Maggie Habermann with the New York Times is apparently interviewing President Trump and says his strategy is to now blame the Democrats and let Obamacare fail in order to bring them to their knees:

Ok this is utterly and ridiculously stupid.
First, Obamacare is failing and Trump and Republicans know it, so they most certainly a responsibility to fix it. The American people do not deserve to be used as pawns this way. If Trump and the Republicans let Obamacare fail, then part of that will be on them.
Secondly, you see what’s going on here right? Trump can’t get his RINOcare passed by Republicans in the House, so he’s going to wait until Obamacare fails so he can get Democrats to help him pass it. It’s not about getting a better bill, it’s about passing this Obamacare lite bill with Democrat support.
And who loses in the end? The American people.
Look if Trump wants to move on, let him. Republicans do not need him to pass a good bill repealing and replacing Obamacare.
Do you really think if the House and Senate pass a repeal and replace bill, that Trump won’t sign it? Oh he’ll sign it with “All I do is win” playing in the background.
