Musab Masmari is suspected of setting fire to a gay night club in Seattle Washingtong because he thinks that “homosexuals should be exterminated.” Local station KIRO 7 has the story:
Police were able to track down Masmari thanks to an informant and member of the local Muslim community, who met with Masmari shortly after the fire was set. The informant also told the FBI that he believed Masmari was planning a further terrorist attack involving a rifle.
This story was first reported weeks ago but has been back in the news in the last several days as the information about potential further terrorism targets has come to light, as noted at Weasel Zippers this weekend.
It’s interesting to just be hearing about it, don’t you think? Doesn’t seem to be big national news. But just imagine if it were a Christian who set fire to a gay night club because he thought gay people should be “exterminated.” Wall to wall coverage and national navel gazing to last a lifetime. Interesting.
