OBAMA DECIDES TO TALK, invites congressional leaders to government shutdown meeting

Apparently negotiating isn’t so bad after all:

POLITICAL WIRE – President Obama has invited Speaker John Boehner, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to the White House later today to discuss reopening the government and raising the debt ceiling.

Boehner’s spokesperson said he will meet with the president at 5:30 today at the White House.

Some have suggested on Twitter that Obama is trying to change the narrative and bury the story about them blocking the WWII vets from their memorial. Maybe. But it wouldn’t look good for Boehner to turn down a ‘talk’ meeting that he has been pushing for so hard. But since this makes the WH look very bad, the media will likely under-report on it anyway. I’ll be watching.
