Chuck Todd reported on NBC’s online poll of the Republican race for the nomination right after the GOP debate. Great news for Trump, the Cruzinator, and Ben Carson.
Watch below:
Here are screenshots of the results:
Wow. I haven’t seen Trump come in second in a long time!! Not surprised though, Carly absolutely ROCKED that first debate.
Someone please drag Kasich away. Ted Cruz needs his 2%.
Amazingly and consistently, Trump gets a ton of favorable votes and a ton of negative votes.
BUT LOOK AT THIS!!
WOW! CRUZ AND CARSON make YUGE gains! That’s awesome. Unfortunately it looks like Scott Walker took a hit.
But but but… there’s a YUGE caveat. Look at the bottom of the screen – they did this survey with “Survey Monkey,” an online polling service. Many think that makes the poll so unscientific it’s practically useless.
Shame on @chucktodd @meetthepress for showing non-scientific Survey Monkey poll not done by a professional pollster @JoeNBC pls call him out

Given that they didn’t say much about the methodology I would say this could be taken as an “indicator” of the popular mood, but not a very reliable one. I guess we’ll see how accurate these are as more scientific polls come out.
