense_Common

Since when does the POTUS create laws? These people keep showcasing their lack of knowledge of the manner our country is supposed to work – aka – constitution. So frustrating!!!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OQI5D66OXO7X2FE4NVCZC7BAMA Joe

The current POS POTUS creates what he wants to

      • Is_Sense_Common

No doubt – he uses the Constitution as toilet paper and he must be stopped! The amount of misinformation and intentional misrepresentation of reality of our laws is such a huge battle that must be fought on a daily basis. I think it’s easier for people to just listen to the headlines rather than evaluate a “story” and determine its authenticity.

Annoying Woman: “Should they be concerned about electability?”
Santorum: “Absolutely…I’m the only candidate in this race that’s ever actually WON a tough election!”

    PRICELESS!!!!!

stooopid MSM, even if he wanted to outlaw contraception, which he stated he wouldn’t, but he can’t, he would need congress to make a law against contraception…

    another lame stream media non-issue

These people are mentally ill. Can I ask why those on our side, continue to go on these shows which are clearly communist? When will they learn?

Then they are accused by people like Rove of being “afraid” of the media. The RINOs love the LSM. They think thats how the precious Independents will vote for them, if they go on Katie Couric.

OH LOL! That was priceless Mike!!

  • Darren Anderson

    Remember this? ….

MSNBC to BHO… Do you still believe that babies that are born alive after a failed abortion attempt should be placed in a garbage can and left to die? Do you still fully support all forms of abortion, even late term?

And when they asked the difficult questions like… Can you describe you relationship with Bill Ayres and how he has helped you in your political decisions and career? Can you produce and actual birth certificate? Why did you vote “present” on 99% of all bills? What legislation have you written that has actually passed?

    Oh wait, IT NEVER HAPPENED.

But they can sit in front of a republican candidate and ask stupid questions!

Ladies and Gentlemen, These are the people who want to bring you Mitt Romney! They have said from the start that Romney is going to be the nominee. All they have to do is knock down everyone else to clear the way for Romney. Is there something wrong with this picture?

Have you ever herd the saying that the measure of a person’s intelligence is how much they agree with you? I didn’t realize I had a long, lost brother.

There’s a whole big happy family here Mike! :-D Welcome to it!

Since most forms of birth control (pills, IUDs, shots) are abortifacient, it is actually a legitimate question.

    • Anonymous

You can’t possibly be that stupid, can you?

      • Anonymous

If someone is against abortion and wants to outlaw it, it presents a quandary when it comes to birth control pills. Birth control pills act as abortifacient if the woman conceives while on them.

I’m not expressing any personal opinion here. So why would you call me stupid?

        • Anonymous

Beacause when you lack intellect like Jaynie59, its all you have. Name calling is the lowest form of and shows what real stupidity looks like. Don’t sweat it.

I call stupid people stupid so maybe they’ll think twice before writing stupid things where other stupid people will believe it.

              • Anonymous

I don’t lie. You may hate me and my opinions, and that’s your right, but this country is on the verge of collapse and I truly believe conservatism is it’s only hope. Unfortunately there are too many so-called conservatives who play right into the liberal narrative of the crazed, extreme, Right Wing Christian Conservative and those people do real damage. Like claiming that contraceptives are no different than having an abortion. That’s a lie and it’s obvious teri_b knows it’s a lie.

Liberals are lying, hateful people who hate this country and everything it stands for but most of them aren’t stupid enough to say so. Conservatives are compassionate, caring, and believe in individual rights and liberty. And all it takes is one teri_b to feed the liberal narrative of the busy bodies really being on the Right.

                • Anonymous

I have said nothing that is not accurate. You, on the other hand, cannot seem to read with any comprehension.

Obviously, I never said that being on the pill was the same as having a surgical abortion. But in cases where there is break-through ovulation resulting in conception, the pill makes the womb inhospitable for implantation. Therefore, the pill has abortifacient properties that many women are unaware of.

I said nothing political whatsoever. I don’t give a rip whether you want to use birth control or not.

I assume you never did well in science.

                • Anonymous

                  Thanks for the laugh.

                • Anonymous

I didn’t call you a liar and I don’t hate you. You have made some very good points many times over the last few weeks that you came to my attention.

I appreciate your passion. I just think you are being overly aggressive. Calling people names is the sure way to lose your argument, and at the very least, lose any support. We try to be friends here and have differences of opinion in good faith. When somebody doesn’t play nice I tend to get condescending.

teri b has the same right to her opinion as you do.

We can all agree that liberals are lying, hateful, scum of the Earth people.

                • Anonymous

thanks, toongoon, everyone here has a right to their opinion. The point I was trying to make to Jaynie is that I wasn’t stating any opinion, only medical facts.

My original statement had a mild opinion in it – that her question might be valid if Roe were overturned or if there was a Human Life Amendment stating that life began at conception. I suspect the reason Newt got tied up in knots over the whole question was because there are so many nuances when dealing with birth control pills.

Jaynie needs to stick to whatever her expertise is rather than arguing blindly about something she is so obviously uninformed about. My comments had nothing to do with politics.

(p.s. – yes, we can all agree about lying liberals.)

                • Anonymous

I thought you stated your case well. :-)

                • Anonymous

                  Thanks.

        • Anonymous

Birth control pills do no such thing and anyone who told you that is as stupid as you are. Look it up. Birth control pills prevent ovulation. You idiot.

You’re talking about the morning after pills.

IUD’s prevent an egg from meeting sperm.

I don’t know what “shot” you’re talking about, but if it’s for routine birth control they do the same thing as the pill.

          • Anonymous

The last line of defense in a birth control pill is to prevent implantation. That is only when it is unsuccessful preventing conception or ovulation.

It weakens the lining of the womb and prevents implantation as a last resort.

My apologies to those on here who didn’t want to read the graphic details.

            • Anonymous

You’re hilarious. Here’s a clue right in the word: contraception.

My apologies to those offended by the dictionary.

              • Anonymous

You clearly don’t want to understand what I am saying. Preventing conception is the first line of defense, but if that fails the womb becomes inhospitable so that the fertilized egg won’t implant.

Whether you like it or not, if you depend on anything other than condoms or diaphragms, you run the risk of your birth control occurring after conception.

You can start to debate whether or not a woman is pregnant before implantation, but calling me stupid when you are clearly not aware of how chemical methods work doesn’t change the facts.

On the other hand, if your doctor failed to inform you of how your birth control works, you have every right to be angry. Any woman taking a hormone that relies primarily or secondarily on abortifacient properties has a right to know.

                Always read the leaflets carefully.

                • Anonymous

You are worse than stupid. You use deliberate misinformation, lies, to promote your political agenda.

You are why Right Wing Christian Conservatives are, and always will be, used by liberals to win.

                • Anonymous

Stupid is being deliberately ignorant. I don’t know what your problem is, but screaming at me because you don’t like the facts isn’t going to change the facts.

      • Anonymous

You, obviously are and clearly one of these wacky female types that always jump on non-stories like this one. We can all agree that it is in our best interest that you never reproduce.

Too late. I have a daughter who I never had to worry about because I taught her morals along with a good dose of fear. Of me if she ever got pregnant.

Just my disdainful opinion and suggestion to someone who acts as if her only means of transportation is a broom. I hope you at least exercise enough caution to avoid putting someone’s eye out with your hat.

            • Anonymous

Just bashing The Basher. It who “thinks” it is smarter than anyone here, when the reverse of that is obvious.

What you are is a thing with a blackhole where a soul normally lives. Your Dad’s Catholicism won’t help or hurt ya’. You’ve already purchased your own ticket to Hell. It’s your problem alone.

Alone, just like you like it.

              • Anonymous

You’re too funny. You remember that my father was a Catholic? Wow. That’s surprises even me and I know how much Catholics bother you. I figured you got pissed off because I commented about Christians on a thread about Catholics.

                • Anonymous

Yeah, funny is my favorite. By the way, I don’t think I’ve bashed any Catholics. I have had some back and forth debates with a few. My Mother-in Law and her husband are Catholic. I love the fig out of ‘em.

I remember things about atheists usually. To me it’s a strange aberration. I wonder at how they arrive at that sad point. I don’t consider that a bash either.

What you have done on this and the next thread (I believe it is)…that is bashing. Disagreement is not bashing. It’s discussing, debating and sometimes arguing a bit.

For example, I would never pray to a Saint or the Mother of Jesus. I go directly to the Godhead, i.e., the Trinity. I would never kiss anyone’s ring either, nor their ass.

                  Now be nice :-)

  • http://www.kennethballard.com Kenneth

First, as others have noted, the question is misleading as the President wouldn’t be able to outlaw anything. That decision lies with Congress. But even then Congress really would not be able to outlaw it even if they wanted to. The Supreme Court took care of that question in two cases:

    1. Griswold v. Connecticut, 381 US 479 (1965) – overturned Connecticut’s law regarding contraception but was a ruling that applied only to married couples
    2. Eisenstadt v. Baird, 405 US 438 (1972) – expanded the Griswold decision to include unmarried individuals

Aww, crap…here we go again. “I’m the only one that has won elections in tough districts and states”. I am so tired of hearing that line.

As for the questions, the left always turns the argument to the woman’s right to do what she wants with her own body. Of course , we all know that the child being killed is not part of her body, but that doesn’t matter to them.

The question isn’t posed to shine light on a candidate about important issues for prospective voters, it’s intended to make them look rigid and too fundamental in religious views.
