Scotland is decrying the Brexit decision this morning and now wants out of the UK:
BBC – Scotland’s first minister has said a second independence referendum is “highly likely” after the UK voted to leave the EU.
Nicola Sturgeon said it was “democratically unacceptable” that Scotland faced the prospect of being taken out of the EU against its will.
She said the Scottish government would begin preparing legislation to enable another independence vote.
Sturgeon said before that Scotland’s independence was tied to a break from the EU, which is why they always voted to remain in the UK. But now that Britain has decided to leave the EU, Scottish independence now represents staying in the EU.
Even though Scotland voted heavily to remain in the EU last night, will they actually vote to break away from the UK?
