NRSC: We won’t support Christine O’Donnell

Ugh. The NRSC has already announced they will not support Christine O’Donnell. Instead they call out the Tea Party, suggesting that the Tea Party should fund this candidate since they are the ones who believe in her. Yeah, that’s pretty much my ‘nice guy’ interpretation:

Fine, if that’s the way they want it, let’s send her money to prove we don’t need the establishment! Go right now and donate what you can:

Thank you!

Every so often I sit down and reevaluate my decision to drop my GOP registration (registered unaffiliated) after the ’08 elections and possibly rejoin the Republican party. Every single time, the GOP establishment come up with a new way to reaffirm my conviction that I will never have anything to do with them again anew and stronger than ever.

I’ve said before, if GOP is what it means to be conservative, then I am no conservative and proud of it. Libertarian/agorist philosophy is a much better fit, and I still get to vote how I feel in general elections.

The faster the NRSC fades into irrelevance the better.

  • KeninMontana

Well according to their website http://www.nrsc.org : What We Do:

The NRSC provides invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, research and strategy.
It would seem that since O’Donnell is the duly elected winner of the GOP primary that would make her the Republican candidate duly chosen by the people, would it not? If you feel like giving this bunch of elitist snots an earful here is their contact info, by the way they are funded by the people who donate, time to throw a bit of weight about I think, how about you? Remember even if you did not vote or support O’Donnell it could be your pick they choose not to support next.

  • This is a very big mistake no matter what GOP candidate won…the NRSC is going to regret this decision and John Cornyn is going to pay a price for it. I was not interested in this race until the local GOP began to trash one candidate. The backlash can be very nasty…

  • Tyler

I’m actually with Scoop. We don’t need the stinkin establishment. The biggest part of what funding is all about is campaigning and advertising. If people just did more research on their own, then we really wouldn’t need lots of money and signs and commercials on TV. You’d think that people would have evolved quicker…but I guess not. Hopefully it picks up before it’s too late.

  • A Friend Of Mine Just Put It THIS WAY:

“You know if the NRSC won’t support O’Donnell, then give DIRECTLY to her, and send the NRSC a copy of the check you sent to her. Multiply that by 100,000 people, then they will listen, all right. Time we set our own people straight – no more tolerance, no more Mr Nice Guy, the line is drawn HERE!”

    …yeah, he’s military. LUVIT!!!!
    CM Sackett

    • Actually, when I read this at work, I was thinking about doing just that, right down to sending them the copy of the check with a note saying: “guess who I’m never supporting, ever again, as long as they have RINOs in their midst?”

      (Yep, I’m military, too.)

    • Tyler

That is a pretty good idea. I like that one a lot. Makes me wish I had some bucks or that’s exactly what I would do.

  • Members of the GOP that were involved in opposing her, at all levels, need to be called out by name, and their political careers destroyed, especially the non-elected types. People with money should start standing up for their country, and threaten to completely withdraw their support for the RNC (instead funding candidates and sitting politicians, directly), completely bypassing these RINO royalists, and letting it, as another RINO royalist said years ago, “wither on the vine”.

  • Rich

Someone help me understand why people cared so much about getting Castle the nomination? They made it a big deal like O’Donell can’t win…and I Say, so what? What in god’s name is the difference between Castle winning and the dem winning? Nothing at all. Who cares what the stupid letter infront of the name is ,all the matters is how they vote. If Castle votes just like a dem, then why would I care if a dem is in that seat instead of him?

    • Aaron

      >>> What in god’s name is the difference between Castle winning and the dem winning?

Gee, nothing… well, except control of the Senate. Delaware is one of the bluest states in the country. Only moderate republicans and liberal democrats win there. O’Donnell is a dead duck, and will accomplish nothing except handing the senate to the dems for another couple years.

      • Connie

NO NO NO NO NO NO
Geez people, let’s get educated here!!!
A liberal republican IS a democrat. If we want to take back our party from the RINO establishment, we must remove them from office, regardless of which party holds the final seat in the Senate. Think beyond the present, would you?

You just don’t get it! The people are sick of the same ole’ same ole’ whether Democrat or Republican. By giving up on O’Donnell and not supporting her is in essence giving up on everything the people have been protesting about.

I’m a little disappointed with tonight’s Delaware results. I don’t think she has a chance to win. It would have been amazing if both the Democratic President AND Vice President’s former seats were taken by Republicans, but that ain’t going to happen, at least not in Delaware.

North East Republicans Republican Senators are almost nonexistant. They are completely different animals from red state republicans.

Castle may not have been a conservative firebrand, but he had a shot at winning and he’s less likely to vote for a Democrat agenda than an actual Democrat.

    • Anonymous

She could win. It could happen.

      • Whadsssup

If Obama could win, why can’t she? No one really knew who he was but ended up being elected.

    • grizzlybarrmomma

I hear you. I use to vote that way. Lesser of 2 evils. THERE IS SOMETHING HUGGGGGGGE going on across AMERICA in these primaries. Take a look. When was the last time WE THE PEOPLE won over THE ESTABLISHMENT (I need a better word? Organization….?). It’s not just ONE STATE. IT’S EVERYWHERE YOU FIND CONCERNED CITIZENS.

Message = we need to send money to Christine. No bussing in, though.

  • Anonymous

….and that is why I will not contribute to any Republican party organization, but only directly to the candidate. Those suckers will not get my money.

  • I’ll never support the GOP until their Tea Party candidates BECOME the GOP. Probably won’t happen in my lifetime (I’m 48).

    • Connie

I’m 48 too, and we will see it, Chris. It’s happening before our eyes. Just a few more election cycles, and a few more bloody battles. 🙂

The action by the RNC concerning Christine O’Donnell is appalling to say the least. The people spoke and nominated her fair and square. They do not want any more milk toast republicans or RINO’s. For the RNC to say they would not support her is an outrage. This is one of the reasons I remain an independent, the Republican Party cannot be trusted to stay true to its conservative base, and for that reason this morning instead of sending my financial support to the RNC, I am have sent my donation to Christine O’Donnell’s campaign. The RNC needs to be part of the solution or get out of our way. Let them no we will not abide with their nonsense.

  • Msbtch2you2003

I just sent Karl Rove an email and reminded him that the Republicans nor the Democrats have control of this country. We the People do. I think it is absolutely shameful that the Republicans have said they will not support O’Donnell. They are doing exactly what Obama and his minions do. Giving this seat to the Democrats. THEY ARE ALL ALIKE. AND NO ONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND WHY WE ARE DO ANGRY!!!!!

    • Mary

I have been such a fan of Karl Rove but after hearing him last night not any more. I couldn’t believe my ears!! Shame on him.

  • Just donated to Christine, sent a copy of my email and screenshot of my donation to the NRSC and a nice little note explaining that it was their job to support the candidates chosen by the people….not Mr. Rove.

  • Anonymous

Thanks for the link. She just got $250 from me. I hope I don’t jinx her. I’ve donated to only one other politican in my life. Fred! That didn’t turn out so well for pretty much the same reasons Christine is going to face. Except they’re really going after her in a nasty personal way.

Anyone good at math? I just checked christine2010.com and it says they’re up to 179% of the $50K goal.

Given the attitide and actions of the NRSC and the comments made by Karl Rove, I am changing my party affiliation for the November elections to Independent. The hell with the Republican heirarchy mindset. If they refuse to support a candidate that clearly reflects the peoples choice, I am adamantly opposed to their establishment mentality and agenda to continue to run this country into the ground as an alternative to the Democratic way of doing things. There is nor signficant difference between the two parties. They both represent what is wrong with this country and why it is headed in the wrong direction. Go O’Donnell!

Just like we’re sending a message to the liberal/progressive/socialist/marxist, communist Democrats in this country that we’re not going to take it any longer, so too will we send the so-called Republican party the same message!

The RNC “elites” did the same thing to McCain at the last election, and they’re doing the same to O’Donnell. If the Republican party is willing to shoot itself in the foot for O’Donnell’s victory over RHINO Castle, then they will get what they’ve got coming to them – more Democratic progression towards socialism! This ought to be a REAL WARNING SIGN that the RNC is just as progressive and dangerous as the Democrats we oppose.

I am a registered Republican, and I heard Karl Rove last night on Hannity, and I hope he has to eat his words! I thought Hannity really called him to task on his opposition to O’Donnell and how this opposition hurts our cause.

We don’t need the RNC! Citizens of Delaware, mobilize! We don’t need the RNC to get our candidates into office!

Republicans, this is not a time to divide! We MUST stand together and support our candidates, speak highly of them, even IF they are not the preferred, “establishment” candidate. The people will carry the day, and the RNC can become a part of this movement. Otherwise, get the Hell out of the way!

Shame on the NRSC. They won’t support the people’s choice in Delaware. They have thrown in the towel. It makes me wonder if any of the candidates they back should be suppported. We the people want ot get rid of the politics as is. Evidently the NRSC doesn’t get it.

  • Peter

Looks like the NSRC has changed their mind – http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/15/republican-establishment-pledges-support-odonnell-infighting/ and Christine’s goal is now $350,000 – of which she’s raised 66% or $231,000. Not bad for a few hours work.
