Nikki Haley turns up the PRESSURE on Russia at the UN

Nikki Haley continues to turn up the pressure on Russia at the UN, telling them they need to side with the civilized world and stop covering for Assad:

Many of us have known for a long time that Assad’s days have been numbered since this civil war began in 2011. But that doesn’t mean it’s right. Yes, Russia came to their aid in 2015 to help them overcome the jihadi forces that were being armed and funded by the likes of Obama and Erdogan, and they may very well be as complicit as the US says they are in these brutal attacks going on there.

But here’s the problem with continuing to try and isolate Assad by pressuring their allies like Russia to withdraw. What happens when Assad finally falls?

Farage is right. No one has said what will become of Syria once Assad is gone. Does ISIS get it? How about the non-ISIS jihadi rebels who are just as brutal and barbaric as ISIS?

You know, Egypt got lucky. The jihadis had actually won with Morsi’s rise to power, but then Morsi made the mistake of appointing El-Sisi to lead the Egyptian Army, who then overthrew Morsi and became president himself. And Egypt is far better off for it.

But we can’t expect that to happen in Syria. Just as Erdogan has learned from the mistakes of Morsi by purging anyone and everyone who might oppose him, so will the jihadists who might seize control of Syria.

It’s unfortunate, but right now Russia is at least partially right about Assad. He’s the only one who can go toe to toe on the ground with the Muslim Brotherhood jihadis who want to do to him what was done to Mubarak.

As brutal as they may be, dictators are the best thing that ever happened to the Middle East. But as they get taken out one by one, we will once again see the rise of the very thing that they’ve been holding at bay for a century – the rise of Muslim Brotherhood and the revived Ottoman Empire.
